Again, just two scenes of Gaurav today... but he hugged Naina in one, so i'm sure that everyone is ready to bash to him up!! 😆 😆
Well first of all, i want to talk of whats uppermost on my mind... this is a ridiculous show..... what is this entirely nonsensical code?... ok the code mentioned Kiran and Shantanu... how did Huda know on what date those two people got married to each other?.... he called up a record office and got the address of the couple who had married each other four years ago on a certain date... Where did he get that date from?... and what about 'believe in miracles'... how is that related to the rest of the code?
So Huda finds this address... and Abhimanyu and Naina go there and find nothing... Huda tells Rajeev the address... Rajeev goes there and asks about wedding gifts... again, how did Rajeev know that he had to ask for a marriage gift... and Naveen could send a huge box through post which came back to KMA... but Naveen was not in KMA when it was sent... so how could it be sent back there?
Absolutely hopeless...
Anyway, i shall focus on Gaurav's scenes, as usual 😉 😆...
Well today Gaurav both disappointed me and then made up for it... today for the first time since becoming his fan, i saw a scene where he had a close up and i thought 'he didnt do this well'.... this is when Naina tells him that she shot Rajeev, her mentor... and the camera went to his face twice... and he looked blank both times... thoda sa shock ka sense tha.... but he wasnt there.... woh do moments ke liye he just wasnt there.... and then he picked it up... he closed his eyes, leaned his head back and touched his hand to his heart... he was back on track... then there was shock, there was sorrow, there was a realisation of just how important this was to her.
One clarification: I am talking of two close ups only, two shots, two moments of a scene, not of the entire scene... he picked it up from the third frame onwards so this is basically a criticism of a minor part of a scene...something that you would have to pause your media player and see... so please do not make this a Gaurav bashing post.
Anyway, to come back, he picked up pace and was doing a good job when the scene lost it... they drowned out what he was saying in that background music... it was so loud... and his second I'm so sorry was muted.... the background music should not have been so loud... it killed the effect of what he was saying.
The next scene was the two of them outside the jeep... and this is where the Gaurav I like was back.... charming, restrained, subtle... i loved the entire i wanted to be a tennis referee sequence.... i love such weird dreams about what one wants to be in life.... by the way, i wanted to be an engine driver when i was a kid since i loved trains so much, so it does take all kinds to make a world!.... i think he was better than usual in this scene .... the attempt to engage her in conversation, the curiousity about her, the indulgence with which he began to listen and finally the impulse to laugh and the completely unsuccessful attempt to control it.... not that he was trying very hard .... and i loved the way he said 'you're so adorable'... ek toh it was exactly the right word for her at that point... dialogue writer, for once your word was spot on for the situation, so take a bow.... and his smile after he had said it was also different... it was not a passionate smile... it was a more thehra hua smile.... different from the laugh earlier.... more like 'i've just realised this about you and have said it, and i know it is going to make you blush'... i wish they had lingered on that...
I also liked the scene when he is lying back on the jeep and talking about his background... he is sharing it with her but not really so.... he's also having a conversation that he frequently has with himself... i liked the fact that he was looking at the horizon rather than at her... he was not trying to impress her or see her reaction to this story of his childhood.... this is how he must have talked to Naveen, secure in the knowledge that his friend would not judge him for who he was or for what he was saying... ok, now i'm being fanciful so i'll give it a rest now...
When he finally solves it, though what he has solved we'll know only tomorrow, i think the thrice 'yes' and punch in the air was overdone... once or twice at the max... didnt need more than that
Finally, the radio is playing 'yeh dil na hota bechaara' as i write this... i think the song suits Abhimanyu. 😊
Hopefully there will be more scenes of Gaurav tomorrow.
