Hi there. As promised, here is the analysis of 24/7.
Well the show began with a continuation of the previous scene where Abhimanyu is trying to get information out of Pooja. The tone of exasperation in which he said 'how can you be so naive?' seemed very natural... is this how Gaurav says it in real life as well?... there was an added layer of frustration today, which had been missing yesterday... there was also the attempt to explain things to her, to help though the exasperation was still there... what i loved was the absolute giving up, the disgust when she said 'aur majboori mein ya toh signal cut jaata hai ya cross connection ho jaata hai'... the way he turned away from her had that 'and this is your level of understanding, this is your level of existence' attitude to it... i loved it because i personally find the use of mobile lingo very stupid... the other thing that i liked was that when Pooja agrees to help him, there was no immediate elation, no sense of victory or joy... in fact the immediate reaction was one of surprise, then there was a calmness, a lack of reaction... deliberate to Abhimanyu since he has to establish authority... And when Gaurav had to say 'aapke doston ke signals nahi kaatenge', i couldnt control my laughter.... though he said it very sincerely. Thankfully he had to say it only once and it was substituted by the more sensible 'kisi ka bura nahi hoga'... then there was a look of determination, when he said 'this is a fight between me and Capt Rajveer'... and after she left, the determination changed to a fatalistic look, which is where the scene ended.
The scene among the cadets was so illogical and so full of inconsistencies of character that i shall not even venture there... Let it be, but let it not be seen/ or analysed by me!
Then there was the scene with Major Nair... Gaurav did it with his usual competence... the dialogues were spoken crisply and well delivered, the lines kept Major Nair's insecurities in mind and so were well written, though perhaps it becomes too subtle vis-a-vis Abhimanyu's character... then he may not get the benefit of doubt that he is saying this to justify his course of action to Major Nair, who he knows will favour a more arbitrary or more ruthless course of action... here, given the fact that the audience is confused about Abhimanyu, it may be assumed that the desire to catch the cadets red handed is Abhimanyu's own... why does the scriptwriter have to be subtle only here and no where else?! uffffffffffffffffffffff.
The next scene of Gaurav was where he is waiting in the main hall for it to be 12 before he can catch the cadets while they are breaking his musical instruments... dramatic scene and the drama was captured well... Gaurav is back to intense with a capital I and therefore the very way in which he stood there was different... it conveyed intensity and a waiting similar to waiting to catch one's prey during a hunt.
So the instruments are broken and i shall see his reactions tomo... cant wait to watch this one... have heard so much about it.
So by next Monday this slow and separate engine will catch up with the present track. 😊 See ya all tomo.
