Yusuf > The TV stars today who have become famous are just boring repetitions of their senior colleagues. Is that the reason you want to remove the tag of TV artist from your name?
Akashdeep Saigal > No that's not the reason. The reason is for the kind of mellow drama and mediocrity. I want to be known as a good actor.
Reena > How do you feel when people call you a big screen reject?
Akashdeep Saigal > Till now no one has called me that. It's just that I had rejected working on the big screen because people (not everybody) take you for a ride.
Surabhi > The fact that you want to try in Bollywood again is that the reason you have changed your strategy and are now trying to sell yourself through the medium of TV so that you get your second chance in Bollywood?
Akashdeep Saigal > Yeah because people have to see your talent first and once they do that they would like to come and see you in the theaters. And, people watch you everyday...
Aman > The small screen has given you so much. And we heard that you were chosen to play Ansh Gujral after more than 1000 people were rejected (in audition). Still, why do you not want to carry on in TV?
Akashdeep Saigal > I want to carry on in TV. It's a false rumour that I want to do TV but only the selected roles. The kind if recognition the character of Ansh has given me is what I want to play very strong characters like Ansh. So I am very choosy.
Deepti > The look that you have as Ansh Gujral - who designed it for you? You look suave and different?
Akashdeep Saigal > That's me for a very long time now . I mean it was sort of a bull's eye when I met Ektaa Kapoor for the first time. And there she went on saying that here was our guy .
Faizal > What made Balaji select you finally as Ansh Gujral?
Akashdeep Saigal > After 1150 auditions were done, they called me. I just gave auditioned once and got the role.
Nida > What kinds of roles do you want to play?
Akashdeep Saigal > Like I said earlier, strong negative characters is what I want to play. I want to cash on this Ansh image as of now .
Karun > Do you want to be a scriptwriter or a film director?
Akashdeep Saigal > I am basically very bad at writing .but I have a writer who writes my thoughts out. And we sit and work things together. I believe writing and directing go very well together.
Ritu > You are so talented still why did you choose to be in films and TV?
Akashdeep Saigal > Because that's where people see you and at least they can see my talents.
Shivani > What is this script that you are writing now?
Akashdeep Saigal > It's about entertainment and education. In other words - Paisa Vasool (value for money)!
Diggy > Looking at your profile one gets an impression of a very talented and a successful man. Why then you couldn't make it in Bollywood?
Akashdeep Saigal > Like I said people take you for a ride. But I don't want to blame anybody as the (my) time was bad then but (it) looks good now.
Meghna > Since you are into acting, are you gonna try for the movies too?
Akashdeep Saigal > Yes, that is where I want to be.
Mallika > Why couldn't Farah and you stay together? Were you two engaged? You two would have made a good team.
Akashdeep Saigal > Ya, we could have but there are some things which are not in your hands. Things just happen and happen for a reason. She did live with me for two years. But we were not engaged.
Meghna > You also won the Gladrags title and did modelling for a while. Is modelling a stepping stone to acting? It's rather futile don't you think?
Akashdeep Saigal > Yes it is. .If you have the passion for acting. Otherwise you could turn a choreographer or have an ad agency etc. You can grow in different ways depending on what your passion is. My (late) father's last wish was to see me as an actor. And I am sure wherever he is, he is happy.
