'I didn't want to do Kyunki...'

But Resshmi Ghosh says that playing Bhumi has given her what eight years of working hasn't

"Ifeel a tad scared after what all happened," says Resshmi Ghosh, the dusky beauty from Star Plus' Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi... who is making waves with her role of Bhumi in the serial these days. 'What all' refers to the time when she acted in a couple of films but those films never saw the light of the day. Ask her how many movies she has acted
in and she says, "Frankly speaking, I've stopped thinking about those films. If they release, good for them and in a way it will be good for me, as the audience will be able to see my talent in a different light," she says. Resshmi admits that she used to think a lot about these films earlier but now, she has taken things in her stride. "When I meet people now, I meet them like I've just started working in this industry," she adds. The lady has other things on her mind these days—her role of Bhumi in Kyunki... for instance. "I didn't want to do the show initially. I had my apprehensions as there were so many actors in it," she recalls and then adds, "But Ekta Kapoor convinced me. She didn't promise me anything but she told me that Bhumi's role would be very important in the show, almost parallel to that of Tulsi," she says. Resshmi is now happy that the audience have accepted her whole-heartedly in that role. "Initially, I wasn't getting the hang of the character but now, I'm living the role," she says adding that it's still difficult to play the character at times as she's so different from Resshmi. "But one thing's for sure, this role has given me the kind of popularity that my eight years of working hasn't," she says, adding that it's all because of Ekta's belief in her. Resshmi admits that she still gets film offers but at the moment, Kyunki... takes up all her time. "And I think I'm rocking on-screen!" she laughs.
