I loved the episode to the power of infinity. There were some moments which just can't be explained explicitly or overtly. Subtlety always has been it's strong point. We had thought of would have an explicit impact and there has been many discussions on what it would be even. But today what we say was in one word beautiful... It was simple, not glaring to the eyes but enough to make its presence felt. Mainly catering to dev...what we have been wanting to see for a long time a really.
So starting with the hospital scene. When sona came in before he could speak he was cut off by sona but I felt that he was trying to say something more than thank you. That tone, his eyes, 'haa mujhe bhi kuch baat karni hai sonakshi'... It was first time he was speaking, not his ego. But of course with those vultures hovering over the two sona could say nothing more. I hope dev shows this change in the office.
Next poignant scene was of course the ishwari dev scene obviously. Now, first thing to notice was for first time he was not avoiding sona's topic with ishwari. Till now he was harping that usse hame koi farak nahi parna chahiye, mai age bar chuka hu, mujhe uski baat nahi karni kisise etc etc. Today he he himself launched into a conversation with her about sona. Tujhe dar mere liye laga yah isliye ki sonakshi tere zindagi mai wapas aa jayegi? And that too in response to what? Ishwari's blatant attempts to show him in the eyes that sona doesn't love him anymore that she is wrong for him etc. I mean with her talks about mujhe laga usne tujhe isliye bachaya kyuki woh tu hai jisse woh pyar karti thi, par woh toh ehsan chukane ki baat kar rahi thi. Could she be any more cruel? But then I don't expect anything from her.
From here on next he countered ishwari's every point. Tujhe iss baat ki shikayat hai ki usne rishta nahi nibhaya ya jaan nahi di. Now contrast this to what he had said to golu that night about her leaving him even after promising not to. He is angry on her for that but he understand why too on some level he knows very well the efforts sona made going out of her way, falling short only in that she didn't give her life and for once chose herself over him. He knows no other girl would do that or be right for him the way sona was. This was his response to her point of moving on in life.
Even after that when she goes on blaming sona he asks tujhe shikayat khudse hai ki mujhse... He knows they both are at fault. Probably much more than sona. He has realised his mother's hand in sona leaving him. I just loved this line. It shows that though he is angry, he also knows she wasnt at fault. That's why today he didn't let ishwari attack her even once. THIS. Ishwari didn't attack sona explicitly in words but he was there to speak for sona everytime, no matter what his equation with her is.
And best line for the last... Uske liye mera pyar mai bhula chuka hu par uske yaade mitana impossible hai. It's like when we are forcefully deprived of something we learn to live without it, and it pains lesser and lesser each day. It's not that he doesn't love her anymore but everyday in these seven years he has had to learn to live without her love, to live without his lifeline., knowing well that his chances of getting back sona are slim at best or not at all. But yet what he lives by is her memories.
Finally, the conversation with golu. Begins with a remark to ishwari that the chot he has given her is unhealable. And to golu he says, aisa mat karna agar uski mang puri ho gayi toh shayad kisiko problem ho sakti hai. He knows in her deepest of hearts sona must be earning for him as he does for her but he also knows it will irk his mother lead to lot if problems resurfacing again. So let's not deliberately bring these problems on him and sona right?
What beauty these lines had!
And these two scenes combined with that with golu... I think the CVs have started his redemption guys.. Just not overtly as we thought. Now he lives for himself doesn't let himself be manipulated by his mom, speaks out his mind, has made himself clear about sona, and as per today doesn't let his equation with her anyone a chance to point fingers at her. All this without raising his voice even!
I mean I don't have words but dev dixit has started creeping his way into out hearts again. This is what the accident sequence did. I just read today someone forgave him after those words... Gardener tumhe chor ke nahi gaya the.
Now what is left is to acknowledge ( I think he already realises) his mistakes..first to himself and then stop behaving like a jackasses with sona when they are in public. I think that was what the interview was... For the public. And anyways it was given before any of this happened. So I don't believe a word of it.
Anyway, guys I think dev dixit is ready to win our hearts again. Probably without us even realising. And after he has redeemed himself in our eyes and himself probable we will see a reunion with sona. I am proud that CVs know our taste, that we wouldn't like a reunion within first ourselves being convinced that it's right. I am in no hurry by the way... Just dying to see their equation in office now! Fingers crossed! Kyuki jatin naam ka googly ane wala hai aur phir dev babu ko predict karna na mumkin hoga!
Two things more. The soha scene. Now it's impossible for sona to forget dev because he is right in front of her in firm of soha. She is a carbon copy of dev, is totally a daddy's girl. Has a dil ka rishta even though she doesn't know him seems to understand him perfectly. Handsome, strong, thora joke karte honge aur thora gussa. How accurately she describes her father. And she becomes the reason why her mom is reminded of all the haply moments spend with her father. Loads of love to this kid.
And on the other hand golu, he genuinely wants to thanks this person who saved his bigcha unlike a lady we know. And wants god to fulfil all her wishes, little does he know what he just prayed for. Loved the parallel where he reminds him of sona and he too describes her to be strong, not a man bit a women. Loved loved loved it!
It's amazing what children understand so effortlessly, adults complicate unnecessarily.
I rambled a lot I think bit that shows how much I appreciated the episode!
