Chap 3

In Shantiniketan..there is Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations going on…Everybody is enjoying, Manthan brings Nandini in, to the utter dismay of Tanya. There is aarti going on and garba is on too…ab agea..

Bhoomi looks on admiringly at Nandini , while Nandini takes blessings from Thakurji and Baa. Lakshya enters…and following right behind him is Ganga, dressed in a Red saree and looking as pretty as ever. Saahil moves towards the door..

S: Aao Ganga…Badi ma tumhare bare mein pooch rahi thi.
G: Tulsi Ma kahain hai?
And Saahil points towards where Tulsi, Baa and other elders are standing.
Ganga goes and touches Tulsi's feet and takes ashirwad from Thakurji and Baa as well.

Tulsi asks all the married couples to do pooja, when it's Saahil's turn, saahil and tripti do the pooja, and Mohini finds this opportunity to her use..and taunts Ganga

M: Arey Ganga..tum yahain kyon khadi ho..tumhein too wahan hona chahiye(pointing towards Saahil and Tripti)..arey, mein to bhool hi gayi..tum ab uski patni nehi ho…sorry.
G: Koi baat nehi hai Mohini, tum bhi Harsh ki patni ho, par kismet to dekho, tumhare pati ke rahte huye bhi tum akeli ho..and moves away from there.
Mohini mumbles to herself : Yeh ganga kuch zayada hi taz ho gayi hai..Tripti ko batana padega!

Ganga goes and stands beside lakshya, KT and Ekalavya are doing the pooja now..Lakshya looks sad and visualizes himself and KT..
G: Maat socho kya ho sakta tha…jo hai usi ko apna lo..
L: Ma..ap kah rahi hai yeh?
G: hain beta, takdeer aur kismet ka khel bahut hi anokha hai…jo hum chatein hain, wo kabhi nehi hota, aur agar hota bhi hai, to bhagwan use cheen lete hain.
L: Ap aj bhi nehi bhool paye jo apke saath bees saal pahle hua, fir , meri kahani ko to ek saal bhi nehi hua…mein kaise bhoola duin?

Nakul comes there and taps on Ganga's shoulder..
N: Ap yahain kyon ayi hai..kya ap nehi janti, meri Mom ko pasand nehi, apka yahain ana..
L: Nakul bhaiya, ap jinse baat kar rahein hain, wo meri Ma hai..aur tumhari bhi…
N: Nehi lakshya..yeh meri Ma nehi hai..
And nakul leaves..

G: Mujhe chalna chahiye…
S: Arey Ganga, itni jaldi kaise..khana kha kar to jao, aur fir pooja bhi khatam nehi hua hai…
L: hain Ma, abhi Garba phir se shuru hogi, apko bhi khelna hoga, mere saath..
G: lekin…
S: Lekin vekin kuch nehi, theek hi to kah raha hai Lakshya..

Everybody is playing garbha..Tripti stands with Tanya and Mohini.
Damini comes to them and asks them to join…Mohini joins Damnin but the other two don't answer her. Damini shrugs and leaves with Mohini.

Ganga is playing Garba too..and her garbha stick slips out of her and falls near Saahil..
Both saahil and Ganga bend down to pick it up at the same time, and they place their hands on each others.Ganga slowly looks up and so does Saahil..
Hand on hand, Ganga and Saahil talk through their eyes..

G: Pahle jab tumne haat thama tha to saat janmoin ka wada kiya tha..Saahil abb..??
S: wada to mein ne kiya tha Ganga, aaj bhi wo wada nibhana chata huin, mujhe ek aur mauka to do..
G: Zindagi mein ek hi baar pyaar aur shaadi hoti hai Saahil, meine dono tumhi se kiya tha..
S: Meri zindagi mein, tum nehi to kuch bhi nehi Ganga..wapas a jao..
G: Mein to kahin nehi Gayi thi..tumhi ne mujhe chod diya…

A tear drops from Saahil's eyes and falls on Ganga's hand, she comes back to reality and looks down at her hand..and takes her hand off saahil's and doesn't wipe the tear off it..She slowly stands up and so does Saahil..

G: sambhalo apne ap ko Saahil..tum toot gaye to mera kya hoga..
S: Ganga…
G: Aj tak meine sirf tumse nafrat hi kiya hai, par mein kya karuin saahil, tumne mujhe aur koi rasta hi nehi choda..
S: mujhe ek aur mouka to do Ganga…
G: Nehi Saahil, ab tumhari zindagi mein meri koi jagah nehi hai…jao..tumhara pariwar tumhara intezar kar raha hai…

And she leaves SN. Lakshya comes from behind Saahil and puts a hand on his shoulder..

L: Papa…
S: lakshya beta…wo..
L: kuch mat kahiye aap…
And with that Saahil leaves for his room..
He enters his study and looks at his and Ganga's photo and remembers his good times and what happened today and the song "Tu jo nehi hai to, kuch bhi nehi" plays in the background. Something near the bed catches his eyes..he goes and picks the paper up, but before he can see what it is, KT comes up..

KT: Chahu, sab Baa niche bula rahein hai..jaldi ayiye..
S: Accha…(he puts the paper on his desk) and leaves with KT..

The paper flies and falls on the ground, but this time, face up..and it's the cheque that Mihir had given to Saahil for his share of the house….
