I was thinking I might have missed something in my binge watching last week that would be able to enlighten me as to why Abhi is now in love with Tanu but from what you say I haven't.
Abhi's love for his family has come through clearly but it was the romantic love that was confusing me. I was getting the impression that he was turning to Tanu more and more since he got married which is slightly worrying - it could be because he is building barriers against his wife or because he wants to prove to himself that his marriage doesn't make any difference to him.
Stone hearted heroes are a little over and done with for me now! I like Abhi's cheekiness and teasing quality.

I thought I recognized your name when I saw this post, but I was on my phone and couldn't check. But now I've checked and feel the need to tell you that hello, hi, I read and loved loved loved your SNS fic Bandhan back in the day! Like even now Gopi's last name is Parekh in my headcanon, and sometimes I'll randomly think about how perfect it is that you named Ahem's child Garv (I didn't know what the words meant when I originally read your fic). I don't think I ever commented because I was a lurker back then, so hence this completely off topic burbling 😳
Anyway. I hope you will continue to find KKB worth watching. It's interesting that you got the impression he was turning to Tanu more and more; I never thought that, rather what caught my attention was how Pragya and Daadi kept getting between Abhi and Tanu, and not usually on purpose. As far as I remember it, it was like the universe was working against Abhi keeping his connection with Tanu strong.
But, yes, I also think there's an element of Abhi deliberately trying to cling onto Tanu, to remind himself that he still wants to have the life he had before marrying Pragya, and to avoid being drawn too close to Pragya. It's an instinctive reaction and not a very honourable one, but perhaps you can see that on some level he really fears giving into the possibility Pragya represents, because what he would have with her is bigger than he can understand. Then again that might be my delusional shipper's view, seeing things that aren't there at all yet. 😆
Also I think there's always going to be a disconnect between what we're supposed to believe about a character (their initial characterization, what people say about them, what they repeat about themselves) and how a character acts/thinks during any given track. Abhi at the beginning of the show doesn't believe in love. He's happy to be with Tanu just because she's beautiful and glamorous and they have a kind of friendship too, a history going back to earlier in their lives, but he's not
in love with her, and he doesn't love her in the sense of epic romance either (I'd argue he probably does love her as a friend on a certain level, because he's the kind of guy who deeply cares about the people he gets close to).
Now that his life has become complicated by being involved with and slowly growing attached (and maybe attracted) to Pragya, he may start to think/say that he loves Tanu and ultimately wants to be with her again. It makes a useful argument when he's trying to make Pragya feel bad, which the story will often call for him to do - and sometimes just to make himself feel better.
So then we have the choice of believing what he says, and taking his supposed love for Tanu at face value, or we can call it a front/defense mechanism for his real feeling. I guess it depends on how far you want to make excuses for a character (I make a lot, if you couldn't tell!).
Anyway ultimately I think Tanu's just a distraction, a lesser obstacle in AbhiGya's tortured path to love. She makes a useful antagonist in these early days, but they are going to have much bigger problems going forward, and already have the huge basic problem of
not communicating properly. So I would argue that the infidelity aspect is not an important part of the story...or, at least, it isn't to me.
Not sure all that rambling is very useful to you, but yeah, those are my thoughts 😊
