Hello!😃
How have you all been? I really miss being a part of forum's regular discussions.

I know, I will be in the minority if I say I enjoyed yesterday's episode. Infact the entire week's episodes.
Maybe because I look at Dev from a different perspective and don't take his actions very seriously, knowing where they are coming from and upto what its intentions are limited to.
Dev had once locked her in the office and tied her yesterday. But did you notice how both these incidences where it seems that Dev is upto no good and is super insensitive towards Sonakshi, were followed by him saving her.
From the earthquake and a tiny moment yesterday, where he saves her from falling.
Isn't it conflicting?
I think it is very smartly done by the cvs how on one side Dev is loving his 'Devilish avatar' who enjoys troubling Sonakshi, may even enjoy looking at her struggling but on the other hand, when this trouble is not inflicted by himself, he instinctively saves her.
He had no reaction and effect of the proximity in both the former incidences (Office lock and hand-tie), he kept smirking and wanted Sonakshi to take his help. He even was expecting a call to listen to her gaalis that day😆
And in the latter cases, he was totally affected. The proximity in the balcony scene did not change him to his vulnerable self but the slip did!

What my point is, yes Dev is insensitive towards Sonakshi, he thinks that him inflicting some amount of struggle in her life would give him some sort of satisfaction, that he is no more affected.
But all his troublesome deeds are limited only until Sonakshi and the situation he created are directly in his control, under his influence.
Like a lab-testing under controlled conditions.
With fixed temperature, fixed pressure etc etc. You getting my point?😆 So by tying her hands yesterday, he knew what maximum would happen ? She would stand there for hours and he would act all cool to save her?
Even in his worst plans (Btw, I am not saying Dev is a saint and intentionally troubles Sona in 'less dangerous' ways, he himself is unaware) he is aware that the situation is in his control.
But during the earthquake and her slipping yesterday, his facial expressions instantly softened. Thats what his true self is for Sona, not wanting to see her in trouble.
These sudden moments manage to bring out the reality because he may not be able to control the situation when they are sudden, this equals trouble to Sonakshi, which he doesn't want.
So we will see this many more times again, Dev troubling Sonakshi to some really insensitive level maybe, and then Dev reacting vulnerably and saving her from tiniest of things, because of the same reason.😊
And Dev certainly can see through Sonakshi's facade (if any is remaining that is😆) and wants to see her being affected by his presence. He obviously had planned to tie her hand the moment he took that black folds in his hands before jumping, but was playing along with her vulnerability before it.
Taking advantage of it, Not Good Mr. Dixit🤔😆

Now, coming to the most debatable part of it, whether what he did was right or wrong?
Is he a bully?
Insensitive, yes obviously. Bully, no!

We are watching the show from a third perspective, the story is being lived by the characters, how we might perceive a situation maybe different from the emotions the character has.
While we were busy being totally shocked at what he did, what was Sonakshi's immediate reaction??

"Bachcho jaisa behave mat karo, Dev!"
What we are thinking of as an enormous insult to her love, Sonakshi, who is the sufferer herself, thinks as kiddish.
I think the use of this word is self explanatory. Sonakshi didn't give much importance to it because both of them are in this game of who wins together. She knows and expects Dev to do things of this sort. And though angry, she wasn't disturbed by it, like some us here maybe.
Hence, no reaction after the incident as well. She brushed it off completely.
Also, I would like to add that we should try not to mix bullying and conflicts together. Bullying is essentially where there is an imbalance of forces or power, where one is completely dominant over the other. Here, Sonakshi and Dev, in terms of power are equivalent, you all will agree.😊 In my opinion, it was a conflict..where one used the other's emotional weakness to win this round.

One thing I liked about Dev before the hand-tying scene was that though he was flirting openly with Ms. Preethi, when she tried to advance, he was very very clear about saying that he wasn't interested in 'that' way. That they can be friends and go on a date, because he doesn't want to share that special someone's love.
It is no mystery that those dialogues were for Sonakshi only😆😳 One because he didn't even know Soha existed until he met her, so he cannot technically wait for her😆
Second, Soha is only six years old ..ye saath saal door kaise hue..?😆
Dev has never ever, even after separation been hesitant to admit he loved Sonakshi and still does, nor has Sona but she says she is no more in love... both regret falling in love though.
What Dev said was that only, that he still loves her..about the rest of the sentences of getting her back and not letting her go this time, I am not sure if he started thinking about Soha as well, at that time. Because one thing is very clear right now that Dev has no intention of getting back with Sonakshi right now. Only Soha is in his line of sight.
So the first part was for Sona and second for their daughter.
😳
Dev realises that Sonakshi is eager to listen to those words from him, she wants to see how Dev wants her back in his life..and Dev throws the bait everytime to see her vulnerable and then withdraws.

Hope I am making some sense.Sorry for the blabber. Will try to be more regular now😳

Saumie since I was only affected by the hand tying scene, I will talk about it.

Dev as not been very protective of Sona and her emotions and well being even earlier. And hence this love story lacked that intensity for me. He never seemed to 'worry' for her. just wants her.
And I feel he wants her to ask for his help to satisfy hs ego ..its the attitude of the dominant partner.

He wanted her to grovel when he locked her in office . And it was obvious that she did not want to create a scene to let her parents know which is why she used the weirdest of ways to get out. it was also obvious that Dev had no worry about her safety. my bf would be worried sick if i am alone in office for even an hour. Here Dev was expecting Sona(and even gloating about it to Vkki) to plead with him? Does he even know her. She never pleads(I love her for that).

while tying I think he just wanted to be unkind. he did make efforts to break the knob, etc. its his bad luck that Sona is smarter than he thinks...

BTW many battered wives claim their husbands love them and hence beat/torture them. they perceve themselves as equal except that they are not. i dont agree to those women, similarly I think Sonakshi beng way too gullible will actually believe Dev and will be hurt again. Unlike last time Dev will also torture her along with his family members

Do you feel Dev would ever do this to Ishwari, Neha, Riya, Nikki , RR, Golu, Vikki, Mamaji or Soha?

Bang On analysis.👏
Completely agree.

Second, Soha is only six years old ..ye saath saal door kaise hue..?😆.

We all knew those words of Dev That he don't want to share special Love is foe sona but he took the Soha name.

@Bold...You gave the best proof that it is for Sona only.👏⭐️

Brilliant analysis of Dev's actions. I agree with you at that point that since we are the third people, we have got a different perspective and we understand the difference of what is right and what is not. But if we look from each character'set perspective we will find that they are right.
Coming back to Dev's behaviour or rather insensitive behaviour towards her, I just don't understand what was wrong with him. I could see the same old Dev who takes actions impulsively without thinking of its consequences. He just tied her for the sake of spending "quality time with his darling princess". But what if Sonakshi couldn't untie herself and Suhana dropped in there. Would she like this? Like seriously? What was even his mind processing i don't really know!

Saumiee 🤗
So good to see your post after long time. Had a smile on my face while reading your post and i dunno whether it was for reading your post after so long or happy to see you around or reading such an amazing analysis. Your posts are always amazing and this one was no exception.

Loved the way you described Devakshi and specially Dev and his actions in the post. Even i belong to the minority as I am loving summer camp episodes so far. They are like breath of fresh air away from Dixits and Boses.

I agree with you, we are watching it as third person, so our way of perceiving is different from the recipient. Sometimes i complain to my mumma papa that why did papa said this or how can mumma do that. The only answer i get is, i know my wife or husband and why she/he said so or did it, so you stay out of it. So it is indeed a couple thing. Although i will be honest i didn't liked when he tied her, but didn't made mountain of a mole.

I really liked your analogy of Dev's behvaiour with controlled experiments. Situations he create for Sonakshi are under his control and sometimes i feel its nothing more than a placebo. The dialogue after earthquake, "only i will hurt you" he seems to be living it very seriously.

After reading your post, now i have cleared my mind that the dialogue was for both. 😆 First half for Sona and second one for Soha. As off now he is only thinking about Soha, to gain her daughter's trust and love. He wants to hear papa from her mouth and is doing everything for that. As you mentioned right now he is not even thinking of reconciling with Sona, his only focus is Soha. It will happen later when gradually they will come in common terms for Soha.

I agree with the bullying part too, here both Devakshi are equal in every terms unlike season one. Its tit for tat situations for them.

How you come and give a total 360 degree turn to my approach everytime

The most speculated moment it was..with some wild reactions with angry protests LOL

Anyways this totally gave a new angle to the sequence..Starting from Dev in the process of flirting with the teacher he decided to test Sonakshi..though initially I was stumped what exactly he was saying and why and then in the end involved Soha to play safe..while watching repeat I could understand the scene in a much better way ..where his body language his nuances his words face spoke how those words were clearly for Sonakshi..like you said half half thing I feel it was all for Sonakshi only but the lines were so smartly constructed that he easily covered up his feelings by calling the special one as Soha..For me it was a chance which dev took and forced Sonakshi to be real in front of him and he successfully achieved that..she was all out in open..like everything was written in bold letters all over her face and very easily visible in her eyes..Sonakshi's astonishment her baffled yet soft face..how she was thrown off totally by Dev..she never imagined something like this coming from Dev all of sudden so how she stumbled even after teacher was gone & was worth watching..she was stuttering ..was all hyper and Dev was as cool calm as possible and had like paisa vasool entertainment their LOL..He enjoyed liked every bit of her reaction..

now coming to the tying part ..I still have my mind all dwindling between few explanations here..When he saw her getting stuck he again formed instant plan to trouble her a bit more..he first tried to act all nonchalant making her feel more uncomfortable..but then to execute his trick he coolly decided to cross the wall and help her..The closeness between them is the only thing they both can not handle under any circumstances ..Yes ..thats what I saw..though its difficult for me to read Dev 2 like this I have been experiencing since 1st episode..but this time I would say even though his active mind was executing the trick but his heart was not and seeing Sonakshi all weak (emotionally I mean) vulnerable and totally in his spell He too momentarily enjoyed that closeness and emotions I atleast felt so..I could see it on his face eyes..though the expertise they have in controlling situations is something they have been doing all along since the day they met after 7 years..

This taunting troubling is according to me the safest option to not let other see what is beneath this mask..they CAN NOT open up to each other because of several reasons..and I completely understand them here..Thier is saying in hindi "doodh ka jala chaachh bhi phook phook kar peeta hai"..thats the case..and this indifference silly arguments is the ONLY way they can interact yet stay unaffected in front of each other..they have to mentally prepare themselves everytime they have to face each other..They are walking on a very thin rope..I believe..their is this havoc

ATM like you said he wants to be fathr thats it..and this camp was the perfect chance to bond with Soha .. when he saw Sonakshi around it kinda dampened his motive..now that he so fiercely wants to be close to his daughter & has one track mind ..He is doing things to keep Sonakshi away..Yes Sonakshi has given him permission to be with Soha but he cant spend quality time with Soha in her presence..and thats true too..so he is kinda a bit miffed as well..

Now coming to bullying part I totally agree with you..like SPOT ON the controlled and uncontrolled situations..PERFECT explanation their..well said..Though this tying could have been avoided but then it was harmless...He tied her in open balcony with a piece of cloth not like he stuffed her inside some cupboard and locked her..their actions might be childish and silly but also they know each other much better then what one can think..they might get angry can say much hurtful words to each other but at the end ..she understand him in the best possible way and so does he..

Although I believe this 3 day camp is gonna bring changes in their equation but also mami Vicky plan looks troublesome and scary to me..can totally spoil things for the couple and kids ..UHH not getting good feeling

This camp is suppose to be an enjoyable fun event for everyone but but...

Forget it I am totally having a blast watching it specially my little Golu he is the best thing ever HAHA..I have fallen for him totally LMAO

My POV no offense :)
