Selective Musing of 13th June episode

Shevtal is busy and asked me to do Gaurav playing Abhimanyu scenes analysis. Oh how can I match her passionate and in-depth analysis. Well here is an attempt with the hope you all like it.

They show Abhi sitting with his cycle which he calls spaceship (Mr Dialogue writer pl we know you are in awe of Discovery shuttle and Sunita but pl this is a bad simile) Next the way Abhi says 'Bade serious lag rahe ho, lagta toh kuch aisa hi hai' to Raj (Rajveer) was a lot AB style.(Shevs don't get angry it did) In response to Raj abt being a great soldier he stands up and smiles to say " seekha toh yahi hai". He is serious yet friendly trying to understand his friend and support him. When Raj says he will go alone he feels worried and asks him "Hero banne ja rahe ho, kisi ko saath mein" here he makes the urgency and concern sound so normal by saying Hero banne instead of saying more serious line like " Tumhari jaan ko khatra…..akele nahi jao". This is good work on part of Director/dialogue writer. When Raj disagrees and painfully tells him to inform Naina that he lost , Abhi hears it quietly and is facing down lifts his face and calls out saying "hamari dosti mein kuch difference of opinion rahe hai but we respect each other… hamesha se kuch chezee hai joh main kehna chata tha that 'I respect you as a soldier/human being/friend" Abhi is serious and honest. This was well delivered and controlled. There is no over the top dialogues or drama. The two friends hug but there could have been a pat of on the shoulder or some excitement in the presentation of the scene. Although the scene was good but the director somehow made it lack in something. It seemed incomplete. May be if they showed a little more 'josh' towards the end it could have made the impact. It seemed as if Abhi finally made a move to cross over the hesitation that was in-between the two friends and looks up as if sighing.

Now the scene is with Naina where he says Akele baitne aye hai, hum bhi… picnic Please Mr Director why picnic now that spoiled the beauty of the scene. Yu hi shanti se baat karte hue dikha dete toh mazza aa gata. Something like they were both introspecting. But there were good dialogues here too. Abhi tells Naina to close her eyes and think (Please this closing of eyes think is becoming repetitive and irksome) still the lines were good. They were something like we have to understand people, situations and the choices made whether we agree or not. Now this was really meaningful. Good work-Dialogue writer). He continues why Naveen chose Raj and why he took the decision we do not know. So we cannot say who is right and who is wrong. Abhi then reasons out to Naina that "yeh chehra toh khud aapke samne aya hai… nahi anna chahtata toh kabhi nati …." another great line. Here he has made Naina think where she is concluding incorrectly. In the end he firmly tells her that "waqt aa gaya hai hum teeno ek doosre ko samzhe aur talashe kare … right and wrong."

Its noteworthy that Abhi is able to make Naina see and understand things from a different perspective. Naina bonds with him very well and relates to the point of view he shares. Abhi is not forceful or imposing its just that his voice is so engrossing that half the battle is won. Naina I think trusts him and is more comfortable sharing her thoughts with him just as with a friend. There is sort of "I wont judge you" kind of agreement.

In all great scenes and dialogues and yes I said a lot and can go on and on… Now share your views.

I think you mean Abhi was funny in the picnic scene yes he was.😃 ANd you have rightly said he wants Naina to understand the stituations and the decisions. This will help Naina to be at ease.

i disagree at one point that 'ABHI CHAHTA HAI KI NAINA APNI GALTI KO SAMJHE"......

in my opinion..abhi doesn't think that naina is wrong..cuz he completely understand what she is passing through..but yes he wants her to understand raj & his situation in which he shot navin..... TODAY..FOR THE FIRST TIME ..HE OPENLY DEFENDED RAJ....& made her realise that don't see things as the way they seem..but try to understand the meaning behind them.

Nice Effort Lirh... Keep it up...👏

Well I dun know somebody will agree with me or not... Infact I liked yesterday's episode a lot.... well as the scene started... he was working on his bicycle... as he was speaking " His highness"... his discomfort over the fact and his respect were quite visible as always...

The scene where he asked Rajveer.." Hero banne ja rahe ho... Kissi ko saath le jao"... gaurav has a unique style of delivering such lines... where he doesnot want to leave his cared ones alone... I noticed this in ADHM when he talks to rusty just before they go to Kiron Kher's res..dialogue was..." Tumse koi jeet sakta hai..."... then he said to Naina.." Atleast aap phir se jeena.." and now this is third time I have seen the same expression on his face.... lifting his eyes while face slightly down and expressing more from eyes than words... I think I have learnt to read this expression over a period of time ... so I could predict what he wants to communicate even before he started to speak...

Then finally those lines of friendship... "I respect you as a friend.."... and then they hugged...I didn't find anything missing here... Lirh, I understand what you are trying to say... actually a pat on the shoulder etc would have made the scene little lighter./..but this scene to me was an emotional moment... I am sure guys dun say such things to their friends.... As fas as I read Abhimanyu and Rajveer have a friendship that has understanding at a deeper lavel.. but both have very strong convictions as he said we always have difference of opinions ... but actually that makes good friends... thats where from respect comes in a friendship... so when he said I respect you... it was a heavy emotional moment... rajveer was leaving ... he had a threat to his life... Abhimanyu wanted to help him but somewhere knew that he wont take his help... and respected him for that .... I loved this scene as it is...😊

Scene with Naina.... yes there were annoying lines again..." close you eyes..."... I wish dialogue writer could have given some better lines here... as he was trying to help her find a different perspective of the whole situation... he could have given his points of views... tha would have looked more real... anyway...This was a average scene overall... Though towards the end it got much better when Rajveer callled and said..." hamare dost ki shahadat to..." I liked Gaurav's expression in that scene..😊

good scene was it.(but it could hv been much much better.). ..but a bit of chemistry was mising ..(that is usually present among them)..... emotions required to make this scene touching were absent. (i think if it had been little more long..little more intense...it was capable of bringing tears to eyes..)..but nothing such happened. the lack of chemistry could be cuz that both Abhi & Raj were in different frames of mind. abhi knew that raj is going to check the red box..but somehow..more than that..he was afraid of any mishap with raj. for raj...it was the most intense situation when finally he was abt to complete his mission but at the same time..he was constantly occupied by the thought of the success or failure...& more than that ..his promise to naina & himself.

I too liked yes'day episode😳

may be.. but that I didnt find the scapeship thing amusing😕

I think the lifting of eyes/face and saying dialgues is Gaurav's forte👏.

His face gives a lot of his feleigns in the scene. I liked the scene but in the end the delay in reaction was something that made the impact less. I agree there were emotions flowing in Abhi's words and thats why a little more energy boosts you up.

Scene with Naina.... yes there were annoying lines again..." close you eyes..."... Yes Abhi very beautifully makes Naina to see a different perspective and not to conclude hastily. His voice to makes an impact on you making you yearning for more.😍

Thanks a lot Shweta😳. Yes I too felt something missing in the scene. I agree with the reasons you have cited. May be both were deliberating different things.

Lirh you have done a fantastic job 👏 I think you should take over the task of writing selective musings on a regular basis. 😊
The discussion, as i can see, has been intense. I cant comment on everything right now since i absolutely have to get back to my work, so will just give in my opinion of the episode and come back to all these arguments later.
Yesterday's scenes were not badly written by lrl standards... the dialogues were ok, a bit more compact than they need have been but still better than on most days.
I feel (and this is personal opinion) is that Gaurav was not looking good and that affected the scene.... he was shot badly... by contrast in Four he was looking quite good though i do not really like seeing him in a straightforward 'gooder than good' role (this is something i realised while watching Four yesterday)... in Four the only hint of arrogance was in the line 'why should a man be insecure of boys?'.... the rest was all too good to be true....
I dont have a problem with what he said or how he said it... he did his usual competent job though he too could have done better.... but i have a huge problem with the way he was made to look.
