I found Seema immensely interesting in today's episode. Immensely. I'm not going to analyze her with any sad attempts at humor, because her character no longer deserves that. For the first time since her introduction, I took her seriously and considered her words, facial expressions, actions. For the first time since her return, I felt a kind of fear. I have to admit that the actress portraying this character did a surprisingly great job in this episode. She had me confused and scared. Starting from an end, I think that there's one question on our minds now regarding Seema:
Will she betray Dutta once again?
Well, as far as I'm concerned, Seema can choose between two paths. 1) She can continue with this redeeming plan of hers and help her love reach his destination, or 2) she can turn against him and thus betray him just as he begins to trust her again. Either way, she'll lose him for sure. Knowing that Kala somehow finds out where Dutta is and reaches him, it makes one wonder who told her. It could be Seema, it could not be Seema.
In order to predict her actions, to understand her intentions, we have to take a look at her words, her expressions, in today's episode. First thing that I noticed was how she asked Dutta whether he really loved this woman a lot. Then I noticed that Dutta didn't answer her questions in a very in depth way, which I interpreted as that he doesn't quite trust her fully yet. This could be a hint, or it could mean nothing at all. Third thing is her expressions during that scene. Upon asking the very questions that she found necessary (note that she didn't ask for his lover's name and such), she wiped her tears in a way that made me think that she had made a choice/decision. Following that, she went to Dutta's side and - changing the subject entirely - she told him that they'd be hiding in a place in a jungle where no one should be able to find them, and Dutta's expression as she turned to leave seemed a bit tense.
This is what had me disturbed (along with the strange, silent atmosphere/mood of the scene - as if the CVs wanted to confuse us about where they were taking her character).
Was this a hint at what's going on inside her head? Why did she suddenly change the subject as if it didn't matter anymore? Does the information about them hiding in the jungle mean something more to her than to him? Could it be a part of a plan of keeping him with her, away from Naku?
Are there even any underlying - negative - intentions in her words, or are we simply overanalyzing her demeanour?
From where I see things, Seema could turn either way. Either she'll sacrifice herself (or continue to support Dutta), or she'll simply betray him.
In the end, her love came across as selfish. She asked him to at least "think of me" in all this. It seemed odd. Even knowing what she put him through... It was quite selfish of her to say that.
I hope that Dutta's somewhat trust in her won't prove to be wrongly placed.
I hope that Seema's intentions are noble and that she doesn't stab him in the back. For she has been granted forgiveness - and shouldn't that be enough? Isn't that what she wanted in the first place, before anything else?
Truly, this woman is a riddle. Only time will tell which side she's on, and whether her tongue is as forked as a nagin's or if she's truly changed for the better. Happy speculating, everyone.
