Part- 10

When Naina came down with Rajveer, they got the most cheer from cadets than any other couple who entered in the hall now. Raj & Naina both avoided to stand on the meter but Cadets' insisted and they both got 10 points for Raj being a cool guy and for Naina being a hot gal. Soon after that, Naina looked around and found Dr. Mishra with her date Major Niar. Naina was actually sympathizing with Ritu as she had to come with MC. Naina & Raj were standing in a corner talking to each other.

Naina- Do you know who Dr. Shalini's date is?

Raj- No… but she will be here soon so you will find out. (He was actually bit surprised at Naina's curiousness) I can't believe you are so eager to find that out.

Naina- And I can't believe you are not…

Meanwhile Raj looked upstairs and said- Your wait is over and I think this is definitely worth the wait.

Naina also looked in that direction to find shalini coming with Brigadier chandok.

Everyone cheered for them too mainly at Dr. shalini and BC for coming because he had to dance first to start this ball officially. Cadets' wait was over and soon they can join their partners on dance floor after BC's formal dance.

The dance started and it was quite boring for cadets. Captain Rajveer and Naina & Major Niar and Dr. Ritu also joined BC and Dr. Shalini. They danced formally for a while and Raj was amazed as how naina can dance so amazingly formally knowing how much she hated these dances.

All the cadets including suriji & lolitaji were getting bored and Huda had to do something as he was there to enjoy and He changed the music to the tune where cadets can dance.

Cadets started dancing and after some time, BC & MC left from the ball. Raj, shalini & Naina were remained there and so was Dr. Mishra but she was more enjoying her drinks than the party.

Shalini- so captain, why don't you dance on this song?

Raj- I think that time had passed shalini.

Naina- Yeah, Raj had become old.

Shalini smiled and raj made annoyed face at her.

Shalini- so you don't mind joining them on the dance floor.

Naina- Of course not… This is the music I like rather than that boring one… how about you and me join them… I hope cadets won't mind.

Huda who was passing from there heard that conversation.

Huda- sure, we wouldn't mind ma'am, naina.

Raj- yeah, you guys go ahead…

Huda- That's not fair sir, you have to give us company too.

Raj- But cadet huda…

Before he could say anything else, huda made announcement that Captain Rajveer would dance on filmy songs.

Raj glared at Huda but he was not going to bother at all.

Reluctantly, Raj came on the dance floor and danced on a song and soon shalini & naina and other cadets joined them.

Naina was so enjoying the dance as she was used to this when she was in college but it was long time ago.

After the dance, suriji announced Mr. Fresher to cadet aalekh and Ms. Fresher to cadet riya. Everyone was happy except huda who was a bit jealous but it wasn't that big of a deal.

Now cadets started to dance more, and shalini, raj & Naina were sitting around a table talking to each other while ritu came totally drunk and started talking about how raj broke her heart by not telling him that he was married.

Raj was horrified and Shalini was uncomfortable as she knew raj never gave any signs that he was ever interested in Ritu. Raj was worried about how Naina would think and at some point so was Dr. Shalini. But Naina wasn't bothered at all. Actually she was finding that bit funny the whole situation.

Shalini asked suriji to assist an orderly to help Dr. ritu to her room and suriji did that gladly not wanting Dr. ritu to be an obstacle between Raj & Naina.

After they left, shalini started different conversation about Naina's dance.

Shalini- so naina, you can dance well both on filmy songs and formals.

Naina- well yeah, I and my friends were used to dance on functions at our college and most of them were based on filmy songs.

Shalini- Then Raj must have taught you the formal dance, right?

Naina- No actually, it was my other friend gunny who taught me that dance.

Shalini- Gunny? Strange name…

Hearing this name, raj started to think something and shalini noticed that too and so did naina but since the conversation was started she had to finish it.

Naina- Actually, his friends call him gunny. His formal name is Captain Gautam Mehra… He is also in the army and he taught me one of those dances when he invited me to one formal dance in the army.

Meanwhile, the cadets came there and insisted teachers to dance with them. Raj & Shalini joined them but Naina didn't as she was thinking something. Shalini noticed the whole scenario and she thought that this person really meant special in both Naina and Raj's life.

After the ball was over, everyone went back to their respective rooms.

Raj sensed that Naina didn't say a word on their way coming back.

Raj- Naina… I am…… but before Raj could say anything else, Naina interrupted.

Naina- Raj, I don't want to talk about anything… good night…

Raj (reluctantly)- Good night…

Preview: Entry of Major Bhargav and Entry of Captain Gautam Mehra aka Gunny (played by Ankur Nayyar)

Part- 11

The other morning was quiet usual between Raj & Naina as they both engaged themselves in their regular activities. Some more days passed like that and Raj & Naina started to decrease distance between them what was in past three years.

One evening, shalini & Raj were talking about something in his room when Naina entered after meeting cadets in the mess.

Shalini- Hi, Naina, You had been busy for few days. I didn't see you in a while.

Naina- Yeah sorry, it's just a lot of work right now and we are on edge of finishing our project so… anyways, I was in the mess and cadets were talking about appraisals. What are they?

Raj- We were just discussing about that matter. From Next week, military board is going to send an army official to check on progress of first year cadets and all faculty members. That person is going to be here for at least two to three months to observe and then present the report in front of military board, so cadets as well as we have to work harder too.

Naina- Do you know, who is the officer?

Shalini- No, they don't tell us beforehand as they always came as surprise and sometimes as shocks.

Raj- yeah but whoever that could be, we are ready and our cadets are ready too.

Naina- Well then good luck as you guys need from next week.

Shalini & Raj- Thanks…

Three days later:

It was the middle of the night and every one was sleeping peacefully, when the morning alarm goes off, and every cadet woke up with the sound of the alarm. Even faculty members were awake too.

Raj checked the clock and he was surprised as it was 2:00 a.m. and the morning alarm regularly goes off at 5:00 a.m. Naina was very much annoyed because she never liked to be disturbed when she was asleep.

Naina (annoyingly)- What is it, Raj? Now they are not going to let sleep at night either…

Raj- It must be something important so let's go out and check what it is.

Naina- Why don't you go and do that as I would like to go back to sleep.

Raj- Naina, come on it could be an emergency.

Naina reluctantly got up and went outside with Raj. They made their way to main hall where almost all of the cadets and faculty members were present.

Pooja- Why couldn't they wait until our battery is recharged and we usually don't have enough time to sleep anyways….

Huda- Lagta hai, koi pagal academy main ghoos gaya hai aur hum sab ko pagal bana raha hai.

Aalekh- Apun ko wapas sone ke liye ab ek aur bottle chahiye hogi…

Riya- Tu aur teri bottle… Pata hai aadhi raat main neend disturb hone se my face will have to suffer. My skin needs enough rest after a facial which I did just last night..

Ali- It must be important. Let's see what they say.

Yudi- The hell, it better be….

And everybody waits; BC steps up with Major Niar and another stern looking bold headed officer who is observing everyone very sharply.

BC- Attention, cadets.

Everyone stands in attention while BC continues.

"Cadets, I would like to introduce you the officer who is going to be in charge of appraisal from today and as well as he will be in charge of your drills for next two months or so" BC refers to the bold officer, "This is Major Bhargav."

"Well cadets as I can see none of you are even compatible up to military standards… and you're all going to have to do a lot of work to impress me during the next month because otherwise you won't be here in the academy."

MB- Now, all of you will go for a jog with a rifle on their head and will keep jogging until I tell you to stop.

All cadets stared at him in horror as why this man was making their lives hell in the middle of night.

But another shout from him and every one reluctantly goes to jog as ordered.

Now, Major Bhargav finally spots Raj who is standing with Dr. Shalini, Naina and Suriji. He comes to them and a mocking smile comes to his face.

"So, captain Rajveer, we meet again… It had been a long time, isn't it?" He tells Raj.

"Yes sir, it had been four years." Raj answers curtly.

"Yeah, when last time we met, I was the one who was fighting the case against you about your traitor friend Navin Singh Ahluwalia and I won, didn't I?" Major Bhargav mocks him with an evil smile on his face.

Rajveer looks at him angrily as his nightmare just came back and Naina stares at this man with disgust look in her eyes. They all leave from there.

In the room:

Raj was angry and Naina noticed that Major Bhargav's arrival was irritating him.

Naina- Raj, he is here for few months and I am sure you all will get through this.

Raj- Every time, he comes he has to open old wounds of mine. I know he hates me and he hated Naveen but why does he have to do that?

Naina- He gets happiness when you react back with frustration and anger. It's his style not to just defeat enemy but also humiliate the enemy. If you won't react at all when he comments, he will stop on his own.

Raj- And how would you know that about him? I never mentioned him before and I don't think Naveen did that either.

Naina- There is one person in the army who knows Major Bhargav very well and he is also his biggest enemy.

Raj- I think I know who you are talking about, gunny right?

Naina- Yup, gunny.

Raj smiles at her, and Naina goes back to sleep while Raj just headed to the mess as he needed a cup of coffee to get his energy back.

In the morning, cadets were back and exhausted. They had to go to their regular classes after they fresh up and they had just two hours to get shower and breakfast. Captain Rajveer and Dr. Shalini were already in the mess along with other faculty members just to make sure that MB doesn't change breakfast at least for today as cadets already suffered a lot last night.

Major Bhargav was observing the academy where he spotted Naina in her casual clothes t-shirt, Capri and a jacket. She was heading for her regular routine and MB stopped her.

MB- Where do you think you are going in this attire at this time?

Naina turned around and looked at Major Bhargav in surprise as why is he stopping her and asking her questions?

Naina- Are you talking to me?

MB- Yes, I am and when a senior officer is present, you have to stand in attention lady. It's against the rules and disrespectful in the army so you better stand in attention and answer my question.

Naina – I am going out of the academy and where it's none of your business Major.

MB- You will get thrown out for this kind of behavior cadet… Just because you are senior cadet and not first year cadet, that doesn't mean you can talk to your superior officer in rudely manner.

Naina- You can't stop me or ask me any kinds of question as you don't have any right or my permission to do that. And F.Y.I., neither I am a cadet nor officer.

After saying that she left from there and MB stared at her furiously. He noticed that Brigadier chandok was coming from the other side and greeted that lady warmly and the lady also greeted him warmly.

BC came to MB after greeting Naina.

MB was still in shock as how Naina talked him.

BC- Major Bhargav, good morning…

MB- Good morning, sir… If you don't mind my asking, who was the person you just greeted?

BC- Oh, that was Naina. Mrs. Naina singh shekhwat, captain Rajveer's wife…

BC left from there after answering him leaving Major Bhargav surprised.

MB- Naina singh shekawat… Captain Rajveer's wife… Interesting… She has got a certain attitude just like her husband.

In the afternoon,

Shalini, Raj & Ritu were having lunch since it seemed a very long day after Major Bhargav's arrival.

It was then MB entered the mess, and joined them without asking their permission.

Suriji brought MB's lunch without any interest.

MB- So, I introduced myself and I already know Captain Rajveer and suriji while I like to know about two beautiful ladies.

Dr. Shalini(with disinterest)- I am Captain Dr. Shalini singhal, academy's doctor.

Ritu- Dr. Ritu Mishra, academy's psychiatrist.

MB- Well, nice to meet you ladies, and by the way Captain Rajveer, I met your wife in the morning. I didn't know you were married?

Rajveer looks at him with anger and replies him- Well now you know sir… I hope your first meeting with Naina was good…

MB- It certainly was interesting…

Rajveer and shalini left from there as they had classes and MB stayed there along with Ritu.

Ritu- So, you met Naina, Major…

MB looked at Ritu and thought that she was quite interested in Naina and she might know things about her.

MB- Yeah, I did. And her attitude just reminded me of someone, someone whom I know very well, but I just can't put my finger on it. Just one meeting and her answers looked like that she knows me quite well.

Ritu was interested but MB was just talking to himself so Ritu decided to have this conversation some other time.

At evening, raj was working on his teaching material for next day when naina entered the room tired.

Raj (smiled)- long day?

Naina- You have no idea but very interesting one….

Raj- So you met Major Bhargav today…

Naina- Yeah, meeting Major Bhargav was an experience. He better not irritate me here or he would regret it…

Raj(smiled)- I can imagine the state of person who will get the other end of your anger.

Naina- And why is that?

Raj- I am saying with my experience as I still remember, you were angry at me, naveen & gunny when we tried to give you military training for a day.

Naina smiled back remembering that day when she was about to shoot all three of them at the end of the day.

Naina- I would have shot you guys if your dad didn't have come between…

Raj- I think we were lucky that dad interrupted….

Raj realized that all memories of their past weren't painful, and in fact some of them were able to give smile to them whenever needed.

Part- 12

Naina had finished all preliminary work for her project and she didn't have any other work for next month as she had to wait for officials' reports to start the actual work. So she was free. On the other hand, Major Bhargav had started to drive everyone crazy in the academy with his stupid rules. One evening Raj and Naina were in their room alone when Raj got a phone call from his senior officer.

Raj- Jay Hind sir…

Sir- Captain, I have some news to tell you. I am assigning you an officer who will be your partner in this mission.

Raj- But sir, everything here is under control, and why would I need someone else's help? Don't you trust me anymore?

Sir- Don't be silly captain, of course I trust you and you will know the reason when you meet your partner. Your partner will arrive tomorrow morning and assigned in KMA as Weapons teacher.

Raj- Ok sir, Jay Hind…

After Raj finished his call, he looked a little upset.

Naina- What happened?

Raj- They are assigning me a partner in this mission.

Naina- What? Who is your partner?

Raj- I know that tomorrow. I only know that the new weapons teacher is my partner. Now how will I investigate about Naveen's innocence?

Naina- Don't worry, it will be all right. I know you will find a way. I am with you.

Raj- Thanks….

Naina smiled at him but inside she was also worried about this new partner's arrival.

First year cadets were in distress after MB's arrival. Our five cadets had already received more than hard punishments from Major Bhargav because of they refused to follow his rules. They all were pissed and talking about that on the ground.

Huda- ye saala mogambo, Hitler ki khandan se hai kya? Jab bhi dekho punishment sunata rehta hai?

Aalekh- Pehli baar tune koi sahi baat boli Huda, ye saala apun logo ki vaat lagane lag gaya hai.

Pooja- Meri to battery hi nahi chalti ab? Agar aisa hi connection raha na to main to wapas chali jaaongi…. Maine to apne papaji se keh diya hai ek hafte main isne ek bhi aur punishment di to main ye KMA chod doongi…

Ali- Kaisi baatein kar rahi hai aap Pooja? Kya thodi si punishment ke dar se aap Army chod degi?

Riya- Pooja is lucky, lekin main to KMA chod bhi nahi sakti…. Mere dad ki wajah se. He is too strict about these things…

Yudi- My dad wants me to leave KMA the day I got here but if MB keeps his punishments like this, then my dad's intensions will be fulfilled about me leaving KMA.

Naina heard their conversation and she realized that she needed to do something to boost these cadets' confidence. Naina was thinking when Aalekh saw her.

Aalekh- Are Naina, tum yahan pe?

Naina- I just heard whatever you said guys, and I know it's not easy to face this situation but it's just for few more days and I know that if anyone could do it, then it's you guys. You can face everything together, isn't it?

Huda- Wo sab to theek hai Naina, lekin this is just nightmare. If you would be our place, then you would have quit too.

Naina- Nahi Huda, main quit karne main yakeen nahi rakhti.

Yudi- so you are saying that you can suffer Major Bhargav's rules…

Naina- Of course I can and you guys are training for months so you can do that too.

Major Bhargav came outside at that time and he had heard when Naina said that she can easily tackle MB's rules.

MB came there and everyone stood in attention.

MB- Well Mrs. Shekhawat, I didn't know that you are interested in military training?

Naina- Excuse me….

MB- Nahi wo aap abhi abhi jo cadets ko bata rahi thi us se mujhe aisa laga… Lekin let me tell you one thing… Military training is not for civilians and you possibly couldn't understand anything about it so why don't you keep your advice to yourself unless you are willing to join our military training.

Huda- Sir, Naina is our friend and she is just talking to us.

MB- I didn't ask you Cadet Huda, so just shut up…

Naina- And what if I can survive your training?

MB- Is that a challenge?

Naina- You can say that… what if I can survive your training for three weeks? Would you change your tactics for the cadets?

MB- Well if you put it that way, then I really want to see how much strength do you have? I bet you couldn't even last for one day…

Naina- Well then let's make a deal. I will be participating every day drills with first year cadets for three weeks and I can complete that successfully, you will give the best report of appraisals to KMA and leave these cadets alone.

MB- Well you should ask Captain Rajveer about your decision first, and then we will talk to Brigadier chandok about this.

He left with a smirk on his face and cadets stood there worried…

Ali- ye aap ne kya kiya Naina, you shouldn't make a deal with Major Bhargav like that. You can't survive his training.

Naina- Don't worry I can do that……

Huda- Yeah right, ye koi business deal karna nahi, ye military training hai…

Naina just smiled and left from there saying that everything will be all right.

Major Bhargav informed Rajveer about Naina's decision and Rajveer was shocked.

Raj- How could you say that Naina? You can't go to the training with these cadets. It's hard and you are not used to it.

Naina- I am going to do it Raj, and you are not going to stop me. In fact you should support me in this…

Raj- Look Naina, I know you are a very independent person and you can take your own decisions. I respect that but in this case, it's Major Bhargav and he hates me. I don't want him to take out his frustration on you. Besides you don't have any military training before so I can't let you do that.

Naina- Just give me one chance to prove that and trust me. We will be going to talk to Brigadier Chandok.

Raj reluctantly went with Naina as he had no other choice. He knew that once Naina makes up her mind about something, she will do it.

Major Bhargav had already discussed that with BC and Major Nair and they both disagree on that idea but Major Bhargav talked to Major Nair and he agreed after that but Brigadier Chandok was against that.

Shalini, Ritu, Suriji were also there. Shalini and Suriji were against that too and Ritu didn't say anything about that topic as she wasn't interested.

BC- This is not possible, Mrs. Shekhawat. You are here as a faculty member's wife and we can't let you participate in our training.

Naina- I understand sir that but I am just saying that I can participate in training as I don't want to become liability to anyone. What if something happens in KMA, then you all will be responsible to protect people who are not trained. And besides, it's not like that I don't know anything about this training.

She handed a file to Brigadier Chandok to read and he was impressed after he read that file.

BC- Well I certainly can say that you are capable to participate in this training and I know this is very unusual of me but I will let you participate in the training except Captain Rajveer's classes or drills.

Naina- Thank you…

After everyone left, BC stopped Rajveer to talk to him in private.

BC- Captain Rajveer, your wife is really courageous person and I think I know the reason why she is doing that?

Rajveer- Sir, I didn't understand….

BC- Actually I heard the conversation between Naina and Major Bhragav in the morning and then he narrated the whole scene to Rajveer.

Rajveer was very surprised when he came to know that Naina had taken this step to stop Major Bhargav's harassing.

BC- I also think that Major Bhargav's training tactics are not appropriate but I can't object to them as he is representative of higher command but I think Naina's deal will either make him understand his mistakes or at least make him stop his inappropriate rules.

Rajveer- Thank you sir, but that depends on Naina's success now, and Major Bhargav is going to make it tough for her.

BC- Naina can handle Major Bhargav's training; after all she is your wife and Captain Naveen's sister so she must have heard about him from both of you.

Raj was shocked when he heard Brigadier Chandok.

BC- I knew when I first met her at the party. Your father had told me everything captain. Don't worry; I am not going to reveal it to anyone. I don't know whether Captain Naveen was traitor or he was innocent but I don't believe that Naina or her family should get punished because of her brother.

Raj- Thank you sir.

He stepped out of the cabin, and he was relaxed to know that BC accepted Naina into his academy also after knowing the fact that Naveen was her brother. But he was also worried at the same time as he didn't know what MB was going to do.

Every cadet was talking about Naina being the part of their training. It was something new for them.

After Raj and Naina reached their room, Raj told Naina about What Brigadier Chandok had talked to him about. Naina was happy to know that BC accepted her and he was also supporting to them to oppose MB in his own way.

Raj warned Naina about some aspects of the training and told her to take care of herself as he won't be able to help her in anyway.

The other morning, Brigadier Chandok was working on some files when someone knocked on the door. He looked up to see an officer standing at his door step.

Officer- May I come in sir?

BC- Welcome to KMA, Captain Gautam Mehra (aka Gunny)

Gunny- Sir, this is my appointment letter. I am posted at KMA as weapons teacher.

BC- I know Captain and I had already set up your room in KMA. It is right next to Captain Shekhawat's room. I will tell orderly to take you there.

Gunny- It's ok sir, I will find it by myself. No need to worry… I will take your leave.

BC- You have a class with first year cadets in three hours so I will come and introduce you to the class.

Gunny- Thank you sir.

Naina had already gone to attend Lolitaji's history class as she started her training from today. Rajveer didn't have any class until that afternoon so he was working on his report when someone knocked on the door.

He went to open the door and he was shocked to see the person who was standing at the door.

Raj- Gunny? Tum yahan?

Gunny- you are looking at me like you had seen the ghost of the Christmas past. Can't I come here?

Raj- No no, please come in…

He came in and they both hugged each other.

Raj- So what brings you here?

Gunny- I am here posted as weapons teacher and rest you know it.

Raj(surprised)- So that's why sir told me that I won't have any problem working with my partner.

Gunny- It's glad that I am back… I am here to be with you to protect triggers and to get proofs of Naveen's innocence.

Raj- I am really glad that they send you for this.

Gunny- So How is Naina? Has she come back from London yet or not?

Raj understood that Gunny was unaware of Naina's arrival at KMA.

Raj(smirk)- well we will talk about her later. You should settle down first.

Gunny- They have given me room just next to you so I will go and unpack and I have a class with first year cadets in three hours so I will see you after the class.

Raj- All right then bye…

No, she doesn't love gunny or someone else... their marriage was a total different issue that will be revealed in the story and gunny is their friend who will be help Raj to win Naina's love.
