We all are big fans of Sumit and Kumkum. We have seeen them go through so many things in their life. Whether they were happy or sad, we ppl have always supported them. If they are happy, we are happy and if ther are sad, we cry with them. We have seen them develop their relationship into such a strong bond that no one can ever break.
So i thought why not give a thought to all the relationships Sumit & Kumkum have shared with each other.
1. DEVAR - BHABHI : This was the initial and the formal relationship between them. When Kumkum got married to Jatin and came to Wadhwa house, Sumit was her "devar". We saw that they shared a very rapport with each other. The fun of their relationship was beautifully portrayed.
2. FRIENDS : Though they were "devar-bhabhi" , they always treated each other as friends. They understood each other very well and helped each other when in need. It was Kumkum who convinced Renuka's father for Sumit and Renuka's marriage because being his sister-in-law, it was her duty and being her best friend, it was her responsibility. Even after their marriage, they did not ruin their friendship. They were, they are and they always will be "BEST FRIENDS". When everyone thought Manik to be Jatin & Sumit left Kumkum for his brother, then also he wanted their friendship to remain intact. He asked Kumkum for the same. They have always shared a strong bond and this bonding does not let them hide anything from each other.
3. HUSBAND - WIFE : It would not be wrong to say that their marriage was totally circumstantial. Sumit had to marry Kumkum to save his grandfather's life and the dignity of Kumkum and his family. But as time passed, their marriage grew to be the best and the strongest mariage ever in the television, as many people tried to separate them but were unsuccessful. They never betrayed each other's trust. When Sumit left Wadhwa House and went to Renuka's House, Renuka tried to make him accept her, but he refused her straight away. Although he was not in love with Kumkum at that time, he knew he was married and had certain duties towards his wife. Similiarly when Sumit was in jail & Vishal blackmailed Kumkum into signing divorce papers, she thought of dying rather than wearing someone else's sindoor. The relationship between Sumit and Kumkum as husband and wife is full of reality.
4. LOVERS : Though their marriage was totally circumstantial, they gradually began falling in love with each other. It cannot be said that who fell in love earlier. Dhruv played a very important role in bringing them closer as they both cared for him a lot and this meant that they had to spend a lot of time with each other while taking care of him. Renuka also had an important impact on their love life as if she had not tried to take Kumkum's place in Sumit's life, he would not have realised her importance in his life. With the passage of time and so many hurdles, their love became stronger than ever and now it is hard to imagine that both Sumit & Kumkum had someone else in their lives before getting married to each other.
5. PARENTS : Sumit and Kumkum have been extremely good parents who love their children a lot. Sumit has always treated Dhruv as his own elder son even though he is not. He has never thought him separate from himself even for a moment. When during Abhay Chauhan's time, the Wadhwas had to leave their house, Dhruv was very ill, and they had no money for his treatment, Sumit sold his blood to a hospital to save his son's life. Though the elder Dhruv has so far contradicted against Sumit's wishes, Sumit still wants his son to be happy and agrees to whatever he wants. With his other kids, Sharman and Aashka, he shares more of a friendly relationship. Kumkum is also a very good mother. She has always thought of her kids and fulfilled all their demands. When she had brain-tumour, she refused to save her own life for the sake of her children. In short, even though many of us do not like to see our dear Sumit & Kumkum as parents, we cannot deny that they are very good parents.
6. FATHER & MOTHER-IN-LAW : They have treated their daughter-in-law as their own daughter. So it is needless to say that they are good mom & dad-in-law as well.
So we find that whatever be the relationship between Sumit and Kumkum, they have portrayed it beautifully. All their relationships are so strong that they have ben able to survive all the hardships that have come across their way.
So i thank the creative team of Kumkum - Ek pyaara sa bandhan, for giving us Sumit and Kumkum, and their immensely lovable and beautiful world.👏
