Episode begins from the point when, Babi after praying before Bappa decides she will grant her daughter Naku the freedom to reveal her true face.. she vows that she will not separate her daughter from her husband. With that ,in mind she heads off to look for Naku.
Dutta's den
Naku meanwhile, is his room fixing his bed. Her mother arrives and is overcome by seeing Naku so involved in her role of being a good wife. Kala's awful words, "when Bhau returns home , we'll erase all traces and memories of Nakusha from his life", Leela caustic remarks of "daughter being a witch and mother no less"..reminds Babi of what Bhau's sisters think of Naku. Babi thinks hard, as she sees her daughter fixing his bed. probably thinks it's no use Naku is doing an exercise in futility. With a sigh Babi heads towards her daughter and roughly forces her to stop ,and makes her face her. She looks at Naku's face intensely and next minute with great spite she rubs off the dark soot off a rather confused Naku's cheeks. Shocked Naku goes Aye ! and backs off from her mother right in front of Dutta's dresser mirror. She turns to look at her blothched face and she looks annoyed. Much confused she turns her face from the mirror to her mother, Aye what are you doing? huh, and upset Babi replies, don't ask! I am doing what I should have done ages ago! yes this world is such that after looking at outward beauty one's worth is set! but I want to show every one that neither is my daughter's face is ugly! nor is her heart! I will show everybody! Everybody hates you because of your looks and your complexion! Babi's reaction to Leela's words brings out the forbidden act that Babi has carried out on her daughter. It was the same in the basti and here too it's the same !cries Babi angrily at an anxious Naku.. Babi carries on but I will show every one my Naku's beauty is of worth like gold!
Yes I will! with these hand I gave you this dusky complexion! I darkened you face! but no anymore! she says firmly, and once again begins to wipe off the colour fromNaku 's face.. yes Naku! when Saab finds out the truth about your complexion , then he too will love you Naku! Naku presses her wounded hands and begs her mother, don't do this Aye! stop it! if he sees my true colour then my life will become hell.. Naku is realistic! Babi screams in pain and turns away, oh no! I ruined my daughter's life! it's all my fault Naku!. Naku comes up to her mother and consoles, Aye! listen to me, Saab hates me, because he believes I betrayed him. this truth only you and me know. If I show my real face, what will people say? that she is a complete fraudster! First she tricked herself into this marriage, now with another trick she's showing her face, so she can win Saab'sheart.Aye, one mistake is enough! I don't want to create any more misconstructions ..no one understands, that all you want is that your Naku should remain happy, be blessed, so don't curse and blame yourself Aye.
Kala 's room
Kala looks at four pieces of cards. Her sisters watch her, she says, here are four tickets for them! Nakusha! and all her family members...for I want this house be rid of ill omen...I want bad luck to stay away! well away from this house. Leela slithers close to Kala like a snake, Tai let's do this auspicious work as soon as possible then! Kala smiles, yes you are right!
The evil trio proceed ready to attack! they walk together united in purpose.. to kick Naku out from her house/their house.
Dutta's den
Babi tries to convince her daughter...Naku you don't know that a man's heart melts at the sight of a beautiful face, yes it's true! when he sees your real beautiful face Saab will forget everything! the truth is you look like a goddess!.. I'll explain everything to Saab! why I concealed your real face! what was my predicament? Saab will surely understand everything! for if he doesn't understand the pain of the vulnerable and lowly, than who will? when he says your angelic face he'll believe you! yes Naku! today , now! is the opportunity.. otherwise you'll lose this chance! and she starts once again to boisterously rub off the dusky colour on Naku's face. Naku protests, Aye! stop! Saab doesn't look at a person's face.. but at a person's heart .. he saw my heart that's why he had faith in me! I broke his trust.. then he doubted my heart, my intentions! It makes no difference to Saab , fair complexion, rosy cheeks! makes no impact on Saab! he loves the sincerity in a person! showing my real face to him won't achieve anything. .nothing will happen! says Naku plainly and simply. Babi is impressed by the steadfastness of her daughter and she says proudly, Naku! my child, I made a mistake! let me rectify my mistake! I snatched your face from you! please let me return that to you!.. Naku argues , wait a while Aye, listen to me! first let me clear my name from all the accusations made against me.. I have made a promise to Bappa! taken his blessings! first I will prove my innocence.. I will not betray him.. he has given me strength! what he wants I'll do... take who so ever's life if he tells me to take! Aye let Saab return, I have complete faith in Bappa, he'll correct everything.. Babi rejects Naku's request, Naku you have gone mad! before he returns , you will be turned out of this house! there is a conspiracy being hatched against you!.. Naku is shocked.. conspiracy ? she repeats..

The sisters come down the main staircase.
Dutta's den
Babi holds Naku by the shoulders, Naku! do it before it's too late! Saab's sisters will kick you out of this house, look if you won't stay in Saab's life? then what truth are you going to prove? and how are you going to do it? and Babi further wipes off the colour on Naku.. her real face is gradually revealed.. andBabi covers her mouth with her pallu in hand.. as she rejoices in seeing her daughter's beautiful face! She caresses her face and with affection and says come.. and Babi stands Naku , before Dutta's mirror , take a look at yourself! look at this face! how stunning you look! one look at your face and Aye Sahib will not believe her eyes! she'll pray no evil eye ever cast it's shadow on you! see for yourself! how can anyone call this lovely face jinxed!? Who can hate you? dare to throw out of his house? tell me? Babi pleads, as Naku looks at her lovely real face sadly..

Dutta's den
Naku stares at her fair face in the mirror.. as if looking at someone not known to her.. bored she turns away from the mirror and faces her mother yet again. Aye ! I will not do this.. it was my dusky face that won Saab's heart, the same face also lost his trust.. for him , my dusky face is my true face.. if he has to love me, than it's my dusky face he will love Aye! if he loves my fair face, then that would be a lie won't it? Aye , I beg you let me live with this truth.. Naku feels her mother's hands, these hands of yours, hid my beauty from the world, with these same hands we will reveal the truth about my real face before the world.. but, after my innocence has been proved.. smilingly Babi gives her clued on daughter, a tight hug..
The evil trio
The three evil sisters, stand at the bottom of Bhau's wooden stairs and stare upwards. Then slowly all three climb the stairs together .. step by step! Till they get to his room and all three stand together like an impassable wall. Kala takes a step forward and stops to look at the scene of mother and daughter in a tight embrace! She flashes her eyes at them. The other two sisters are also shocked to see Naku and Babi in a embrace. Kala gives daggers and then speaks daggers too, Bhau is not at home! and you have come up to his room? she sneers at Babi, who looks up.. in surprise. As Kala continues.. you have reached such closeness! and Babi releases her daughter. Naku slowly moves her head.. and then her face.. Leela and Roops look puzzled...Kala too looks sharply...and Naku turns her dusky face , and turns her body to face Dutta's sisters.. her bandaged palms,hides the round case of kajal hidden under chunni..Babi , relieved,that Naku's fair face is hidden!steals a glance at Naku's hands.. Kala walks forward slowly, and says firmly, enough of this mother and daughter bonding! pack your stuff and get out of here! Naku gives Kala a perplexed look.. episode ends...Hamlet53 6.2.14

Footnote:
In the previous episode a daughter like Kala manipulated her mother with her devious plan and the mother, Aye Sahib gladly approves of Kala's ungodly suggestion of turning Naku out of her husband Dutta's household.. but in this episode what a difference in comparison.
This episode has to be an important one in terms of yet another mother and daughter dialogue. Yes there are major disagreements in their perceptions regarding the serious issue of Naku's face revelation , which is a major part of the plot, yet there is also understanding and acceptance of each other's reasoning too between this mother and daughter..
Babi is a typical mother for whom her daughter's happiness is primary and ultimate. She is swayed under the strain of sentiments. Rather desperate, she sees obvious hope in permitting and backing Naku in revealing her beauty before Dutta , to win his love. Also, she sees this as a way of warding off the approaching doom of eviction that Naku faces momentarily at the hands of the evil trio.
Babi's thinking is based on stereotypical views. But then, her daughter Naku scores higher! when she reveals her profound knowledge of her husband's character and their relationship! to her mother. That Dutta is a man who goes for skin deep beauty of the soul not the face.
Babi argues in favour of her daughter's beauty, to persuade and convince Naku. But Naku maintains her senses and gently shows sense to her mother. Naku shows Babi reason and gently persuades her mother to defer the matter till an important matter in Naku's life is resolved.
It's interesting how for Babi, it's her guilt in hiding Naku's beauty from the world, that's important. But for Naku, it's about doing things the right way.. proving her innocence firstly and secondly ensuring that Dutta loves her for how she appears before him now as the dusky koel Naku.. she understands that Dutta built a bond with her based on that face.. and not what Babi plans to show.
In all the setbacks, rejection, and hate Naku faces.. she chooses the pillar of truth and her firm faith in her god Bappa.
Lastly Naku like an obedient loving daughter, assures her mother and nurses Babi's tarnished guilt ridden soul.. by offering a reasonable argument.. that be patient , as perseverance pays off in the end..
This episode belongs to Naku's wholly. Regarding the face revelation issue, many of us like her own mother, conclude that Naku has to be stupid! But in her stupidity lies the antidote for Dutta's madness..
