Until Sona came in, Ishwari was so used to being treated as the Goddess who can't do no wrong that the recent setbacks have made her desperate to be proven right.
But, here the point is not Ishwari.
Whether she is right or wrong to bring Ayan's proposal (she didn't bring the proposal, she considered it. Ayan's family brought the proposal to them) is moot point.
Here the point is not to take credit for who did right or wrong. The point is to make sure Riya is being married to a decent person.
This is not a love marriage where parents are left with no choice but to let their children decide. This is an arranged marriage.
Also, Riya is not Neha or Nikki who if in a difficult situation would give her in-laws and husband the boot and come back home. She is a shy, introvert girl who may never open her mouth even if she is mistreated.
Ishwari might be right and Ayan is a good person (although his reaction indicates otherwise). But can she afford to be wrong in such an important decision? Will she be able to forgive herself if Sonakshi turn out to be right and Riya's life is ruined because she didn't pay attention?
If anyone even if Kichu raises a concern based on something he saw, a family should investigate the person they are handing over their precious girl to specially since one of their daughters already suffered a marriage break up.
When a love marriage goes wrong, it's the couple's problem. When an arranged marriage goes wrong, then it is the family's fault. Because they didn't do their due diligence before giving their precious daughter.
If I have a son and my prospective daughter-in-law's family asks a million questions to me, my relatives, my employer etc. and I have nothing to hide, I will be very happy that they love their daughter enough to ensure that we are good people and worthy of taking her responsibility.
Marriage is a lifelong commitment. We don't buy a car without investigating past accident report, owner/seller history etc. Yet when it comes to marriage, we have more trust in horoscope or word of mouth from the groom himself and hand over our daughter?
