Ankur Nayar must be the only actor who finds cameos far more exciting than lead roles that go on for years. He has done both family dramas and action-adventure shows. But his personal favourites are the latter. "the problem with family dramas is that they go on endlessly whereas action. I am keen on doing anything that excites me. But I find it difficult to carry on with one role for a long time," he says. He also doesn't mind stepping into someone's shoes as a replacement as long as the role is meaty. "Replacements are the 'in' thing today. It doesn't bother me whether the character is negative or positive as long I get to play a good role. In any case, these days it's difficult to have a long vision about any role because TRPs determine the colour of the character," he says. He was enjoying his innings as Captain Randhawa in Left Right Left. But with the show going for a new set of characters in its third season, Ankur is back to doing a daily family drama. "Well, I started my career with Kasauti and in the last seven years have done quite a few family dramas. But I have had a great time working in Kohinoor and Left Right Left because action and adventure shows are more exciting," he says. So how does he find his role in Ghar Ek Sapna where he has replaced Ujwal Rana in the lead role? "The channel and producer were keen that I do the role after Ujwal decided to quit. Since I enjoy a certain comfort level with the channel I agreed," he says. Link:www.deccan.com |
