Star dictates terms to Ekta

never did Ekta Kapoor imagine that a channel could dictate terms to her — that too at this stage of her career as producer. But star tv has done just that. She has been a regular with Star Plus, where she got her first three hits — Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kahaani Ghar Gahr Kii and Kasauti Zindagi Kay and she even acquired some shares in the channel recently. But Ekta was in for a shock when the channel heads asked her to schedule her new show Kya Dill Mein Hai on their rival channel 9x at another time than the originally slotted 9.30 pm. It seems Ekta has a contract with Star that does not allow her to have a show on any other channel during the slots occupied by her on Star. So no Ekta shows on other channels in the primetime slots between 8.30 pm and 11 pm.
Kya Dill Mein Hai was been replaced by Siddharth Basu's Jiya Jale while Ekta's show will now air on weekends. But her other show Kahe Na Kahe will air at 9pm as she doesn't have any serial on Star Plus at that time.
