Selective Musing of 13th June episode
Shevtal is busy and asked me to do Gaurav playing Abhimanyu scenes analysis. Oh how can I match her passionate and in-depth analysis. Well here is an attempt with the hope you all like it.
They show Abhi sitting with his cycle which he calls spaceship (Mr Dialogue writer pl we know you are in awe of Discovery shuttle and Sunita but pl this is a bad simile) Next the way Abhi says 'Bade serious lag rahe ho, lagta toh kuch aisa hi hai' to Raj (Rajveer) was a lot AB style.(Shevs don't get angry it did) In response to Raj abt being a great soldier he stands up and smiles to say " seekha toh yahi hai". He is serious yet friendly trying to understand his friend and support him. When Raj says he will go alone he feels worried and asks him "Hero banne ja rahe ho, kisi ko saath mein" here he makes the urgency and concern sound so normal by saying Hero banne instead of saying more serious line like " Tumhari jaan ko khatra…..akele nahi jao". This is good work on part of Director/dialogue writer. When Raj disagrees and painfully tells him to inform Naina that he lost , Abhi hears it quietly and is facing down lifts his face and calls out saying "hamari dosti mein kuch difference of opinion rahe hai but we respect each other… hamesha se kuch chezee hai joh main kehna chata tha that 'I respect you as a soldier/human being/friend" Abhi is serious and honest. This was well delivered and controlled. There is no over the top dialogues or drama. The two friends hug but there could have been a pat of on the shoulder or some excitement in the presentation of the scene. Although the scene was good but the director somehow made it lack in something. It seemed incomplete. May be if they showed a little more 'josh' towards the end it could have made the impact. It seemed as if Abhi finally made a move to cross over the hesitation that was in-between the two friends and looks up as if sighing.
Now the scene is with Naina where he says Akele baitne aye hai, hum bhi… picnic Please Mr Director why picnic now that spoiled the beauty of the scene. Yu hi shanti se baat karte hue dikha dete toh mazza aa gata. Something like they were both introspecting. But there were good dialogues here too. Abhi tells Naina to close her eyes and think (Please this closing of eyes think is becoming repetitive and irksome) still the lines were good. They were something like we have to understand people, situations and the choices made whether we agree or not. Now this was really meaningful. Good work-Dialogue writer). He continues why Naveen chose Raj and why he took the decision we do not know. So we cannot say who is right and who is wrong. Abhi then reasons out to Naina that "yeh chehra toh khud aapke samne aya hai… nahi anna chahtata toh kabhi nati …." another great line. Here he has made Naina think where she is concluding incorrectly. In the end he firmly tells her that "waqt aa gaya hai hum teeno ek doosre ko samzhe aur talashe kare … right and wrong."
Its noteworthy that Abhi is able to make Naina see and understand things from a different perspective. Naina bonds with him very well and relates to the point of view he shares. Abhi is not forceful or imposing its just that his voice is so engrossing that half the battle is won. Naina I think trusts him and is more comfortable sharing her thoughts with him just as with a friend. There is sort of "I wont judge you" kind of agreement.
In all great scenes and dialogues and yes I said a lot and can go on and on… Now share your views.
