Epi 55

Only the foolish fall in luv, 😃 kala,s words.. So true i feel, my pov totally cause luv is fraught with too many hurdles. dejection, deception, fear, insecurity, jealousy n so on.

Kala has hit on a jackpot catching supriya n ravi,s secret. But i dont understand the reason of supriya,s hatred towards dutta. She loathes the mere mention of his name. Thats so irritating. Her fear, her distress is understandable but loathe, arrgh! 😕

Ganpat,s drunken banter is always a treat to watch, ganpat speaks from the heart when he,s drunk only overshoots a bit too far when he compares dutta to morey. Gosh, even thou dutta,s profession is not worthy of being emulated atleast he works within the ambit of some principles worthy of emulation. Leela is such a waste of space in the show i feel, she neither has the brains of kala nor the dumbnes of roops to shut up.

Naku sewing n once again drooling, cute scene really only to be spoilt by sups sudden appearance, ediut!

But as you pointed hammie each one is out there to take dutta for a ride, sigh! But the gadha is mulling over his profession, his past n what not.

Epi 56

Kala n her smugness is irritating to say the least n one has to endure it forever n ever till the show lasts, like a thorn in the flesh refusing to come out, sic !

But took some vicarious pkeasure at her antics with sups at the dining table, taunting her.

Dutta seems to have made up his mind already, he will make no more efforts pleasing supriya, it has to be from her side hereon. Supriya is such a cry baby, firstly she couldnt come clean with her parents, she cannot stand dutta, she doesnt have a plan to get out of the sticky situation, yet all she does is spit venom at dutta n wail 😡 But ravi manages to soothe her nerves a bit with his crooked plan. Such a coward, he,s asking his love to entice another man with her beauty to escape.

So baji is the next bakra falling for supriya,s charms. In his eagerness to see his bhao settled, thinks more like AS.

Naku is almost sidelined here. Dutta is the prized posession for all to achieve their own ends. Roops trying to convince baji for the dance was cute, always they made a nice pair if roops was reformed .

Epi 57

God! What a nautanki all just in the name of pleasing bhao, but ends up antagonising him, atleast he shows it to baji with a resounding slap for his efforts. Yes hammie, baji,s OTT antics didnt irritate just bhao but me too as a reader. It was like why was baji falling all over, after his friend,s life, doesnt he know his likes n dislikes? But baji had promised supriya vahniji.. 😃

Dutta ultimately falls in line.. when all fail kala wins. But i enjoyed suds n leela,s act, the choice of songs were good, more to come with the precap showing supriya the beautiful puppet enticing dutta.

But the show was in a phase where there was a deliberate attempt to drag n many elements were added to give them time for the showdown. In a way, all the preparations for the marriage finally throws up the most shocking anticlimax which really stole the thunder when it does happen. The viewer,s patience is tested till then.

Epi 58

Yes, dutta ko mazak pasand nahi.. 😉 Bechara "once bitten twice shy". He is constantly reminded of supriya,s odd behaviour in his presence . But supriya has made up her mind to follow the plan hatched by ravi. Baji assisting her unknowingly. The whole family rejoicing at dutta,s cost, none bothered at his discomfort.

Amidst all the nach gana we are witness to one of the most outrageous dance from ganpat n baji. I still remember vividly every move of ganpat on the floor n the unabashed baji swinging arms n legs all over the place. It was hilarious to say the least. It was even more amusing to see dutta springing on his feet every few minutes ready to leave. Then we have the beautiful number where supriya gives her best shot to prove a point.

Meanwhile we have naku once again slipping into her dreamland, the most watched dream scene of dutta naku, "jaane kya baat hai"... But the irony is dutta is not interested in any of this. God! Such a stubborn khadoos he can be.

Baji is relentless in his efforts n once again sets up his friend for the moonlit dinner. Naku is in one of the most unenviable situations yet eagerly participates in baji,s efforts.

Hammie your footnote was brilliant, especially comparing dutta,s frequent "i quit" act with the many other,s display of talent, but there were no takers to his scowl faced single line act 😆

Naku has got a big heart . . .to see the person she loves getting married to someone else the hardest thing is to hide the pain but i feel naku's love is beyond that she is willing to do anything to bring happiness in his life.

Episode ~68

31st March 2010

Pre-nuptial celebration

The episode starts at this point, where Dutta's haldi preparation are underway. Kala joins Leela ,Roops .. stands between her sisters, gets a handful of haldi lumps looks at them, then looks at Ravi and Supriya with best wishes for them in her eyes and drops the haldi in the mortar...and says to her sisters, crush it properly .. crush it ,as if you're crushing the happiness of your enemy... the colour of the turmeric will bring a twist in the story..and the evil trio smile.

Leela sneers did you see the card that has been printed? on our weddings just a piece was given to all. One of the servant comes and says to Supriya's mother, she'll take over the crushing from her. Aye Sahib laughs and says, no let her carry on, our dil's face should be radiant... Naku looks down expressionless. Aye sahib wishes, our daughter's life should be filled with brightness, and the turmeric should surely include the touch of a mother's love.

Supriya's mother smiles and says, my daughter is very fortunate and Aye Sahib agrees.Aye Sahib says with a smile, take a look at the beautiful card Dutta has for the wedding. On the outside he is very tough but inside his heart is very tender. His sisters smile tongue in cheek, and Aye Sahib says , will somebody sing a song! that ushers in happiness and makes it stay here for ever. Naku smiles.

Aye in high spirits cajoles Babi to sing a song, who looks at Naku and they both giggle. Supriya is on the lookout that everybody is busy and she moves toward's Ravi, who rolls his eyes mockingly. She moves her face aside, and signals him to follow her.. and she slips away. Ravi looks around and like a thief, the he too sneaks after her. Kala notices their getaway.

Guest room

Supriya enters her room , he follows in and closes the door... Supriya! see I told you so you can do it! too good!. He holds her wrist and says, one wound from you! has changed him from an animal to a man! did you see the love he shows in the wedding card. Now you just watch everything will go according to what we planned. Surpriya says, but Ravi ,I know that whatever you are doing is on the behest of someone unknown...but I can't do much more of this, anymore, now he trusts me completely, can't we runaway today?. Ravi muses, I don't see an issue, but one thing needs to be done..he pets her face... the colour of my love always bloom on your face, he adds lovingly. He gives her a warm cuddle...look this is not the time to be lose yourself in dreams, the plan stays the same, but instead of waiting, it needs to be carried out today, he instructs her, ok? you remember the plan don't you? she nods, and he says be careful, and one thing more.. the sound of his briefing goes mute. She listens to Ravi's plan with a sly smirk, as he continues to explain the task to her...

Dutta's den

Dutta comes up his wooden stairs towards his room. Grimly he enters, stands before the mirror, feels his shoulder and pulls off his shirt, head first. Looks at his athletic pumped up biceps in the mirror as he feels his banged knife wound.

Supriya heads up his stairs, enters his room with a planned expression on her face. She sees him feeling his wound at the back of his shoulder. He turns his head and sees her standing in the door way, watching him...she smiles. He nods for her to come in. In his vest he stands before her. She asks, does it hurt a lot? he turns his face to the side and growls, no I am used to it. He studies her face. She looks up and says, what you said about the mangalsutra , you don't realize how much it means to me, the wedding card too shows that you have accepted me with your heart, you don't know how relieved I am... I was looking for a life partner like yourself, she lies. I have brought this thread of protection for you.. and she shows him the scared thread in the palm of her hand. Dutta declines politely , Supriya I don't believe in all this.. and she places her forefinger on his lips.. and he looks down into her eyes, shyly. She says ,I know you don't believe in these things , but surely you trust me? so for my sake please wear it... and she ties it around his bare bicep.He looks down at it and then suddenly , the tune of the harmonica plays.. the tune of Dutta in love.. and he turns his eyes slowly to look at her face and holds her wounded wrist tenderly , he says gently, you must feel the pain..and she smiles coquettishly and says, the pain has vanished, as soon as you touched it...she looks at him with crafty eyes, and continues to trick him, also I should get used to such pains now, for only then I can become a part of your life.. I wanted to say something to you.. before marriage , I want to worship Lord Shiva in his temple..please don't refuse..

Dutta lowers his eyes and muses... turns his face aside and walks away and sits on his turquoise settee. She stands and waits rather worried, for his answer to her crucial request. He holds his head down... he looks up her with narrowed eyes, and she goes, please!..he lowers his eyes and slowly she walks towards him yet again ready to trap him. She kneels and puts her palm on his knee, he stiffens with clasped palms , not amused and she hurriedly moves her hand away. please... she begs him. and he replies, Supriya ,all I am trying to say is I don't have much faith in such things.. desperate , she implores, please! for my sake,.. he twists his engagement ring on his finger, cranks his neck and succumbs to her plan.. ok.

Plan achieved she smiles, and puts forth the next step.. but I want that for this puja only just the two of us should go.. without telling anyone..Dutta gives her ideas a thought. She repeats, only you and me. He twists his ring again, and gives in, when do you want to go? happily she says, in a little while!. I'll get ready and you get ready too! these clothes will not do for the puja! she tells him with a smile, and he nods shyly. She stands up and walks past him ready to leave, and he grabs her wounded hand. she stops .. and after a thought he stands up still holding her hand.. gives her a sided look and says, I'll do the puja just for your sake.. and he releases her hand. she shifts her eyes, smiles slyly , bats her eyes and raises his eyes brows mocking him and leaves..

Dutta stands alone smiling with the sacred thread tied around his upper arm.

Outhouse

Naku sits on the floor all morose and crestfallen. She looks as if in mourning.Babi enters the room with some food. Sets it on the floor and tells Naku, here eat your food.Naku asks ,do I trouble you a lot Aye ? Babi smiles and replies, yes you do , now stop talking and eat your dinner. Naku , shakes her head , and refuses, no I am not hungry . Babi looks at her daughter's face, who raises her eyes and stares in empty space. Babi smiles understandingly and says, ok fine, leave it then, Naku will you do something for me, you know Suganda?she tells me there is a Shiv temple nearby..its a divine place, go visit that place, Suganda says...will you go there Naku? you 'll find peace there..and when you go there tell them that Babi has sent you.. just say, my Aye can't bear to see my pain anymore! will you do it Naku ? weeps Babi...and Naku nods with great big tears in her eyes...yes I'll tell them, she consoles her mother. Babi nods and suggests, take Suganda with you , now go and get ready..

Dutta's den

Baji heads up Dutta's stairs, yelling ,hey Bhau! ..Dutta's toes clad in his beige toe post sandals walk toward his friend. One look at his Bhau, and Baji yells, you look fantastic!eyeee look at you.. Dutta dressed in white pyjama, lemon yellow kurta stands before Baji with a wee smile. Baji curves his arm above his head, you look super stunning Bhau! amazing from top to bottom! Dutta walks towards Baji, who says lets go!.. Dutta gives him a confused look, and Baji reminds him , it's Damle's construction site's inaugural puja today..Dutta bids Baji to go alone ,as he has somewhere else to go , Baji says fine, let me change as well and Dutta , says no this one is for me alone.. Baji says , but how can I let you go unaccompanied?.. Dutta signals shyly... with his eyes, his sided crank of his head, and slanted smile.. of who might be with him.. Baji feels the back of his head with a naughty smile and says, he' got it! who it might be too.. and Dutta nods and slowly glides down the stairs..as Baji watches him, much amused..

Guest house

Dutta approaches Supriya's room, all dressed up smartly and walks past a standing o attention Ravi and enters , Supriya's room with great authority, while Ravi fumes outside.

Supriya preens herself and brushes her hair.. and then stops as she catches Dutta dressed in his yellow kurta standing in the doorway.. he comes in and he looks upon her approvingly..and she at him.. finally he turns his head and says, shall we leave?

They both leave and Dutta walks past Ravi with Supriya by his side. Dutta stops and tells Ravi , Ravindra, you needn't come with us.. from now on Supriya does not need a body guard, as I will be responsible for her. Dutta adds politely, as you are a guest in this house, please stay till the marriage is over with.. and Dutta reaches out for Supriya's hand and walks ahead. She follows behind,but tarries and looks horrified as she turns her head to look at an irate Ravi.. Dutta walks away with Supriya. Ravi watches them shell shocked.. with a I'll be coming any way expression.. episode ends. Hamlet53. 28.11.13.

Precap: pandit ji I want to do Rudra pat puja for him.. Pandit replies, that is not possible as your marriage has not been set as yet..

The episode has images of Dutta being time and again chased and wooed by women.. unfortunately all of them are the wrong women. The woman who really loves him has always be silent as far as out and out enticing him is concerned. Her wooing was more in sincere actions toward his wellbeing, but tragically that too goes wrong. Poor Dutta being a young man does respond to a women's courtship, persuading and flattery as shown in this episode .. but his responses are twisted and used as a rod for his own back.

The episode also makes references to daughters.. Aye Sahib's three daughters, are conniving, cunning and crafty. Supriya's mother has a daughter who is a beautiful girl with typical good DIL qualities on the outside, but inside she is a rebellious girl who is all set to betray both families involved in her marriage. She is a liar and a cheat. You then have Babi, whose daughter, is obedient and selfless, who seeks the good of others around her. Believes in putting others happiness before her own.

The episode also holds strong references to Lord Shiva.. talk of visiting his temple, both by Supriya and Naku and Dutta a nonbeliever.

In the episode it's interesting how Supriya asks Dutta not to wear his usual pathiani... I think it was so, he looks less prominent as Dutta Bhau amongst the people.. that he is totally unguarded and unnoticed. But the motive is cleverly shielded by Supriya as she plays on his masculine ego..

She ties the rakhsha sacred thread on his arm with deceitful intent ,yet the truth is that the thread back fires on her and Ravi and Dutta remains protected.. his rakhsha kawach Naku ..is around him..she was destined to be with him at the temple.

So it will be interesting to watch what happens in Shiv's temple forthcoming episodes.. for the temple is visited both by the two people with good intent.. Baji and Naku , and the two people with evil intent for Dutta, namely, Supriya , Ravi .?

Epi 59

The terrace episode proves yet again dutta is the ill-fated man taken for a ride for all times by all n sundry. 😔

Dutta on the stairs was kinda intriguing, why did he look like a man caught in the act, shy, climbing the steps on the sly, very confusing to me n then when on terrace he was back to his stiff upper lip scowl faced look. Maybe he was trying to put up an act of defiance in front of the demure slithery creature albeit beautifulky sculpted 😆..in my mind she was one thing and ravi uska pimp! 😡

Why cant he see the obvious, why is it so difficult for him to sense dhoka before it hits him. Supriya did her best to entice but she failed or atleast didnt succeed to the extent she wished. She has made an impact on his mind n thats sufficient for the final kill. yes his bird brain ..

But the ambience on the terrace was perfect for a romantic date n its unfortunate dutta n naku were never seen under such a setting ever, i know hammie you agree with it ..yes bart iam really cut up due to this.. maybe they wanted to show eternal love is only souls flying around .. in an invisible way.. strictly ethereal jo hum bhi nazar nehi aya..

Ravi dons the directorial cap to the hilt behind every scene pulling the strings for sups. And the two stooges of dutta, baji n naku help supriya in a big way ofcourse unknowingly.

Baji caught faking by dutta on mobile was cute, then the best part was dutta,s candid chat with naku. You have rightly pointed this hammie but i feel naku was right here when she says dutta had in some corner of his heart opened up to supriya again after the terrace meeting.

Epi 60

Uff, the extent naku goes to persuade dutta is amazing, equally amazing is dutta,s patience with her. She just goes on n on 🤪.. And he forgets one need not luv someone to understand luv, its inherent in a human the feeling of luv. It happens naturally, gadha. Who taught him how to love seema? mujhe lagata hai he hallucinates and imagines about this four letter word..

Then the karanji making is epic, i gues every individual who,s watched this episode will be an expert making one lol..

Sups gave more reasons to hate her, firstly she doesnt acknowledge naku,s contribution in making karanji, then she steals them for ravi.. But Dutta i thought surreptitiously appreciated her efforts when he asks baji to forgive a some khan, baji is shocked. Its dutta,s way of appreciating, more with actions than mere words.

Gosh! Naku,s bhashan post karanji is longer than the making of karanji itself, baji is bang on, dutta ko zaroor yedhe banayegi yeh ladki ek din. Lol...

Hammie the best part of this update was your take on the virtues of naku. Even the maker of the show wouldnt have attributed these to the character 😉 thanks bart..

Epi 61

I know hammie you were craving for a showdown between dutta n ravi when dutta gives a surprise visit to sups room. That wouldve assuaged our rage building against the two. But hammie im disappointed with your take on this incident, its as if your objectivity is missing... You make it look so casual the encounter, but it isnt 😛 Its as if you wished he wasnt there, but Dutta makes an effort albeit after naku,s efforts, to praise supriya. Doesnt that say something? This man is falling for sure. Baji is delighted n how beautifully its picturised with him wasting no chance of pulling dutta,s leg.

Ok we have another song sequence in the background depicting the individual state of mind. Atleast you should have mentioned one line of the hindi version, i was left wondering as to which song it was hain kaunse sonnng tha.. is supriya na mujhe sare gana bhola diya bar.. jana kya baat hoi..

But the convo between babi n naku shows how much naku has come to luv the man n how pure it is, unrequited luv, sigh!

Epi 62

Dunno its beyond me what naku wants to cherish, what does she gain by dreaming for one more day someone whom she cannot attain. Comparing dutta to the moon she acknowledges the harsh truth yet dares to dream. But how can she ever be at peace once he gets married to anyone. Its a very sorry state of affairs 😔 thujhe yaad hai Morey ke poetry about ey chand ey chand ey chand😆

Naku pines for the man who is yet to heal n taking baby steps towards a new life, while the new life that is sups is waiting to backstab him at the first given opportunity. Babi is dumbstruck, helpless not knowing how to convince naku. First time naku refuses to abide by babi,s wisely words i guess.

Kala is itching to see the drama unfold n almost blurting it out, she is akin to a psycho. she is even throwing hints at sups n ravi of her knowledge.

Dutta has reached a point where he cant say no to naku, hard to believe that this man gets his way with everyone else but naku seems to have cast a spell..

But dutta is no less than naku in delivering sermons except that its wasted on supriya,,. the symbolic importance of MS.
