Madhu was outraged on seeing RK outside her chawl. So this brat had the nerve to follow her all the way to her doorstep! Well this was her territory and superstar or not, he'll not be able to get away this time she thought savagely grabbing Mallik's bat. She'd make sure the message was delivered to him loud and clear.
RK got out of his swanky Mercedes and leaned against it with an almost bored look on his face. When he saw Madhu descending the stairs with her dupatta tied to one side knotted at the end, her face now free of the mud that had been smeared on it a moment ago, her hairs pulled back into a tight pony, her curls swaying dangerously around her chubby face, holding the cricket bat in her hand he was thunderstruck – she looked no less than an avenging angel. This was the first time he actually saw her and he was stunned to behold the sight before his eyes. Never before had he come across a woman like her. Not that he had not seen a beautiful face before. Hell, he'd been surrounded by them but for reasons he could not fathom this woman had the spark, the fire in her eyes which only lured him and strengthened his resolve. Seeing her feisty avatar, he had a fair idea about what was playing on her mind. Well game on he thought. He'd play fire with fire.
Meanwhile the entire neighbourhood gathered around RK excitedly and started clicking his pictures from their cell phones and some of them thrust a piece of paper in front of him to get his autograph. He obliged his fans by giving out autographs and all the while he was staring at Madhu who only looked infuriated on seeing the mob around him. This only amused him more. For a moment she stood there glaring at her neighbours who were showering attention on this insolent self-obsessed self centered eccentric superstar. She then straightened her shoulders and marched up to RK pushing the crowd aside with a fierce look on her face.
"So you thought you'd walk in here and receive a red carpet welcome?" she demanded him.
The crowd became silent and backed away to watch the exciting drama unfold before their eyes.
"Seems like that's the case," he told her gleefully adding fuel to the already blazing fire, waving at the mob.
"You have the nerve to stand before me after you ill-treated my didoo and humiliated me in public?" she spat on him throwing as much venom possible into her words.
RK gave a puzzled look to her.
"Didoo? Who the heck is this now?" he asked her in a lazy bored monotonous voice.
"My elder sister, Trishna. Trishna Mallik. The very same girl you humiliated today at your crappy auditions," she snapped at him while the name rang a bell in RK's memory.
"Oh her? Great! That piece of crap was your sister?" he asked her mockingly.
"How dare you.." Madhu began but RK continued on, "I must admit the traits are uncanny, after all it runs in the family, you see! One utterly talentless ready to throw herself at any other second guy she sees in the hopes of getting a role in my film while the other wishes to exhibit her talent by waving a withered cricket bat at others? Is that all you can do?"
Now RK had touched a raw nerve by publicly insulting her didoo and Madhu would never spare him for that.
"You think that's all I can do, is it? How about this?" she said and smashed the headlights of his car. Her neighbours were shocked at seeing their ever so polite, ever so docile Madhu raging like a storm waiting to destroy everything that came in her path.
RK stepped back but he made no move to stop her. He folded his arms and let her total his car. She went about smashing the car. She gave it several dents and she broke all the passenger seat windows. After wreaking damage on his car she looked back at him and returned his arrogant smirk.
"There! Now you know what I can do with that bat. Be thankful that it was your car and not your head. Now you should know better not to cross paths with Madhubala Mallik!" she told him throwing him a disgusted look.
He stood there unmoved. All he had heard till now was just one word – Madhubala.
"Madhu Bala," he said pronouncing her name in an accentuated tone and added, "aha," raising his eyebrows at her. He knew come what may this name would stay with him for the rest of his life.
Trishna and Roma had finally reached home and they were shocked on seeing all the commotion just outside their home. When they pushed past the crowd and saw what was happening they were shocked beyond words. Trishna could not believe her eyes. Was she hallucinating now?
RK, the 'RK', was standing outside her house and next to his – well what the heck was that thought Trishna looking at the wreck beside him which had been a luxury car a moment ago. Next moment her eyes went to the bat in her sister's hand and she was shocked to see her sweet innocent sister standing there looking like a fire breathing dragon.
She gulped hard and tugged at Roma's sleeve.
"Roma what's wrong with glycerine?" she hissed into her ears.
Roma was gaping at the scene like an open mouthed fish and stood there mutely.
RK walked menacingly towards Madhu who took a step back hesitantly. He took off his shades and looked directly into those dreamy doe eyes of hers which now held a little fear in them. Without speaking a word he took the bat from her and shook his head wryly at her.
"Tough nut to crack, aren't you?" he teased her. "Nah you're not up to the mark in this art. I must say I am disappointed."
She had smashed his car to a wreck and had humiliated him in public. But here he stood smirking at her just the way he was a moment ago. She watched in utter bewilderment as he walked back to his car and smashed its front window.
"There now mission accomplished," he added handing the bat to a timid Trishna while Madhu's jaw dropped and her eyes were literally bugging out of their sockets.
"Well if this is all you're fit for I suppose I have a job in hand for you," he told her flashing his cocky attitude at her. "Well I have tons of such toys for disposal. You can drop by my place anytime baby," he added winking at her and put his shades back on.
Bitto who had followed RK reached the place on time to see RK's favourite car completely demolished and then he saw Trishna holding the bat and started shouting at her.
"Oh! I should have known! You small town wanna be's can stoop to any level to grab attention. Do you have any idea what this is gonna cost you? I bet you can't afford even getting a one-time service done for the car and you have smashed it? You wait and watch," he threatened her pointing his finger at her while Trishna was cowering unable to meet his eyes. Madhu came forward and stood in front of her sister protectively and glared at Bitto flashing him a oh-no-don't –you-dare-go-there looks.
"Well speak for yourself! You are nothing more than his chamcha and apart from strutting around this arrogant brat you are fit for nothing else either. So watch your tongue before you say a word about my sister!" she fired back at Bitto.
"You have the nerve? Why you little…" Bittoo began but RK pulled him back.
"Bitto ji calm down. I see you don't have your stress ball with you now. Take a deep breath and relax! It's just a car and I can donate one to a charity case such as this one," he said pointing at Madhu while Madhu fumed at him.
"Just get the hell out of here," she told him viciously dragging a sobbing Trishna away with her while RK never took his eyes off Madhu even for a single moment. Bittoo took RK away with him in his Honda City.
Before getting inside he had one last look at Madhu's chawl and vowed to himself, "One day you'll belong to me all the way baby!"
Back inside Madhu brought Trishna in and tried to console her. Padmini had watched the commotion outside and she was very disappointed in Madhu for making the scene in front of their neighbourhood. Roma was nervously clenching and unclenching her fists pacing restlessly in their small living room.
"Didoo please don't cry. That jerk didn't deserve to have a star like you in his crappy production. I am sure you can do better without him," she told her coaxing her handing her a glass of water. But Trishna shocked her by pushing the glass away from her hand roughly and threw angry glares at her and flinched away from her.
"I suppose now you are happy with whatever you have done, haven't you?" she snapped at Madhu pushing her.
"You were always jealous of me. That's why you did all that didn't you?" she asked her coldly shaking with rage.
Madhu was shocked at Trishna's behaviour.
"Didoo he insulted you. That's why I smashed.."
"Yeah right! You did that for me and I should believe that. By the way you did not smash his car exactly but you smashed my dreams!" she shouted at Madhu sinking onto the floor sobbing incoherently while Roma tried to calm her down.
"Heroine calm down," Roma told her patting her on the back.
"You heard Bittoo ji Roma. Forget RK's film I am sure I won't get a break anywhere else thanks to my own sister," she told her pointing the last words at Madhu giving her a look of pure loathing and marched away from there while Madhu stared after her helplessly with tears in her eyes.
