Madhubala fell from 2.6 to 2.1 this week.

Okay, so this is how it goes. The audience has come in for RK-MB's love story and that is what sold on the show as 'Ek Ishq Ek Junoon'. Right?
The audience came in and they were swept away by a bumper first week , which even though didn't feature the leads , had a strong cast and taut script . We all fell in love with Ballu, Paddy, Shamsher , BC, DM , et al. What held us ? THE STORY and the way it was narrated.
Second week , the audience stayed due to the curiosity of seeing the new generation and our beloved Madhu , to be followed by her RK. We even embraced Trishna because of her fab portrayal by Aarti Puri and we even lent an ear to her story.
But audiences have little patience , here. Its like , we are giving you our precious time and ratings, so. you give us our Madhu-RK. So, as the makers are trying to set up the story , lay foundations and follow a structure to build this saga , we are losing our patience because when Madhu-RK were sold to us , we were not given a time disclaimer.
THAT is how the TRPs of a good show suffer in comparison to shows where the heroine makes an entry only to fall into her hero's arms. I have confidence in this show because that is how a good show starts - it gives a bumper opening , grabs the audience , takes two-three weeks to set up everything and then, what a ride!
I have seen this happening with shows like Diya aur Baati Hum, Punar Vivah etc. DABH started slow but the makers chose to bank on their own judgment and build characters and story. They knew what they were doing. PV had a starry start and then, it slumped to 2.1-2.2 etc. for about 2 weeks. And then, as the main story began , the show has risen to a 3 today.
Point? GIVE TIME and a chance to the MB team to prove themselves. They are setting the foundation right now to the epic saga that they have promised you. RK can't just walk into the frame and Madhu can't just trip and fall into his arms rightaway. His entry has to be set and Madhu has to be set in his life. These writers are the same people who gave you a fab first week and a good second week. And they do work on feedback.
Don't worry. The team will review the TRP this week like all teams do and they will be sorted with what worked and what didn't work.
Lastly, don't compare Madhubala's ratings with other shows. Those shows are old and you don't compare an infant to a father of two. Just saying.
