Like most of you, I'm going through the days with an inner turmoil of emotions as well. Frustration and anger, sadness and disappointment, annoyance and depression. They all blend together, all make my head spin. I try to convince myself that this is just another TV show. That whatever might happen to it shouldn't bother me. But the truth is that it's a lie. Laagi is not just another TV show to me. It's a fairy tale. It's hope. It's beauty. It's special. It's so many things that no other show has ever been to me, and I've been obsessed with many shows before this one came along.
I cannot watch its bane. I cannot watch my beloved characters fade one by one.
So much has changed in the past year. What Laagi was and what Laagi has become... somehow it's like the show has transformed into something awkward in the past month. I want it back to the beautiful, unique thing it was before. It can be. We're all waiting for the moment when it will be, the moment when Dutta returns in his full power, full strength. When Baji stands by his side, strong and loyal. When Naku buries herself in his arms. When the family gathers around him with a few evil exceptions.
The reason that I really started this thread is to vent my thoughts on today's episode. We've had to endure five episodes without even five seconds of Dutta. That alone had me waiting impatiently for today's episode, and upon seeing him - I felt relief, to some extent. The thought if his possible leave quickly overshadowed even that brief moment of joy.
Having watched today's episode, my annoyance only increased. Though, the TaSha proximity should've made me just a tiny bit happier. Instead I couldn't help but focus on other things such as how badly the episode was edited, how badly the scenes were directed, the annoying amount of bloopers that only seem to pop up more often during each new episode. Did anyone notice how they used the same Naku-resting-her-head-on-Seema's-shoulder clip? Four times, at least, and the only reason I could tell was because some of Dutta's face was visible in the side, doing the same turn-of-head each time the clip was used.
Then Naku's dream-sequences while assuming that we were inside Dutta's head. The way that Naku's running scene was filmed was a disappointment. I didn't even bite my lip during that scene. I remember a certain running-in-the-jungle scene and how my heart was racing the entire time just because of the way it was filmed. (Not to mention how turned off I was by the family-doing-pooja scene; it was a bit over the top for me. Not... not very LTL-like for me.)
What is happening?
I'm... confused.
When did LTL change so much?
The only two moments that I felt anything was when Naku was carried into Seema's car and Dutta's head whipped to the side, as if sensing her presence, and the second time when Seema removed her hand and he put his own hand where hers had been a moment before.
I think that I'm tired. I need a good night's sleep and tomorrow will be better, right? Tomorrow, the director will get it right, the editing will be right, and I'll feel the excitement again. Tomorrow, we'll have more TaSha moments (the precap alone awoke my sleeping pre-January TaSha feelings).
But guys, I feel so frustrated with the fact that we, the fans, have to fight so dang hard for our show and favorite actors to stay on the show. I feel frustrated with the fact that we have to tell them how the episodes are wrongly cut, or how the characters were "out of character", etc. etc., when it's something that they should have under control. New director or not, new CVs or not.
I don't remember feeling or thinking that an episode was badly edited or directed pre-January. Up until now, I haven't had to think about these things, because they always got it right.
I dunno. I blame it on my lack of sleep. It's probably all inside my head anyway. Goodnight, guys. Love ya'll just because.
*attempts a brave smile* I'll feel happier tomorrow.

Apart from the song choice, I quite enjoyed today's episode 😃 I don't know, maybe seeing Dutta has that effect, that I can overlook the glitches and just enjoy his presence, and enjoy the beauty of Dutta and Nakusha being in the same frame.
And I actually really liked that PN scene, which is strange, because usually I would skip over this kind of stuff-but even in the silence of that scene, there was so much being said- their composure, their prayers for Dutta and Nakusha- standing together for once, after what seems like ages- putting everything in the hands of God. The sunlight seeping through the window gave it an even more angelic quality. Plus that Kishore and Baaji image really pulled at my heartstrings. Being the eldest male of the family, he gave Baaji that comfort and love, like a true father. It was beautiful to watch.
I didn't mind Seema today either. I liked the way she put her arms around Naku in the car, gave her that support, and truly fulfilled her friendship. Yet that doesn't mean I don't want her gone soon 😆
There's always going to be one or two editing problems- of course that FB was a big no-no, but what can we do? It's best to overlook the small problems and focus on the overall content. I generally thought the episode was enjoyable- and the precap has gotten me even more excited! Chin up, things will certainly get better soon!! x

Before the lights go out for me too, you are spot on. It was badly edited. Dutta's monologue was moving but it was overshadowed by the poor editing. He kept on turning his face to the side again and again. Why did they show Seema looking so concerned when she gulped? Like she could read his thoughts? 🤔 The repetition of the fbs are ridiculous I know. The thing is they have nothing to show what truly represents romance at its best for Dutta and Naku. So far, we have seen D and N share nothing of that sort physically. So what is available to really show a melted Dutta's need to be with Naku? Naku's dreams of course! Voila! Point also to be noted, perhaps Dutta is now beginning to imagine himself romancing Naku.....which could fit in with the song...oh I actually loved the song. The trumpets in the background and what not. Very intimate. Quite unexpected. Tomorrow shall be good. Keep the faith.

In bold: Yes, that was nice. I think the role of light in many contexts was shown. Naku being Dutta's light, 'light at the end of the tunnel' thing...then the family praying in light. My head got a little dazzled when the camera zoomed in on AS's face. I can understand why Elysia may think the scene was very LTL unlike- it was maybe the cheesiness of it.

I loved the Kishore-Baji part, but I guess that what bothered me about the pooja scene was that Leela and Roops were shown standing there praying in the light with their mother. If the director had shown their progress to reach that point, then it would've been believable and touching. But all I saw was that one moment they're scheming with Kala, the next they're not on her side anymore and suddenly praying with their mother as if they're faithful believers.
What happened in the middle?
The director could've made the scene more convincing by showing that AS stands up to pray and Madhu joins her. Then the girls glance at each other and slowly stands up to join their mother. At least that would've shown some kind of journey/process of their state of minds.
Seema supporting Naku was a nice scene. But the episode compared to what LTL's standards used to be? No, I don't think that this one lived up to it. Nor did any of the other recent ones, but that's purely because I don't like the new director's directing or the editing.

I personally don't think LTL can ever go back to being the LTL of the past, and that's something we will have to accept. This happens with all shows, standards do slip. Yes now I've gotten used to the dull episodes, and being constantly revived by the amazing episodes that LTL endows us with. Nowadays, carelessness is prevaling with LTL- buri nazar of 'someone' 😆 x

I am most saddened to hear that even today's episode didn't bring much happiness & relief to you. But agree with you regarding the song choice & its presenation. The rest I couldn't notice because of the huge tears in my eyes while watching D.😳 But I will watch out for it when it comes on at 9 again. Its only a 20 min duration serial & half the time they are using old footage as FBs then why is it so technically challenging to make their product with finesse?😕 In a year long TaSha story they could only find Nakku's dream as FBs for Dutta? Its her dream it belongs only to her a reminder of the sweet days when she had first discovered love after being mercilessly abused by the world. Seems to me they randomly picked those footages as they were visually very appealing with both looking great on screen. But they completely forgot the story behind those scenes. This is unprofessionalism & carelessness.Do they think we don't notice such things? All this goes a long way in losing respect for the makers as well as for ourselves for stoically looking the other way everytime. I wanted to see Jayesh Patil's new serial on NDTV Imagine. As usual awesome story with a smalltime Marathi gangster there too. But what took me by surprise was that the LTL team is working on that project too.Jayesh, Baal Sundeep, the music dirctors & many others. But the most surprising was the editor Sudhir Achary. Now I know its normal for such professionals to work on multiple projects at a time but after reading your post on the technical bloopers I can't but suspect that these guys might be travelling in many boats at the same time. The result is the sloppy presentation of a most loved love story.
I hope the CVs take note of our concern & gather their wits about them soon.

I quiet liked the episode yesterday. Atleast my patience wasnt tested. Like someone put it the episode was about the restlessness of the characters -Dutta, Naku, Dutta's family, Kala and even Suds. The only thing I didnt like was the song choice, the obvious editing bloopers and flashback bloopers. I suppose as others have remarked they dont really have any romantic scenes between Dutta and the fair Naku to show them as a part of Dutta's flashbacks. But then there is no need to show Naku's dreams. Its better they shoot new dream sequences to show them as a part of Dutta's flashbacks. Coming to the quality of the epis I agree they have been of poor quality for a while now. I just hope with Tasha reunion things will ge spiced up for if they dont we know the end is near. Not the actual end of the show but the end of most interesting part of the show.

Ok, here is my take...saw the episode and it was not bad at all.
Agreed song choice was a little dabba...but Dutta's presence made it up for me.
Was it just me or did someone else notice MR's lines being delivered a lot like how Amitabh Bacchan says Kabhi Kabhi...had that awesome voice quality in it.
I hope that eye twitch in the precap was his eyesight coming back....please...and I am sure Suds will not find them...that would be too lame, and no role for Seema to play :)

😲 That was tooo obvious nd sloppy work for any standards. The drop in the quality nd the content of the show went down the day dutta went down in the valley. Since then, nothing seems the same anymore nd with the added rumours doing the rounds it is obvious that it is too much to expect that LTL will regain its lost glory💔.
The song again was so so not in sync nd with the FBs as usual, recycling of dreams. As somebody pointed out they have run out of FB scenes especially for DN as there has hardly been any intimate scenes between the two to depict for them how they r missing each other's closeness.😒 And what is the obsession with FBs i dont understand, probably LTL is the only show which is giving more FBs than actual sequences.
The one nd only scene when dutta touched his shoulders where nakku had placed her hands was one touching scene worth watching nd MR was too good in the scene. The prayer scene was ok. These days it is routine to see the quality of the episodes taking sharp curves, either too good or too sloppy. I guess the creatives nd the technicians r into too many assignments at the same time nd it is showing in their work. I must add that Suds is irritated by kalas daily taunts nd i suspect he will soon ditch her. Keeping my fingers crossed it happens.
