He held the letter close to his heart and then opened it. It was blank. He was confused. Why would she send him a blank note? He wondered.

Preeta came back to her house and sat down in her favorite corner. She thought about every moment with karan from beginning to now, how he had protected through all the odds and the feeling in her heart bothered her. What was happening? Why did she give him a blank letter? Had she gone all the way to give him a blank letter? Why did she even go see him ? She thought to herself.

She noticed that she was alone in the room. Her sister had gone out to a late movie and wasn't going to back. She recalled how Karan protected her against Deepak. The anger and pain in his eyes. She couldn't ever forget it. She had never seen him before like this.. and his wounds? They were causing her pain. A pain she felt when she lost her father.. was she afraid of losing karan? Why? She thought as tears rolled down.

She slowly grabbed a white blank page and begin to slowly write something down..


Karan stared at the white paper that was blank. What did it mean? What was she trying to say? Unable to understand, he decided to ask someone that knew. He grabbed his laptop and hit "Google. He typed in , blank letter?

Google had plenty of answers and each were more confusing than the other ones. He stared into the laptop. He had or know. Should he ask someone? He thought to himself. He noticed the time. Should he call her?

Preeta stared at the words that she had wrote on her letter. The words made sense to her heart but her brain was questioning her? What was happening? She looked at time and back at her phone. Why hadn't he called? She thought to herself.

Google had confused him to no end. "Google was supposed to help people and it's confusing me even more now he thought to himself. He stared at the time. It was getting late but he couldn't help but wonder about the blank letter.

Preeta felt like the more she walked, the more confused she would get. She decided to sleep and just try to forget it when she felt a car sound. She rushed outside to see him standing there looking confused. He had that letter in his hand and a scratching head. She couldn't help but smile. He was definitely the only person she wanted to see right now. He looked confused and she was happy.

She slowly opened the door and rushed outside. There he was standing and he was surprised yet happy to see her.

He walked up to her

"Preeta, you're still awake? "

" woh mein.. she didn't have words to describe how happy she was to see him.

"Karan, what are you doing here? She changed the subject back to him.

"Woh actually he didn't have the words either

"Did you forget something ? Asked Preeta

"Actually, I came to ask you something he responded

"What did you want to ask me? replied preeta

"Preeta, why did you give me this blank letter? " he asked her.

She was surprised. He had come all the way to ask about this blank letter. Before she could answer, a sound cane from behind and startled them... they were shocked..

She walked towards him with that letter in his hand. A smile creeped upon her face. She felt happy that he came all the way to see her with that letter in his hand. He was confused "Why am I here? he thought to himself.

Before she could say anything, there was a loud sound. As they both turned around, they found a cat on the ground looking at them.

A smile came on their face, both rushed towards the cat and banged their heads in the process.

"Ouch both said loudly.

"Are you okay Preeta he said first. She nodded and she asked him the same question and he nodded back also.

They both stood up, him still holding onto that letter.

"Karan, what are you doing here?, that too at this late at night?

"Well Preeta, I came to ask you about this letter, why is it blank?

She smiled. But she didn't have any words to explain why she left the words blank. He still persisted but all she could responded was a "I don't know

"This girl will drive me mad he thought to himself.

"Coffee' she said breaking his thoughts away

"Coffee?? he responded

"Yes, there is a great coffee guy nearby, he makes really good coffee she responded.

He was confused. Here he wanted to know about the letter but she was harping coffee but he didn't know why , he managed to nod a yes.

He grabbed the keys from his pocket when she stopped him.

"Its just around the corner, we can walk she said.

For some reason, he didn't bother arguing with her. He nodded yes and they started their journey.

There was silence all around. But the silence wasn't empty, it was full of answers.

He stared at her as she walked side by side and she looked at him in intervals smiling at him. There was silence between them but it was a beautiful silence.

They made it to the coffee place and ordered for two coffee. They tried to find a place to sit and found a nearby table which was dirty.

She ushered the guy to clean the table and he did. She made sure Karan sat properly even though he was scanning the place as if she made him come in a garbage dump. She couldn't help but laugh,

Her happiness was infectious. He knew it the moment he heard it for the first time. There was something different in the way she smiled. He had seen so many girls smile but her smile was different. A smile creped on his face too.

He probably had the most cutest smile she had seen on someone. The way he smiled and the way he looked at her, she felt happy. His smile was important to her.

She broke the silence.

"Karan?

"Hmmm

"Thank you

"Thank you?

"Thank you for fighting for me. Thank you for supporting me and Thank you for what you did today. You didn't need to do it but you still did and you even took all this wounds for me. Thank you for being there when no one else was. Thank you for believing in me. She said with a tear rolling down her eyes.

Her tears didn't just spill all over the table, they crashed around him. He couldn't stand to see her sad or tears in her eyes. He hated it when she cried.

"Preeta, please don't cry. You know I don't like it when you're sad and don't thank me. I didn't do anything extraordinary.

"You are extraordinary Karan

"No Preeta. I did everything because I trust you. I trust you and that's why I knew that Deepak was lying. "

She was happy. Her happiness didn't stem from the fact that Karan beat up Deepak but because he trusted her. He didn't want her to ever be sad.

Just before she could say anything else, the coffee arrived. And before she could say anything, he put the coffee in his mouth and let out a scream.

"Karan, have you lost it? she shouted.

He looked at her like little five year old that had been just scolded by his mommy.

"Coffee is hot. Are you okay? " she asked with a worried face.

He loved seeing her caring face.

"I am fine Miss Kareli he responded with a smirk.

She hated all the names he gave her before but now each word was special for her. Because it was his way of calling her.

They both finished their coffee and headed back home. Throughout the whole walk, she wished it could last and it didn't end but she didn't know why she felt that.

She noticed that he held on her blank piece of paper as it was gold. She didn't know why she gave him a blank letter when she had written something for him in that paper she had in her room.

Why did she give him a blank letter?

He watched her lost in her thoughts. There was some confusion in her head and he wanted to know what it was. Did it have to do it with the letter? Why did she give me this blank letter? He thought to himsef.

The house came and it was time to say bye. On a normal day, this would have been normal but neither of them wanted to say bye. Preeta looked at him and he looked back at her.

Just then a noise from behind came...

"Di?

Amazing! Good lord, it was just a cat!! Lol!
