Well, my rusted brain conjured a story, and here is a quickie...
Remember that it is just one part story... Here you go.
Winters were soon approaching... As her own wish, that she had made like a ritual, she used to knit a new sweater for Golu, ever since he was born... And now on his 7th running year, nothing changed for Ishwari, apart from the fact that this time she was knitting two sweaters; this time another one for her beloved granddaughter, who is now a part of the Dixit Family and lives along with her mother- Sonakshi Bose Dixit. Dixit, yes again a Dixit. A fixing of broken hearts and repairing of corroded mechanism of their adamant brains, and a lot of logical ground rules made things smoother for Dev and Sonakshi, not that, they have left their favourite banters and fights... They still love doing that; as they say, helps them digest life and believe that everything is happening for real... They have come over their notion of - "Mujhe tumse ladna bilkul pasand nahi hai., instead, their notion is - "Tumse jab tak ladaayi na ho, real wali feeling hi nahi aati. Sonakshi would hit a mocking punch on his tummy everytime he said such obvious things in the most amusing manner...
"Maa, ye aap kya bana rahi hain? Sonakshi sat next to Ishwari on the couch, where she was knitting...
"Golu aur Soha ke liye sweater bunn rahi hoon, aur Soha ke liye Topa bhi... Rishwat deke gayi hai ki agar main sweater ke saath matching ka cap bhi bunungi toh wo chutti wale din Ramayan ka paath sunegi mujhse. Ishwari smiled and laughed at the innocence of her granddaughter.
"Maa, aapne ye sab kaise seekha? Ye silaayi bunaayi and all that? Sonakshi asked.
"Humare zamaane mein ye sab sikhaaya nahi jaata tha, bas maa, kaki ko dekhke seekh jaate they... Tum seekhogi? Ishwari asked.
Sonakshi bobbed her head side by side - " Agar aapko mujhe sikhaane mein time waste karna ho... Sonakshi laughed, Ishwari joined in...
"Tumhe sach mein koi dilchaspi nahi hai silaayi kadhai mein? Kadhai matlab silaayi bunaayi wali kadhai, rasoi wali nahi... Ishwari laughed at a distinctive memory from many years ago... Sonakshi too threw her head backwards in a hearty laughter.
"Maa, aapko yaad hai, aapne kaha tha ki aapko meri hone wali saas pe taras aa raha hai... Usko bhookh lagegi toh kya chai pilaaogi aur sitar bajaaogi, Lo isi se peit bhar lo... Sonakshi gaffawed remember that day...
"Hey Bhagwaan, mujhe kya pata tha ki main khud pe hi taras kha rahi hoon... Pehle pata hota toh tumhari training tabhi se shuru kar deti, abhi tak toh na jaane kitna kuch seekh jaati tum! Ishwari joked good naturedly.
Sonakshi laughed her heart out at that as she said - "Maa, I am so sorry, main bilkul waisi nahi hoon, jaisi shayad aap apni bahu expect karti hongi... Mujhse toh ye sab hota hi nahi hai. she indicated towards the wool balls lying around on the table...
Ishwari held Sonakshi's ear as she reprimanded her- "Ye bataao, kaun si aisi bahu milti, jo itni badi nootrishan ho, itna bada business chalaati ho, apne ghar aur rishto ko sambhaalna jaanti ho, apni beti ko akele paal sakti ho aur sabko itna pyaar deti ho... Kya hua agar tumse ye saare gharelu kaam nahi hote. Ye sab toh main bhi kar sakti hoon, Jassi kar sakta hai... Par tum jo karti ho, wo har koi nahi kar sakta... Ishwari had cupped Sonakshi's cheeks, praising her whole heartedly.
Acceptance is something that Sonakshi has craved during her first marriage to Dev... But this time around, things are so different.. She got all of it that she had always craved for, bountiful! And no matter what, it made her so emotional...
Their emotional moment was interrupted by Dev, who now was adjusting his coat... He has returned to his gentlemanly avatar ever since their marriage, and was ready for his office - Kya baatein chal rahi hain aisi gup-chup ke, dono saas bahu ke beech mein? he asked all smiles...
Ishwari looked amused at Dev and said - "Tujhe kya karna ki hum Maa-beti kya baatein kar rahe hain, tu apne daftar jaa... Jaldi... Ishwari couldn't help laugh at Dev's expressions.
"Maa, tuney iss ladki ke liye apne bete ko jaane ko kaha? Ye teri beti ban gayi, main tera beta nahi raha? Dev though was ecstatic seeing their bonding, yet was feigning anger...
" Tu toh humesha mera beta raha hai, aur humesha rahega... Bas ab meri bahu meri beti ban gayi hai... Tu bhi toh yahi chaahta tha na? Ishwari asked to a smiling Dev...
He just nodded a teary eyed face seeing what he had been craving to see for years, come true... He bent and took blessings from his mother, and then the car keys slipped off his fingers, landing near Sonakshi's feet... Both bent to pick them up, and he secretly planted a kiss on her head and rushed off for the office winking at her... She returned the smile... All was well...
