Sumeet Sachdev Bio/ Gutam virani

Sumeet Sachdev is often referred as the unhappy soul of television. Perhaps, this emanates from his on- and-off appearances in most of his shows.

This Delhi lad first came to Mumbai to take part in Ali Raza's play 'Kargil - The 50 day war'. During this period, Sumeet was also working as a fulltime architect. Sumeet says that acting was a hobby for him and he only indulged in it after office hours. And soon Sumeet chose acting over architecture.

His made his debut with a Zee TV show 'Aap jo bolo, ha toh ha' where he acted alongside Anoop Soni. However, he got his first major break with Balaji when he was chosen to play Gomzi in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. Since then he's remained a Balaji loyalist. However, he's never really settled into one show. He's acted in other Balaji shows such as Karam Apna Apna, Khwaish and Kya Hadsa Kya Haqeeqat (episodic). He's exited from Kyunki and Karam but only to return. In Khwaish, his character only lasted for three months. Currently, he's seen in Kyunki Saas..

Apart from Kyunki, Sumeet has diverted most of his energy to his short film Rehman Sahab Ko Phone Karna Hai which he hopes to complete in few months from now.

He married his girlfriend of three years Amrita in December last year. After tying the knot, Sumeet feels a sense of completeness in his life. Despite his stubborn on-screen images, Sumeet is actually a very shy and private person. When not facing the camera, he chiils out playing tennis, singing and solving crosswords. In fact, he makes it point to dedicate at least an hour a day for crosswords.
