I cannot wrap my arms around why anybody would want to be married to Abhi, including Tanu. He is: 1. an extremely violent man who seems to settle everything with a slap/punch or screaming (apparently he never went to kindergarten and did not learn to use his words and inside voice!). Regardless of how provoked or angry you are, violence of any kind is out of line and smacks of immaturity.
2. Obsessed with his sister and grandmother. Whereas a man who is disrespectful to female relatives should throw up red flags, so too should a man who will do anything to please his sister/mother/grandmother. We no longer live in the Mahabharata where mother's orders were supreme.
3. Stupid. Who in their right mind would marry someone to get her out of the way for his sister? If Pragya was so obsessed with money, he could have paid her off, or better yet, paid someone to get rid of her. But marrying her, really?
4. Weak. He does not have the courage to stand up for his own convictions. Not only is he cheating on Pragya, but also on Tanu. Just because your GF gave you permission to get married, and your wife gave you permission to screw around, does not make it right.

What exactly is the premise of this show? That marriage is a sham institution and can be used to move people out of the way or force others into fake relationships? Or is it that "good" girls like Pragya and Bulbul must be married, even if it is only to crazy, weak men, and that they should be meek, timid mice in order to keep the peace and happiness. Why would someone like Pragya consider her marriage to be her most precious possession, when the sanctity of that marriage is non-existent and she herself pushes Abhi to Tanu.

I also can't get over the stereotypes -- the goodies are overly good to the point of stupidity and the baddies are super bad. Tanu and Aaliya apparently have absolutely no moral compass or redeeming qualities whatsoever. They are either stupid bimbos obsessed with their looks, or violently insane "tomboys" like Aliya.

Whatever happened to the female strength they showed in the beginning with Pragya's convictions, Suresh's sister, Sarla's single motherhood? These are the role models we should be emulating, not a woman trying to please a verbally and physically violent man simply because she is married to him.

Rant over.
