Pradeep represents patriarchy...Please Read!

Personally, I do not watch hindi serials on a daily basis, only when my aunt/mom is and my shows aren't on (wooo Jeopardy!) Otherwise I don't watch tv in general, my way to boycott the idiotic, male centred shows that are abundant.

I hate Pradeep, and I see I am not the only one on this forum. He represents everything I hate, he's just a man who expects a trophy wife, but cannot fathom the thought of a woman coming in to her own. He liked Anu because she can give him all the things that Mona cannot, such as advance him in business. When he gets Anu he wants her to be like a housewife, subjecting her to the roles that society places on women. She does it, because she is in love with him. He is starting to miss Mona because she was a great housewife, her home cooked food etc.

He is just a patriarch, wants his wife to look as cool or be as fun as the perception society has and still wants a stepford wife at home. I once again, am not as familiar with this serial.

I utterly despise pradeep as a character but hats off to pawan shanker the actor...

some more points to hate pradeep:

1. he is utterly insensitive to the woman he lives with, whether its anu or mona - very evidennt from the scene in thu's epi when anu is angry that he went to sleep with mona and kids. the way he responds to anu was totally insensitive - he even says u r talking like mona. - what the heck?

2. when sees mona working in the same office, he haq se calls mona out and dishes out a lot of crap, say earlier i respected u but now i hate u...how dare he? who is he to hate her? and why? just becoz she wants to secure hers and her children future?

3. He can't even bear to see her smile with vineet - what the hell is is ur prob man? u already left her, told her u hate her...so now whatever she does should be no business of urs

u dont want her as ur wife, yet can't give up ur haq as a hubby?
