Gautam wore gloves

wasn't it shown that gautam wore gloves when he buried the knife so how did his fingerprints get on the knife

Even if he was the real killer would he be so stupid as to leave his fingerprints on the knife? Wouldn't he have worn gloves while stabbing or even if not wiped the fingerprints afterwards?

😕 But then,I'm again confused as to why Gautam was so intent on hiding the knife.Sure it was the murder weapon but if it contained fingerprints of his or anybody else's he could have just wiped them away & left it where he found it right? Why go to all the trouble to hide it in the dead of the night?He only managed to attract suspicions to himself by that idiotic act
