I want to get rid of Osama Bin Laden" says Gautami Kapoor

by Meenakshi Shankar

I want to fight terrorism and if I could do away with one person, it would be Osama Bin Laden! Our world is such a beautiful place, but marred by the perpetrators of gun totting terrorists. If I could fight for a cause I would join a campaign to end death and destruction, mayhem and killing of innocent life on this planet.

The blood spilled does not make any sense to me. Why would you kill innocent people. Why would you want to shoulder the responsibility of so many deaths? I want to wipe away terrorism from the world and make it a better place to live in...

It is a burning desire in every individual's life to do something meaningful. And the reason I am so passionate is because I have a two year old daughter, Sia and I want to make the world a better and safer place for her to live in. The recent bombings took a little bit of me away. It is so scary...you step out for your daily chore, but you never know what is in store. The constant looking-over-your-shoulder is not the kind of world I want our daughter to grow up.

From essaying a pivotal role of 'Tulsi' in Kyunki...to gracing the cover of Vogue India, Gautami Kapoor is a content lady. She says, "My milestone today is being a part of Sia's life. She's just turned 2 and she sang her first national anthem. It is a milestone in our lives. I am content at this pace and when something good comes along, I will take it up."

She adds, "It is not the question of daily soap or reality showcase. I think it is a question of a balancing act. I will not take up something wherein I will have to toil for 12- 15 hours and in the process miss out on small things in Sia's life. My life is beautiful and it hasn't been better..."

Talking to this gorgeous and level headed actress is always a pleasure. And more so, when the actress feels so passionately about an issue which is a cause of worry for most of us. When probed on if she was contemplating of joining politics, she laughed off the rumors and said, "Sia is my centrifugal force. And politics is something I am not keen on. Though, I would like to see a young India at the helm of a young Indian."
