A Riva runs through it
Although I don't know this petite actress too well, there is something about Riva Bubber's easygoing attitude that instantly puts me at ease. From her screen mother-in-law (Smriti Irani), to her screen husband (Sumeet Sachdev), Riva, otherwise Damani on Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, gets along splendidly with all. Since her debut with Neena Gupta's Kyun Hota Hai Pyaar there's been no looking back for this actress. We stop by Riva's Versova pad for a glimpse at the private space that defines the woman...

1 MY DOG AND I
Riva lives with her interior designer mother and dog Benji, a cocker spaniel. "Our house has very little furniture; we don't believe in crowding the space," says Riva of this tasteful and subtly-decorated space.
2 MUM COMES FIRST
The lady loves candles. Her collection includes aroma candles, candles with glitter, candle stands and displays. Here's a picture of baby Riva and Mom on her dressing table. "I love this picture because I think my Mom looks like a goddess in it."

Riva keeps in touch with
the trends. "I was a model
before I became an actress. So, my knowledge about clothes and make-up is fairly good." Not too fond of accessories, her closet is mostly full of shirts and T-shirts. "I'm scared to experiment much with clothes. I'm very comfortable in my jeans and T-shirts, and that's what I wear even to parties."
4 SUBURBAN HEIGHTS
Riva moved into her 2nd floor, 2-bedroom, 1,000 sq ft flat in Versova on July 15 (her birthday) this year. "A house reflects the personality of the person living in it," she says. That explains the placid white of the walls, floors and even the curtains. Did we mention Riva is a totally calm and collected soul?
5 NATURE GIRL
An actor leads a tough life. There is no time
to work out or go for long leisurely walks in the
mornings. But Riva heads straight to the garden with her dog in tow. She also relaxes with reading – mostly fiction from John Grisham and Sidney Sheldon, although her favourite book was Mario Puzo's 'The Godfather'.
