Sujatha, Good post!Children indeed are a blessing, they really transform your world. They are a source of positive energy.
This joy is not restricted only to the biological parents, any one who lets herself or himself enjoy some moments with a child will be transported to a beautiful world.
That is why I find Kushi hard to digest as there is no child in her. However, harsh life has been with you, there is a certain innocence in children which surfaces in their behaviour or conversation.
Every child who comes into this world needs to be nurtured, and cared for but not everyone's blessed with financial and emotional support, so many children are deprived of parental love. This definitely has an impact on the child and society.
Which is why I respect the person who can exercise the choice and boldly does it, despite pressures.
In my profession, we have counselled parents who were eager to have another child so that they have a "normal child' as the parents feel inadequate. Some say they want a sibling as a support for this 'special child'. Both reasons are selfish reasons to bring a child into the world.
I have utmost respect for parents of children with special needs but at the end of the day, every child is an individual asnd should not come into this world with a responsibility tagged on.
Whether planned or unplanned every child is special and needs love and care more than anything else in the world to grow as a healthy individual.
