Thumps up to CV's .... for doing a good job. I think the CV's want to show that it is a tough life for beautiful girls of weaker section of the society,

And I guess Hessa is right...the preference for the dark Naku is due to the tendency to root for the underdog. And I for one want the dark Naku for some more time to see a romance between a dark girl and a fair guy. Thats a rarity in reality and even onscreen too.

There u are.. The Chemistry!! between the actors and characters is the KEY.

well i thought about it some more and think maybe its cos we perceive dark nakku as the underdog, and he fair 1 as having some advantage. but even then it doesnt make sense cos both nakkus are 1 and the same😕

I can only speak for myself, but I never thought of it from an underdog perspective. Actually, I've never internalized the message of this show, because it has a principle I've always believed in--judging people by their words, actions, qualities and appreciating them for it. Hence, Naku is just a character to me, albeit a much loved one, and I don't think of her as an underdog, or challenged, or even anything, except a girl.

I hope that you don't think my question regarding why the split Naku to illustrate society's reactions to a beautiful face vs. less attractive face/skin color/whatever. Look, a beautiful face OBVIOUSLY will get ogled and is appreciated in society, the CVs aren't doing us a favor by showing us that, we already know it. So that was the reason for my question on why Naku had to be beautiful underneath. I mean it's not rocket science that beautiful people are treated better or differently, and in some ways just judged for their outward appearance and not their inner qualities. I tend to think, as unpopular as it may be with many of you, that they (show CVs, creators) had to have a pretty leading lady at the end of it all. It is almost a weird Cinderella-esque story, and in telly serials, leading ladies are average to very good looking. This is NOT to say that the dark Naku is not beautiful in her own way, but that certain things always remain the same. Maybe oneday, a dark Naku-like lady will be the lead on one of these shows. To date, and I could be mistaken, I have not found that to be the case.

agree with u nazia ...earlier i used to feel that it waould be really difficult for the cvs to convince the audience that dutta could fall for the black nakku. before watching last nights episode i myself strongly believed that showing dutta loving nakku with her dark make up would be really unrealistic...i am sorry but i thought no matter how much a person hates beauty but he would definitely want atleast a decent looking partner.
but the cvs proved me WRONG last night....even i fell for the dark nakku and now dutta accepting her with her dark make up soound so convincing and believable.
WELL DONE CVS.....GREAT JOB

gp it was just a general observation, i do get a sense of disdain towards the fair nakku in general, because she is n fact fair. i definitely agree with you that underneath it nakku had to be beautiful because like it or not cinderella type stories sell, and beauty defo sells. ironically the old cinderella type stories are less about putting across the social message that beauty is the eye of the beholder but more to do with the moral message that females who are patient and good are eventually rewarded by the riches that transorm thir appearance and by the prince who comes in to the rescue. in ltl...i guess its kind of self contradictory to claim that it is passing on the message that looks dont matter. because ultimately dutta will be 'rewarded with a beautiful wife and nakku will be able to shed the mask and live with her prince who also happens to be fair and pretty.
on a side note gp i think the issue is less about her colour being dark (they could easily have made her dark and attractive) but more about portraying the general image of ugliness.

ey i dont think that people here are dead set agaisnt fair nakku....its just that the CV's have contrasted the two nakku's in such a way that we are bound to differentiate between the two...
we do like the fair nakku as well but thats what i said is that we prefer dark nakku to fair nakku..

but nazia, the cv's haven't contrasted the two nakku's. both nakku's are exactly the same except 1 is dark and the other fair. so why is there that preference

I think the problem that most people are having is not that are disturbed by fair Naku's good looks but because we have gotten quite attached to dark Naku. It is hard to relate to the fair Naku because we have barely seen her let alone with Dutta. All the good Tasha scenes have been with dark Naku and now people are wondering what their reaction will be to the fair Naku in Tasha scenes. As for those comments about beauty that she made to Subbo, they were a bit out of a character for her... if it had been dark naku who said it we might have been able to accept it...but since fair Naku said it, it was more horrible since we don't relate much to fair Naku and she was passing these out of character comments as well. I think this is why CVs are planning for Naku to play a double role so we get used to fair Naku as well

huma i have generally got the impression that its her appearance that is causing the issue, because really ive not seen any problem with the scenes of the fair nakku. in fact most of the song/dream sequences have been with the fair nakku and they have been amazing from what ive seen. about the comments nakku made to subbu...there were simultaneous discussions about that a couple of days ago and i commented there...really the gist of it was that i thought it was perfectly in character and completely honest of nakku to say that.
obviously i am not speaking for u personally, but this is generally the conclusions i have drawn.

definitely it is about the character and at the end of the day she is 1 and the same. well, i might be completely wrong and off the mark here.....but i think we females in general are much more self conscious when it comes to our appearance. we all do our best conform to acceptable standards but alot of us still have our own perceived shortcomings, or what society tells us are our shortcomings. so i think from that perpective maybe people are able to empathize more with the dark nakku because on the surface all the cards are stacked against this nakku. whereas on some level we see the fair nakku as having some advantage and therefore read her actions/comments differently. maybe i am reading too much into this now!
