Juhi Parmar, who plays the title role in Kumkum, is to cross the border again in December this year, for the shooting of her second Pakistani television serial, Rukhe Naina

By now it is evident that Kumkum, alias Juhi Parmar, is quite popular in Pakistan. It was only a few months ago when she bagged her first television show Tere Ishq Mein. The show is yet to be aired, tentatively, in the first week of November. The dust has only just begun to settle on her cross-border production, when Juhi went on to sign her second Pak TV project. She has just been finalised for Rukhe Naina, a Pakistani show that will show her in a different light. "I've just signed a new show in Pakistan called Rukhe Naina; I play the title role in it," she reveals.
The actress is looking forward to playing 'Naina' in this woman-centric soap. She speaks about her character: "I play a tomboyish character, who hates men… it has something to do with the experience her mother has had. She always avoids them, and in her attempt to keep them at bay, even starts to dress and behave like them."
So does that cancel the possibility of romance for her in the plot? "Not at all," she replies. "Naina has a man in her life who loves her, but she doesn't reciprocate his feelings. But she eventually falls for him. In fact, he is the one responsible for making her think, act, dress, and feel like a woman."
This 13-episode show will commence shooting in December. How is she going to manage her busy dates? "There is no way I will put Kumkum on hold. I'll work out my dates as soon as Khabursaab, the director of the show, decides when to resume shooting. All I know is that that I'm terribly excited about returning to Pakistan." She says that the people there are full of life. "I'd received such a lot of love and pampering, that I can't wait to go back again."
