First things first, peeps. Today's episode was a massive letdown. I don't think the production team has come to terms with setting up and executing a special episode. The plot, pacing, and placement were all wrong today.
All the scenes felt like they were stuffed full of reconstituted pumpkin puree rather than actual ingredients. A whole lot of drab, tasteless and repetitive dialogue. For eg, take the Radhaji scene in MB's room. Could have been effective had it been half the length. Stop dropping anvils from the ceiling of obviousness. Heera?Koyla? polish? I would have given up my career too and become a fat stay at home aunty if i could push out diamonds instead of children. Mr Shekhawat, get a grip. Don't give RK style dialogues to people who are not RK.
Then Bittuji claiming that RK will stop the cheques? I know that we got a lovely bit of meta and realisation there- Madhu acknowledged the game and its terms -- but it made sure that when RK does call Karthik ( he he, nice touch there, writers), the drama is ineffective and squib like.
The fancy dress cameo by kukku and co was very ill done. Plotted, executed and played as clumsily as a drunk monkey trying to pick a lock while wearing boxing gloves.
The Madhubala descending like a hot goddess from the upper realms and RK looking , or acting, like he had just been gobsmacked by a vision from the angel dimension of beauteous love crumbed with a robust coating of lust scene was well done. But then if you have leads who look like these two, it would be hard to screw up such a scene. But you tried. Oh how you tried.
I'm not buying the waiting on guests humiliation charade again. Maybe it is a cultural thing. I don't live in India so really i never get it how its such an OMG Awful! Chee chee thing if you pick up a tray and serve your guests. We do it all the time here in the UK. Sure, it'd be unusual where you had servers, but not remarkable.
Now to the good bit.
RK bought those gift for his treasured BIWI. bought them himself. I cannot tell you how many romantic hero boxes that ticks, peeps. Hotness quotient just went up a bazillion.
And he has good taste, says his mum. And so far, we have seen nothing to contradict her. That little nugget of information rescued the episode from utter drudgery. RK thinks about her, imagines cherishing and decorating her, lavishes time and money on providing her a with a good setting for her beauty. Sure, he thinks about her like a posession at the moment, but she occupies his consciousness to the exclusion of all else. Looked at from the other side, that, ma peeps, is called love.
Hugs, to all my peeps.
