I won't say every scene of Karan and Nandini is exceptionally great. Speaking of which, the main fault exclusively lies with the handling of their track, which, in my opinion, was downright insensitive. As it is, these creative-cum-empty heads of Kyunki have tried their level hardest to fade the magic of their chemistry by giving them the worst possible scenes with the worst possible dialogues. If Hiten and Gauri were given tailormade romantic scenes many other balaji couples were given, I could not even imagine what heights their chemistry would reach to when they are THIS scintillating even in those lame scenes given to them by these idiots. (They have already proved that in New Kutumb when they were given romantic scenes)
This scenario was the pre-leap scenario. But after the leap, I think there has been considerable improvement in the quality of scenes they are given. Karan's passion for Nandini has been portrayed in a much brighter light and Hiten's natural flair just adds more sparkle to the brilliance of that depiction.
Anyways I am sure most k-n fans are ready to kill me because of my audacity to say all these things but I am not that bad as you all think I am. So I'll just shup up for now on this front and start off with my favorite scenes pre-leap and post-leap, scenes that were powerful enough to leave a lasting impact.
PRE-LEAP
the laddoo scene on the stairs where karan teases nandini when she tells him that she got a job (the element of humor was SO THERE and hiten was at his very BEST!)
the scene where karan is lying on his bed, thinking about nandini while playing with the switch of the lamp, switching it on and off and then they cut to nandini who is also thinking about karan while she is reading a book ( the passion simmering in Hiten's eyes in that scene pronounced sinful temerity...achingly delicious.....oooooooh lala...I still feel this funny ache in my stomach whenever i see him in that scene.....it was such a contrast from the sweet coyness warming up Gauri's eyes when they show Nandini.....her comely smile was just the most fulfilling culmination to that entire scenario )
then the scene in the rain after nandini's marriage is fixed with ansh. where karan screams 'i love you nandini' while sitting by a fire and nandini is crying in her room and breaks that videocam that karan had gifted her (Excruciating longing ABOVE its acme, the projection was terribly superb by both actors)
There is another instance, which is not a full scene but I loved that small bit. It is during some ceremony in honor of Ansh and Nandini's wedding when Nandini's payal falls down and Karan picks it up when no one is looking and puts it in his pocket. i LOVE it when he gets involved in such forbidden indulgences.......only if there were more instances like that
the scene after nandini's rape (Gauri outclassed any and every erstwhile memorable acting renditions, which had been portrayed on television so far......the screaming blankness in her gaze, the deadpan sangfroid of her posture....the way she refuses any support from karan...as if she had lost every hope in the world......every little detail about her portrayal was beyond perfection..........I am still at a loss of words!)
their wedding scene.......I was going berserk when he takes kajal from her lashes and applies on her jawline.....but the final blow for me was when he starts speaking 'kahin meri nazar na lag jae' omgggggggggg the way his voice crinkles so intimately.....as if he was still at a loss of words.......and of course how could the scene complete without nandini's cheeks turning to tomatoes.....I am sure the director did not instruct gauri to blush.....it was just the magic of their chemistry that worked its wonders once again
one of my most favorite scenes ( i know you would kill me when i say that the scene was between karan and gujral, but don't worry, I like Karan and Nandini much more than I would ever like Karan and Gujral together.....) was the party scene when karan threatens gujral to stay away from nandini and bhoomi.....I stayed till two thirty in the night to watch the retelecast as my computer was having problems.....the way Karan said 'meri nandini', those two words were beautiful enough (even more poignant when delivered by Karan) to purloin my sanity
then comes their dance on bhoomi's b'day.....that is one of my MOST FAVORITE SCENES.......although it was totally uncalled for and a totally ludicrous error on the directional front..........but what made it special was EXCLUSIVELY THEIR CHEMISTRY.........their body language was so lovingly intimate......their gazes communicated so musically...overall the epithet of that single frame was so fondly suggestive......looked like they are in their own little world, floating on the clouds.......with no care of the surrounding ambience
last but definitely not the least, it was the scene when Nandini faints in the court.........no magnitude of extravagant encomium would do justice to this scene.......it defeated me to the point of uncontrollable tears......Hiten Tejwani reached beyond the pinnacle of his panache in this very frame!
My God the mail is getting too lengthy.....I never realized it until now..........see that is what happens when you start to dream about this couple.........you lose every iota of reasoning and concern ( I allowed myself this indulgence after a very long time.....man, did it feel good or what!)..........anyways, I am uncouth enough to tell you guys that I would return again to give an account of my favorite post-leap scenes (the list is greater in length of course). Am I thoughtless or what to put anyone through the burden of my state of my craziness.......but not my fault entirely......go blame it on Hiten and Gauri.
luv
