I know what "kumkum" & "bhagya" mean but the logic behind putting them together is still unknown to me after watching 3 & half seasons .. I read somewhere ekta believes in superstitions a lot, so she tries to name most of her shows with K, it's lucky for her lol .

When gen 3 was ending, makers didn’t want any connection to the previous gen. Their whole bet was on Pranali, thinking the show would work without the legacy factor. So they killed off both her parents, kept her completely disconnected from her family and jumped straight into their Pranak nonsense. That’s one of the major reasons, along with their bland chemistry, why this season lost a big chunk of the audience in the first week itself. And when it clearly backfired, they had to bring Purvi back to re-establish the legacy factor and try to reconnect with the audience..

If only Abrar (who played prarthana's father) wasn’t doing a show on rival channel, they probably would’ve brought his character back too.. Coz here they always keep old actors after gen leap, giving new gen time to connect with the masses before phasing the old ones out. But makers were quite overconfident this time..
