Whew! its a riot out here today! 😲
I feel like I've been thrown into a war zone with Team Sona and Team Dev having an all out blow fest.

Before I begin I want to put a disclaimer so I don't get bashed. I love Dev and Sonakshi together and I eventually want to see them back together in the end (With hopes it will be done tastefully)
I'm also not Team Sona or Team Dev. I'm actually Team Soha.

I admit the backlash today does feel extreme and that what happened in today's episode was kind of blown out of proportion. It wasn't bullying but simple fun. I've done the same to my friends and they've done it to me alot of times.

However, I think the people who are kind of bashing Dev are being misunderstood. I think the fans are just annoyed and therefore what happened with the whole tying thing was like a candy on top that just blew everyone's lids.

Its Dev's actions over time which have been adding up and annoying most people. To deny that he hasn't been mean, a bully or even cruel before is wrong. He did lock her in the office knowing she would have no way to come out. As angry and bitter as he was about her, it doesn't justify his actions and I don't even want to get started on the things he did pre-leap. (He did have her fired out of work jbtw)

Therefore, defending him entirely is quite honestly impossible because his character is most definitely flawed in many aspects. And saying this doesn't mean I'm siding with Sonakshi's character jbtw. Also, I think many members are annoyed because they're expectations from the show were much higher. It was the resemblance to reality and the maturity of this show and its simpleness that attracted people to this show in the first place.

While the whole camp setting, their scenes are a welcome change and a delight to watch when you look at the episodes individually, without keeping the entire show in context. It is a bit disappointing to see the way such an integral and sensitive situation is being handled.

I'll explain why, it personally bothers me. I've been where Soha is and that two around the same age. That is, with divorced parents who although loved each other and only each other even after their divorce, were completely bitter about it. They always had some sort of blame game going on that they assumed I wasn't witnessing. I was never provoked by either of them against the other. They also left most of the decisions up to me. Like I got to choose if I wanted to see my mom and if I wanted to spent time with her. It is only after I grew up that I learned of their individual faults and why they separated which really makes me sad because just like Devakshi, they were meant to be together. Maybe in time life would have brought them together if my mom was still alieve but because this is real life and things don't just fall into place, it didn't work out that day. That being said my dad still loves her and she loved him until the day she died.

Their case taught me love isn't always enough. Without trust, respect and understanding relationships don't last no matter how much you love the other person. They wanted to be together too but neither of them were willing to back down or accept their mistakes. (Which sucks because my life could have been so much better had they just made up. 🤔)
Coming back to Devakshi. I know its a show and not real life. It is solely for the purpose of entertainment largely. Still I'm gonna say it doesn't sit well with me how the CVs are making Dev go about the whole situation. That's because drama's are a form of art and art is meant to show people what they can't see. To create awareness, to teach the audience something.

I'm not gonna go into details on what exactly is making me feel this way because even I can't pinpoint it exactly. I'll just say as amusing and funny as I find the episodes and how relieving it is to see the two actors sharing the same screen space in a light and uplifting manner. It just doesn't leave me with a good after taste. Like morally it doesn't sit well with me. And I'm not talking about how Dev is treating Sona, but how he's trying to win over Soha.

For one, I would be so disappointed and hurt growing up and realizing that my father wasn't the man he portrayed himself to be. He's just trying to win her over right now so that she accepts him as her papa but he isn't really trying to be her dad. Maybe i'm getting ahead of myself and its too early to pass a judgement but I have a feeling Dev is going to end up hurting Soha in some way. Indirectly and unconsciously but he is because he himself doesn't fully understand. His brain and moral compass are kind of screwed up.

Again please I'm not bashing him, just saying it how I see it. Yes, I think he is misunderstood in alot of ways. The situations have not always been in his favour especially when it comes to Sona but one of his biggest problems is that he doesn't learn from past experiences. He never really sees the bigger picture which in his defence is I believe a character trait that the CVs have gifted him with.

So yeah. For entertainment value though, let's just enjoy the few days of lighthearted episodes we've been gifted with and just accept the show is going to go the way it is. Nothing we can do or say will change it so there is no point of raising your BPs and anxiety over it.

Happy weekend guys,
Cheers.
