Every now and then, I find Suresh doing weird things unlike the "righteous man" he generally is.
From a character perspective, it's interesting. But it is hard to talk this way or that way. Let me explain what I mean.
From early on, Suresh fought injustice in general. He has tackled wrong doers, stood up when he was wronged etc.
He has claimed he loves Bulbul but hasn't done much to win her or made an effort for her to realize the depth of his emotions for her. Why? Does he believe that the pretty, confident Bulbul will never be his?
In his love for Bulbul, he refuses to marry Pragya but then, later agrees because she helped him with his sister. In one way he was trying to be grateful to Pragya and was trying to make her happy but every single day he was telling his friend how he can't get over Bulbul.
Then he gets to know Bulbul might be having an affair with Purab. Again, he does not do much about it other than feeling sad. Weird that he never lets his emotions for Bulbul come out. Wonder if he is not confident of himself to pursue Bulbul because she is pretty and he thinks she would prefer a more good looking man like Purab anyway?
But I am more confused with his emotions for Pragya.
It was clear initially that he did not want to marry Pragya, but when Pragya figured out he loved Bulbul and called off the wedding herself, he wasn't happy. I agree he would be unhappy that she found out his "not so convincing" sacrifice but why wasn't he relieved that he didn't have to marry someone whom he didn't love and at the same time Bulbul at least got to know of his emotions?
The creepiest thing Suresh has done so far was what he did during Abhi-Pragya pag phere!!!
Why would Suresh peep through Pragya's window? During the day when Abhi waves at him and again during the night he is peeping. Let's argue he was looking for BB, but why did he not move away when he noticed it wasn't BB but Pragya in the room? Further why did he keep looking after he saw Abhi? Why did he not stop even after Abhi took his shirt off? That was disgusting. It took Abhi almost showing him a finger to take him off of the window.
What is it about Suresh telling Abhi that he is lucky to have Pragya every time he sees him? Is he always saying you have what I lost?
Why did Suresh make Abhi go to jail without telling even Pragya? I agree Suresh had an idea that something was wrong between Abhi and Pragya but what do you do when you find you have a chance to put your best friend's husband to jail? Would you not at least tell your best friend so that she knows and at least can do something about it? It almost seemed like he wanted to take Abhi out of Pragya's life.
When Abhi comes to beat him up after the MMS incident, Suresh tells Abhi that Pragya had feelings for him. Why did he do that? Does he not know it would escalate an already boiling situation? Why could he not say Pragya fell, Mitali had invited him? But he rather chooses to say something to instigate Abhi further. Intriguing.
When Abhi forces him to marry Pragya, he obliges. Yes, Abhi blackmailed him, but I found it hard to believe, Suresh who always stood up against wrong chooses to not report to police that Abhi is blackmailing him. Nor does he put much effort into prove him and Pragya innocent. I agree that he didn't have to prove anything since he was not wrong, but if he got ready to marry Pragya it means he was worried the MMS would harm Pragya and him if released. If he was worried about that, then why not do something about it than agreeing to marry?
I agree with Suresh when he says Abhi does not deserve Pragya. But does that mean he should marry her? Why can't he motivate her to be independent and leave Abhi?
And he was disappointed that his and Pragya's wedding was cancelled. He had no relief that he didn't have to marry Pragya while they both love other people.
He had total right to call Abhi psycho and all that but he did not realize Abhi did something Pragya wanted to do and even helped Pragya and him by clearing their names in the MMS. Nor did he realize Abhi had to let his ego go and even punish his sister to prove Pragya right.
The question comes to this. Is Suresh jealous of Abhi that he has Pragya whom he lost? Is he jealous that Abhi somehow charms everyone while he finds it hard to get into the good books of Aroras? From what he said to Abhi it seemed like he wishes Abhi-Pragya break up. He did not want them to be together and happy. I understand why he would feel that way knowing Pragya gets hurt all the time but he doesn't want to admit that Pragya wants to be with Abhi and loves him.
Or is he just trying to make Abhi realize Pragya's worth in his own way?
I have a hard time to decide if Suresh's reactions are because he really cares for Pragya or because he does not tolerate Abhi.
Now Abhi is gonna make it easy for Bulbul and Purab to unite. I wonder what would be Suresh's reaction to that. And may be we will know the depth of his emotions for BB.
