Hi there! Long time, no see 🤗

Posting here after a very long interval but have been watching the show regularly.

I watched the episode just now and "indifference" is the first word that popped into my mind. I log in and see your post on it 😃 So, couldn't help but reply.

Didn't realise you were active in this forum too. I haven't been lately. For a couple of months I was. Made posts left, right and centre and even a few OS. But once the characters started losing their consistency and went from being human to being stupid, I stopped watching and participating. Started watching the leap out of curiosity than anything else.

Dev has hurt Ishu where it hurts the most because she has done the same to him. I think indifference is worst that open hatred. This feeling that you don't matter any more - that must be a terrible one for her, coming from her son. He is playing the role of a dutiful son still but she is not his goddess any more. Once, she was indifferent to his happiness, now he is indifferent to her. I was cringing when she was telling him about how stars guide our path towards happiness 😡 What a facade she still tries to put on - doesn't she know Dev has seen through her mask of "goodness?" The last thing Dev's star did for him was think of his happiness 😡 And he didn't remark anything against her comments - he knows now that there's no use. Just keep play acting.

Yeah. Now he is saying all the things she would have wanted him to say at one point of time. Yet when the emotion doesn't back up those words, they seem meaningless. I think she is now realising the difference.

And there was so much irony when he said "humein kya fark padta hai." It never mattered to his mother, so now he has added to her act and proving that it doesn't matter to him as well. That's the way to keep Ishu happy, better not get into the reality of it all! Did he touch her feet when he came in??

Nope. No touching feet, no head in her lap. A one armed hug which appeared more casual than affectionate.

I wish they had shown us those days when these things changed ❓ Poor Ishu - she "won" over Sona but she lost what she fought so hard for - her place in Dev's life.

Honestly, I wasn't too happy with the leap news, especially with the kid thrown in. I never got to see the "mature" love story I wanted to but now I must say it looks interesting! I like the changed Dev and Sonakshi. I feel they were both at fault those 7 years back but it happens. When you are hurt, sometimes, we ignore things we see and know, knowingly. It takes that much to break away from someone we love too much but can't stay with. I hope they handle this track with subtlety and finally give us the mature love story. I love Sona though - she has proved that even if hearts break, dreams break, hopes break, and families break - as long as we don't break, we can still rebuild ourselves. The cracks will always be there, but the hopes can be rekindled.

I have become active in the forum only recently after a huge gap , so I really don't know the members too well .So forgive if I am not able to address by the first names. An awesome post. Indifference as everyone has pointed out, is the best way to hit out at others and Dev is doing this with great aplomb. I feel Ishwari did catch his subtle jibes and crafted indifference but now is powerless to chide him. Ishwari's NEMESIS should be shown; otherwise POETIC JUSTICE will have no meaning

Not an issue at all Becca.😃 Even I am not very active. I have known Ria and Chithra from my stint in the previous forums - Kuch toh log kahenge and Humsafars. So we kind of have progressed from forum-ites to friends.

I am Suvika. You can call me Suvi or Suvika - your choice. I am a writer by profession so can't resist analysing and writing. Devrath Dixit and his characterisation was what had initially drawn me into this show but once he reached a point where I couldn't defend him, I started to watch it with a kind of clinical detachment.

Coming to your comment, oh yeah. She did catch his subtle jibes. But she is powerless to say anything because he is not openly defying or being rude and angry. He is not even blaming her for anything. He is mouthing all the words that she had always wanted to hear from her son but that underlying indifference makes them meaningless to her. No wonder she has gone into depression.

I always knew Dev would never be rude with his mother and why should he be right , when ex-GKB said he should phone his mother come home to see her there was no worrisome on his face he walks in casually to his mother allows her to talk and like always she talks about his childhood but this time there was no sorrow or pain for that past it made no difference to him
the moment his mother talks about Sonakshi , he tries hard to shrug the pain off but its there and yet again when he leaves he takes no blessing from his mother now nothing she tells him effects him

Yes.
And now I am curious to see if he sees himself as a victim, shifting all the blame onto mom and ex-wife or does the character / behaviour change include a little introspection too.

Dev loves both these women right
he would certainly blame Sona for not believing in his love , he blames his mother for helping him destroy his marriage instead of supporting she just stood by
so Dev would blame them , it wouldn't make sense if he does not blame them
he already told Elena the Bose sisters never understood him
soon we will hear more from him

But soon I understood it was wrong on my part to expect a drastic, dramatic step by him for her. You can not talk to your mother for a day, a month, maybe a year..but not more than that.

I now get the subtle differences and I am loving it👏
