Sujatha, Good post!Children indeed are a blessing, they really transform your world. They are a source of positive energy.
This joy is not restricted only to the biological parents, any one who lets herself or himself enjoy some moments with a child will be transported to a beautiful world.
That is why I find Kushi hard to digest as there is no child in her. However, harsh life has been with you, there is a certain innocence in children which surfaces in their behaviour or conversation.
Every child who comes into this world needs to be nurtured, and cared for but not everyone's blessed with financial and emotional support, so many children are deprived of parental love. This definitely has an impact on the child and society.
Which is why I respect the person who can exercise the choice and boldly does it, despite pressures.
In my profession, we have counselled parents who were eager to have another child so that they have a "normal child' as the parents feel inadequate. Some say they want a sibling as a support for this 'special child'. Both reasons are selfish reasons to bring a child into the world.
I have utmost respect for parents of children with special needs but at the end of the day, every child is an individual asnd should not come into this world with a responsibility tagged on.
Whether planned or unplanned every child is special and needs love and care more than anything else in the world to grow as a healthy individual.

thank you Sumi...children are a blessing...to their parents and to the world at large...and of course biology has nothing to do with it...

My post does not negate choice...that is a matter of individual perspective...however, it questions the concept of choice itself...do we really have the power to make the choice...if destiny wills otherwise, the choice is taken out of our hands...

a child should be first viewed as a blessing...it saddens me that nobody on the show has spoken of a child as a blessing or as a treasure that nature makes us custodians of...to nurture and care for it till it reaches maturity...all the discussions on responsibility, option and choice are fine...But with so much of rationalising, the beauty of the miracle is lost...that is all I am saying...

On Khushi, if the child has been taken out of her, that is not her fault but that of the world around her...so let us not blame the child for that...anyway, what is being shown is overly dramatised...I think we all understand that...the child is being used as a propaganda vehicle...so, I don't think there is any point in commenting about what she does or says...however, my sympathies lie with the child playing the character...I am only hoping she will not be overly impacted by what she is being made to do!

Sujatha i am always left speechless with your posts and this one is no exception.

Children are the greatest gift and blessing to a parent. I always feel that birth, death and marriage...these 3 things are in God's hands. But it pains me to see the parents using their innocent child in various shows.

Sujatha, great post.

Indeed, children are a blessing. They learn from you and you also in turn, learn from them.

All children are born blessings, even the Khushis of this world. In fact the Khushis of the world are our lessons on all that we are doing wrong!

So true.

And yes, it is sad to see children turned into performing monkeys...

You can see numerous couples yearning for babies...Kehte hai na kismat se jyada kisi ko kuchh nahi milta...Yahaan kismat ko propogate nahi kar rahi..bas keh rahi hoon..
Kitne Bachche Hote hai jo do roti ko taraste hai..aur kitno ko Roti khilane ke liye Tarah tarah ke bahane banane padte hai...
Hamari samaaj ki vivashta hai ye..
Last line ne Dil choo liya...
