Marriage can wait: Reshmii Ghosh

It's wedding season in tellywood but Reshmii Ghosh, who plays Bhoomi in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, and her fiance, actor Amit Gupta, are in no hurry to tie the knot. The two, who met at their acting classes with Namit Kapoor's academy, have been dating for 7 years and are still going strong.

However, the actress would rather wait a while before becoming Mrs. Gupta. She says, "For me, marriage is very important but that will happen after at least 2 years. Amit and I have decided not to get married just yet. We are waiting for the right time. Everything is in the hands of our parents. When they tell us it is time then we will but until now Amit and I are concentrating on our careers."

In Kyunki… there are so many traditions and customs. Off screen, how traditional are you?
"Even before Kyunki… I knew all the Bengali customs as I come from a joint family in Kolkata and my younger sister got married in the traditional way. I know the importance of family and marriage. Even after winning Miss India Earth 2002, I have stuck to my family values which are very important to me."

Have you planned out the kind of marriage you would like?
"I am comfortable with any marriage as I am familiar with the Bengali and Marwari style of wedding. While being on Kyunki… I have come to learn of the Gujarati style of marriage too. Marriage is a very important moment in a person's life. Amit and I are eagerly awaiting it. We don't have any pressure from our families. They all know about us and are very positive. They had only asked me to wait for the right time to get married as he was still working.

Would you and Amit consider working together?
"Why not? I have already done a play with him and we have worked together in workshops. Amit is very busy with theatre and is doing a show for DD1. If we get the time we would love to work with each other. When the opportunity comes we will take it."

What's happening on Kyunki…?
"An interesting plot is going on between Bhoomi, Karan and Nandini. Nandini's mom is being blackmailed by a stranger so she is rude to her daughter Bhoomi as well as Karan. Recently, I was really in tears onscreen when Nandini's mom (Gauri Pradhan) told her daughter 'Tumhe Meri Itni fikar karne ki jarurat nahi hai aur jarasa Pyaar kiya dikhadiya tum to mere piche pad gayi aur maine tumhe khusi se maine paida nahi kiya tha kyunki tum to mere liye jabardasti ka sauda thi'. I was also very emotional and started to cry when Nandini insults me during her sangeet ceremony. From now, Bhoomi will not keep silent and will try to find out the reasons behind her mother's strange behaviour."

Is it Nandini's mom, or Bhumi's mom? Is there a mistake in ur post, or in the article itself?
