Parmeet to star in Maayka
Producer Dheeraj Kumar might have taken on the reins of Zee's Maayka. After getting Aruna Irani to play a vindictive mother in law, he wants more established actors in the prime time serial. To get decent TRPs the production house has signed Parmeet Sethi. Parmeet who was last seen doing the lead in a detective show Don has accepted the role. Isn't it a climb down for him — from being a lead to a supporting actor? Parmeet explains, "I don't think so. In the tv world there is no such distinction. The lead can tomorrow be sidelined for a better story track and the 'supporting cast'. There is no guarantee when the story changes and who gets to be the flavour of the month. In fact, I am quite keen on doing this role which is different from the others I have done in the past. There are many details yet to be finalised. I should enter the show in a week or two."
