naina loves raj but does not realise it! she introduces raj as her mentor to her parents. which means that she is very possessive abt him. she always wants him by his side. but that is no longer possible as ritu is with him. if she tries to take his help or wants his support in any matter others might object and all gossips will start again. she will spoil her reputation and raj's and also might spoil his career and future if she gets too close to him. she still trusts him as a mentor and needs his guidance but at the same time will keep a safe distance from him without causing any trouble to him.
i guess that's what she meant.

personally i think she's upset because her brother's gf is now officially raj's gf and raj is not showing any reaction to that matter. he also thinks ritu is telling the truth. naina just can't help wondering whether raj will remain with ritu and support her even after knowing ritu is naveen's gf! if he does that means it is the end of naina's close relationship with raj!and naina definetely is not happy with that fact!
