Rishbala & Ballu : I hate you like I love you!

Okay, before I go on to the awesome Ballu-RK saga where Ballu has taken an instant liking to RK, and RK , after initial attitude is interested in Ballu , Ballu's story and absolutely patient to his menacing persona – I just have to write a small note for Madhu because I was glad to see the return of her soft side.
Today, when press poked the mic into her face , degrading RK and applauding her for sending him to prison, I really liked what she said. She told the press that what is there to be happy about ? One man is in jail, one man is recuperating in bed . One man's family must be worried sick because he is in jail. The other man's family is tensed because he is injured. Fine, RK is guilty , so he is in jail , but what is there to be happy about? It's a sad incident , and you are praising the situation and expecting me to be happy? THAT'S MADHUBALA SHAMSHER MALIK. I am glad that she is not deriving sadistic pleasure out of having hurt RK. Infact , we all saw that her reaction to RK's arrest was meek and unsure – it did not make her happy at all. Yes, she wanted to hit his ego because he had hurt her ego , but after the Chaudhrain in her settled , she is just not all that gung ho about having sent RK to jail. Yes, he should be punished for his deed but why revel in his agony? That is what an objective and righteous person should be like – judgmental but OBJECTIVE. One thing is certain today, though. Madhubala does not hate RK , she just wants to teach him a lesson for what he has done. Her dislike and prejudice for RK is nothing in comparison to the magnanimous hatred that RK has for her.
Now, coming to RK and Ballu. Well, we know how Ballu is. He hates and destroys 99.999% people that he meets. But in a BRILLIANT SCREENPLAY, ACT , DIALOGUE WEAVING of RK-Ballu's jail sequence , we were in for a surprise. Ballu has seen a menacing unforgiving fire in Rishabh and he LIKES it. RK caught Ballu's collar but Ballu was amused, intrigued and impressed by this simmering superbrat. RK's attitude , that slow burning fire inside him, his utter fearlessness made Ballu quite sweet and affectionate towards him. Infact , he thought RK was a good toy to pass his time with and he did that much. Its such a fabulous watch as RK and Ballu bond over the 'Madhubala' connection. RK writing Madhubala's name on the wall with a slow calculative hateful artistry. Ballu telling RK that even he knew a Madhubala whom he finished 20 years ago – Madhubala whose name's ill –luck followed him when he got into a fight with a manager of a hotel in the same place where Madhu, Paddy and Trish had 'died'. RK listening to Ballu's menacing tale of how much he hated his daughter Madhubala and finished her – Ballu's menace seeping into an attentive and affected RK that he must repeat history – Finish the Madhubala who has caused you this misery. IRONY? Both the men did not know that they are talking about the same woman.
RK was angered , intrigued and then, trapped in Ballu's demon like personality . RK became interested in Ballu's tale as the name of 'Madhubala ' came up – he listened , learned and whatever Ballu told him today in a colourful narration of spell binding dialogues and acting by Raj Zutshi – everything seeped deep into RK. Ballu , in a way, hammered it into RK's head again that he must destroy Madhubala or else he will not be able to live in peace. Its unusual for RK to ever acknowledge what he feels , but somehow , as he artfully wrote Madhu's name on the wall – it spilled out of him and to whom? Ballu. He told Ballu with a straight face but an injured voice – " Khoon ke do ghoont jo humne aaj piye hain, hamaare liye wahi hamaara lunch aur dinner hai." ( The insult and humiliation that I was put through today has finished my hunger for food).
And this RE-WATCHABLE episode just needed that vintage Ballu-Paddy touch to further elevate an otherwise flawless episode. Trishna and Roma brought lunch for RK ( which Paddy has cooked, by the way ). RK, preferring to paint Madhu's name on the wall told the constable to give this lunch-from-nowhere to Ballu. And that is one scene you should not miss at any cost. As soon as Ballu holds that Tiffin in his hands , the aroma of his fave baingan ka bharta hits his senses – and just watch Ballu's face! Even after 20 years , he can recall Paddy's perfect-at-culinary –skills hand. It instantly hits him that this food is exactly like what Paddy made . In a toxic flashback sequence , we see that Ballu first showers Paddy with his toxic love for making amazing baingan ka bhartaa and then, cracks her fingers for not having made enough. He still remembers every single detail of Paddy and its scary. How can you remember every single thing about a person whom you hated and killed 2 decades ago?
But then , did Ballu ever hate Paddy? No. He loved her but with a fanatic toxicity and no, he never loved her or anyone more than himself. But whatever it is people, Ballu remembers her with a twisted kind of love and nostalgia. He even told RK that his house is just a gorgeous palace – Padmini made it a home but now she is go , went, gone. Go, decipher this demon if you can.
I cannot explain it better than this – but you have to see how Ballu recognizes Paddy's cooking just by the aroma and the combination of the same with chane ki daal. If Ballu would have been good, it would have been romantic but right now, its SCARY.
RK is consumed by Madhu and that radio insult where RK only got to hear the part where Madhu is applauding Indian Law ( and not the part where she said that she was not happy with RK's arrest ) only added insult to injury. He spent his whole time writing Madhu's name on the wall with a cold menace – darkening the fonts as much as he could as Ballu narrated his life story to him. RK is going to remember what Ballu taught him and this teaching is only going to make RK more determined to destroy Madhubala.
All in all, a FLAWLESS episode and brilliant writing and execution after a whole one week . This is the show that we loved in the first two weeks! Raj Zutshi is absolutely EXTRAORDINARY.
And relax, people. Ballu is not serving any sentence – he is only under arrest , just like RK. And Ballu has no idea that he and RK were bitching about the same Madhubala.
Danger signal? RK and Ballu like each-other. Best dialogue? "Hamaari to chaal mein hi likha hai , ki hum Balraaj Chaudhary hain." After RK's khoon ka ghoont bouncer.
P.S- I do not wish to write about what I saw of Roma and Trishna today. Its hurtful. Seriously. Am just glad that Madhu was not there to hear those words.
