first the good part. i have not stopped watching the show - ON TV.. so have been doing my part to contribute to Sony TV's TRPs.
now the not so good part.. On Monday, we were shown, or almost shown, horror of what can happen to women ( married or unmarried really does not matter) in situations where they can be taken advantage off. It is a very serious matter. I know of families that have been affected by such traumatic occurances that no one would ever want to even think off.
i expect the makers to be a little bit more conscious of their responsibilities in handling this subject. if they were going to "use" this situation just to show Dev becoming more possessive ( when was he not!) i think they could have chosen a different route. Having shown us what they did, i would expect them to be a little more sensitive towards women and have Sona exhibit at least a little after-effects of what she has been through.
what i am unable to digest is that a man seems to be more affected and the subject herself seems to be as calm as a cucumber and pretending as if what happened was trivial. This is making a mockery of a serious and real problem.
I did not know whether to laugh or cry seeing today's episode. Add to that the weird background music that is more suitable for the horror show that precedes this one.
I am sure there will be alternate views - in support or against what is being shown, but i am unable to relate to it one bit. i find Sona's behaviour the most weird.
The highlight, or supposed to be highlight, of Dev giving Sona the gift of a mangalsutra, putting it on her and putting the sindoor on her forehead, was all lost in the weird expressions of Sona. it was more disgust than joy.
Finally, seeing Sona, i was feeling disgusted!!
Now the best part - Sona's new outfit was such a pleasant sight and so was the change in hairstyle and appearance.
