The problem with today's shows is that they are all proposals. They never have the complete story before that start the show. They try to gauge the trend and then think of plots which is why we see characters in show not behaving the way they were established to. Secondly not every concept is a Mon-Fri concept. There are some stories that can't be stretched into a daily soap but as an hourly weekly show they could work wonder. This was one such story. They call this an adaptation of Dhoop Kinaare but they totally missed the point. Dhoop Kinare was about a couple with a age difference who take time to realize they they love each other, there was no-one opposing them. Only towards the end they realise they complete each other.
Here you start with the title "kuchh to log kahenge" you are already establishing opposition. That was never the point of the original and if it indeed was about "kuchh to log kahenge" then by ending the relationship as of now they are not even letting anyone say anything, I hope people understand what I mean. Only if they be together will they face opposition of people, not just family member who are way over the top in their reactions. I think Astitva did much better justice the age difference concept.
I saw Dhoop Kinare years ago in the late 80s and saw it again recently, whatever has been shown in KTLK so far has covered the entire Dhoop Kinare, (except for one sequence which would be part of Mallika's life in this case) has been covered. Now they don't have any reference point of where to head the show, hence they are coming up with these stupid tracks of suddenly turning a clean good friend into a negative obsessive lover.
The whole problem with today's TV is - MONDAY to FRIDAY. Why can't we have weekly shows, that way everyone will get a breather and time to work on the story-screenplay and not just shoot to fill 22 mins slot every day. Actors will able to give more to their characters, their work schedules will be rational and they won't have to leave shows due to ailments. I really hope the era of weekly shows comes back. It would really do TV a lot of good.
Entirely my opinion, not intended to offend anyone.
