Aliya said Meera is just a caretaker and employee so I guess Abhi hired her to take care of Rhea since Pragya wasn't there. Rhea said Meera has taken care of her like a mother since childhood so has been a mother figure in her life and loved and taken care of Rhea like her own. As a mother that gives Meera every right to punish Rhea if she makes a mistake blood relation is not everything Meera has loved Rhea like her own daughter. She is just trying to stop Rhea from going onto the wrong path like any mother would.

I don't believe Meera is going to stay positive she is obviously in love with Abhi and Pragya returning is going to make her insecure. Just like they ruined a great character like King in the last leap Meera will be ruined in this one.

And rhea was pretending and saying all that to emotionally blackmail meera into hiding her crime from abhi. Rhea herself said it to aliya about blood relations being above all etc, so rhea doesn't see meera as her mother either in actual and is truly an evil brat.
