SCENE 1
As Naku descends the steps happily,Kala who is sitting on the sofa looks up and says to herself"Jitna khush hon hai hoja Naku'Kal ki subah bhi tu kya yaad rakhegi'"Naku comes down and goes into the kitchen.Babi enters after her and asks her apologetically,"Naku mereko maaf kar de..tujhe akele chod kar main chali gayi..par kya karti..tune dekha na..Kala memsaab kaise tana maar rahi thi.."Naku gives an understanding smile to her aayi,takes her aayi's hands into hers and says,"Tereko kya lagta aayi??Main samajhti nahi'Aayi,accha kiya jo tu Aayi sahib ki madad karne chali gayi warna who akeli pad jaati..Aur phir aayi tu nahi janti ki maine aur saab ne khub saari masti ki'tereko pata hai saab ne chai banayi!!!"Babi looks contently at her daughter and thanks Bappa."Abb chal pehle hi der ho chuki hai..sabko khana paros dete hai.."Naku nods and starts helping her Aayi.
SCENE 2
At the dinner table,Dutta is sitting just in front of Kala and she notices that he is constantly staring at naku who is serving food to everyone.Kala lifts her eyebrows in disgust,gives an evil smile and says"Arre Naku,maine tujhe subah who paise diye the na..theek se toh rakhe hai na tune???Dekh jakar kamre mein ek baar dekh lena..woh kya hai na..kal jab sab chale jayenge..toh hisaab mangungi tujhse.."Naku nods her head tensely..Dutta looks up from his plate and asks Kala curiously,"Kaun se paise Taayi..??"Kala waves her spoon in air dismissively and says"Kuch nahi bhau bas kuch paise diye the zaruri kharidari karne ko'abb nku se zyada iss ghar pe kisi pe bharosa kiya ja nahi sakta,toh socha ek baar naku ko aazma lu.."Dutta shrus and says"Naku ko aazmane ka kya faayda taayi..mujhe pura bharosa hai who kahri utregi.."Saying so,Dutta gives a reassuring nod to Naku and Naku smiles back.Kala says to herself'Dekhte hai bhau'kitni khari utregi yeh..bas tum sab tamasha dekhte jao..kaise main sab ka vishwaas iss par se uthati hu.."
SCENE 3
The next day,after a big aarti,everyone gathers in the drawing room.Aayi sahib asks Kala,"Arre kala,aur kitni der lagayegi roop niche utarne mein??Jaldi bula usse niche'zara hum bhi toh apni beti ki nazar utare'"Kala smiles and says calmly,"Bas leela lekar aati hi hogi aayi sahib.."After a few minutes,Roops,clad in a beautiful green sari comes down as many eyes look at her praisingly,she smiles shyly and touches Aayi sahib's feet.Aayi sahib puts a kala teeka on the back of her ear and says"Khub sundar lag rahi hai hamari beti'kahi kisi ki nazar na lage.."Everyone smile and settle down on the sofa.Kala says"Chal roop upar chal'jab ladke waale ayenge toh tujhe niche aana hoga.."The boys family is called Kulkarnis who come and meets the Patil family.Roops is called downstairs.The boy is pleased to meet Roop and both say yes for the rishta.Everyone rejoice and exchange sweets.Admist all the celebration,Kala slips and enters Naku's room.With caution,she lifts up the lid of Naku's suitcase and takes out the 50,000 Rs. From the bundle.She leaves the rest just as it was and leaves the room.She quickly hides the money in the nearby vase and rejoins others.
SCENE 4
After the guests leave,Kala turns towards Naku and says,"Naku,iss kaam ko khatam karte hai..jaldi se woh paise le aa'zara dekhu toh tune unhe sambhal kar rakha hai ya nahi'taki agar tu meri kasauti pe khari utri hai toh tujhe aur kuch bhi dena hai sambhal kar rakhen ko.."Naku nods,looks at babi and leaves.She enters her room,switches on light and opens her suitcase.She counts the money present in the envelope and looks at it scared and shock!Beads of presperation line her forehead as she counts them again but the total still comes to just Rs.50,000.She says to herself'Raat ko toh gin ke rakha tha!!Kaha gaye !!Aisa nahi ho sakta!Bappa meri madad karo.."Kala enters her room suddenly and says"Kaya hua naku,itna waqt kyun laga rahi hai'acha yeh rahe paise..de mujhe"Saying so,she takes the money clenched in Naku's hands as Naku looks at her fearfully.Kala,very much aware of Naku's predicament,starts counting the money and after finishing it,she gives a look of surprise and says,Baaki ke paise kaha hai Naku,maine toh tujhe inhe sambhal ke rakhne ko kaha tha..baaki saaman ki kharidaari toh tu aaj karti na'Toh phir kaha hai paise??"Naku's trembling lips manage to speak out,"Taayi woh..maine toh yahi rakhe the..pata nahi kaha gaye..ruko main dekhti hai idhar udhar thoda.."Naku starts searching every nook and corner of her room thoroughly.Kala stands in the middle smiling evilishly and saying to herself,"Dhundle jaha par bhi'par paise toh tujhe milne se rahe.."She changes her expression and says"Naku..maine tujhse yeh umeed nahi kiya tha'maine tujhpe bharosa kiya'aur tune..chal mere saath..sabko tere iss juth se rubaru toh karana hi hoga'"She drags Naku and takes her to the main room where everyone is chatting away happily.Kala throws naku down in front of everyone and says.."Bada bharosa than a ispe,puchiye isse mere paise kaha gaye'1 lakh koi choti rakam nahi hoti aur isne..pure 50,000 kam hai iss bundle mein'"
Naku clasps her hands in front of everyone,tears flowing down,as kala continues,"Bhau tujhe bada bharosa than a'kyu kya hua abb??Hai jawab iska koi.."she says pointing towards the stack of money.Naku nods her head and says"Naku kabhi chori nahi kar sakti saab..maine raat ko gin ke rakah tha'par subah jab taayi ke kehne pe lene gayi toh kuch paise gayab the'Main nahi janti saab who kaha gaye'"Dutta gets up and says determinedly"Naku ne kuch nahi kiya hai'"Kala looks at him with her lifted eyebrows,surprised.Dutta continues"Zarur paise kisi ne idhar udhar kiye honge taayi tereko galat fehmi hui hai..mujhe naku pe pura bharosa hai'Bas koi abb iss baat pe behas nahi karega.."He lifts up Naku,wipes her tears and says.."Tu chor nahi hai'main janta hu ki tera dil kitna saaf hai'abb tu zyada assu mat baha aur jakar kaam kar.."Kala looks questioningly at Dutta as he leaves the room unpeturbed.
The Patil household goes to normal life after the scene created by Kala.The only person badly affected by Dutta's verdict was kala as she sit in her dark room thinking how come dutta could trust a girl who has barely been there for a month and not believe me'how come this girl is able to control dutta so much.
SCENE 5
Naku knocks on the door of Dutta's room as dutta says"Aa jao.."Naku enters and Dutta turns to see her standing on the doorway.He says"Kya baat hai Naku,aaj ki baat ko lekar pareshaan hai ??"Naku nods her head in disapproval and says"Nahi saab'.Main yeh kehne aayi thi ki apne kala taayi se ucchi awaaz mein baat karke accha nahi kiya'woh chahe kitni bhi galat ho,par aap unse chote hai'.apko unse izzat se baat karni chahiye..taayi kitni dukhi hogi'"Dutta closes his file and says "Naku,Taayi net ere pe jutha ilzaam lagaya..tujhpe chillayi tab bhi tu unke liye itna sochti hai'kiss mitti ki bani hai tu??"Naku says"Badon ki izzat kar rahi hu..koi nayi baat kaha hai isme..apko bhi unse maafi maang leni chahiye'bhai behen ke pyare rishte ki beech main deewar nahi bann na chahti saab'warna bappa ki kasam mujhe puri zindagi chain ki neend nahi naseeb hogi.."Dutta grins and says theek. Hai'taayi aur baaki sabka mann badalne ke liye main soch raha hu kahi bahar lekar jau kal sabko'roop ki shadi taay honi ki khushiyan bhi mana lenge aur taayi ko bhi.."Naku gives him a thumbs up'Dutta calls up Baji and says.."Baji tu bahar hai isliye tujhe phone kiya..ek kaam tha..zara kuch aadmiyon ko bhejkar hamare Lonavla waale farmhouse ko tayyar karwa de..pura parivaar waha chalne waale hai'"
Dutta goes down and gathers everyone in the main room and announces,"Kal hum sab 2 din ke liye Lonavla ja rahe hai'hamare farmhouse pe rehne ke liye'Roop ki shaadi ki khushi mein'sab chalenge aur khub maaze karenge'"Everyone gets excited at the announcement.Roops comes and hugs her Bhau and says"Thanks Bhu tu duniya ka sabse accha Bhaiya hai.."Dutta smiles and says.."abb maska lagna band kar aur jakar packing kar.."As roops starts leaving,Bhau asks her "Aur kala taayi ko bhi keh dena'"Roops nods and leaves.Dutta stares into empty space thoughtfully.
