Drive home the drunk

For many people, a New Year party is incomplete without hitting a high (take your pick from wine, rum, vodka, beer, whisky, etc.). But ever since the Maharashtra Traffic Police has been hauling up hundreds of drivers for drunk driving, Mumbai's nightlife has suffered a huge blow.

But every problem has a solution. Mishal Raheja, more famous as Akash, the intense college boy who will go to any lengths for his love in the Anurag Basu's TV serial: Love Story has hit upon a do-gooder entrepreneurial venture.

No no, Mishal has not been caught for drunk driving! He and two of his college mates/friends Ankur Vaid and Saurabh Shah have come up with Party Hard Drivers (PHD), a service providing sober drivers on call for those youngsters who want to party hard all night and then not drive back home drunk.

This will save the revelers embarrassment (or rather harassment) at the hands of traffic havaldars subjecting them to breathe analysis tests. But more importantly, PHD hopes to reduce accidents caused by drunk driving.

But why the rising screen star Mishal take the initiative to launch PHD?

" A few months back when I was partying with my friends, I noticed that some of them were high and while returning home in cars had near-death experiences. It was really scary!" admits Mishal.

With police launching a crack down, " people actually stopped going out, drinking and hanging out together. Every thing was getting boring!"

Mishal, Ankur and Saurabh then hit upon PHD. " Why not organize drivers-on-hire for the party goers? They can party without worry about how to return home safely!

Mishal is dedicated to PHD. " I take care of the marketing; I think like client. I ask myself, ' What are my needs? How much would I pay for service like this? ' says Mishal. "

The PHD office functions from the south Mumbai area of Fort. " We have an online website. We will soon start the credit card facility and people can go online and we will get back to them about the service in an hour's time, " adds Mishal. " We have more than 80 drivers, all hired through references. "

A special facility has been provided for single women: for them there is older man at the wheel. The PHD rate card? Rs 500 from 9pm to 3am and Rs 50 extra thereafter.

So, all you party animals in Mumbai, let your hair down and let the PHD safely deposit you home.

Hic Hic Hurray!!!

Hi!! Friends, I saw this article in T2 day before yesterday, and thought of sharing it with you all! Hope this article has not been posted here already. If posted mods are free to close it!

But the best thing is that Mishal, and his joint venture: PHD rescues all the partygoers in Mumbai.

I want to only say this to Mishal " A great thought indeed Mishal! It's a great beginning of your New Year. All the best for you're project. "
