Shabana's song and dance at college

Shabana Azmi delighted everyone at a function on Sunday when she broke into song and started dancing.
The actress, 58, was in Pune and back after decades in the place that taught her the craft of acting - the Film and Television Institute of India.
She sang Kajra Mohabbat Wala, the classic song from Kisman sung by Shamshad Begum and Asha Bhosle and began dancing in ecstasy the moment she set foot on the campus.

The actress was in Pune for the relaunch of the acting studio in the institute where she studied in the 70s, with her was one of her classmates, Naseeruddin Shah. They went through the ceremonies quickly and then it was time for the fun to begin.

Shabana grabbed the mike on the stage and invited everyone else to also sing, picking out Naseer to sing a song. Naseer didn't remember the words to the song,'Leaving on a jet plane'and kept missing the beat. Shabana was perfect with her numbers.

Asked how she felt to be back in FTII, Shabana said: "I have learnt my acting here and I tell you: It's the best place in the world! Today I have been reminded of my past and it's been a great part of my life. I am proud of myself, that I've been a part of FTII and no one can envisage how thrilled I am to be here."

"I want to celebrate it to the core," she said, "whatever we do today becomes the past tomorrow and I want to enjoy this day and cling to it in my heart forever."

Other alumni of the institute include Saeed Mirza, Anupam Kher, Tom Alter, Raza Murad and Jaya Bachchan.
