When the makers fail the leads for TRP

Dear folks,

I read the updates of today's episode, and then watched it (quite daring I am , isnt it?😉).

Kuch rang TRP ke aise bhi - this should be the name of the show from here on!

The show's most distinguishing factor was being unique and fresh with a dose of realism. But guess, for past few weeks now, all that the makers and the channel cares about is TRP and drama - and today was the finale!

None of the leads (Dev/Sona or Ishwari) are any longer behaving the way they were characterized.

Even in the work of fiction, you have to stay true to the characters' behaviour, but here all of them have become chameleons - i can't believe these are the same Dev/Sona/ Ishwari - defying all logic and just sounding so absurd.

Its all TRP churning soap opera and not going as per the storyline

BECAUSE

Dev would not take things lying down and stay mute, especially with regards to his business - he was and is Mr.Obhodro in that regard. And requesting Vicky to join.. please thats no Dev Dixit! Remember, how he explained his mother about her health's importance over maami, when Sona was insulted! What happened to him? I guess the TRP disease has made him dumb and mute.

Sona - She was the first person to give him space and then challenge his thought process. She knew where to draw the line, and where to problem-solve. Always! Need I give examples - whats is the feeling of love conversation with Dev, when Dev broke down after Neha's bidaai, Dev offered job to Ranveer. She smartly managed and challenged his thinking, without overstepping and getting clingy/emotional. What happened to her? I think the TRP disease has made her plain stupid.

Ishwari is past her redemption anyway - Being insecure is one thing, mental is another, but the TRP disease has made her qualified enough to speak on business related matters.

I can only ignore todays episode because it was infected by TRP - and I dont want to feel sick anymore. I think this will continue for some more weeks before their find the right medicine. The true medicine is when the leads will quit the show.

I think the biggest irony is that the leads (who are absolutely amazing) and the ones that the makers and channel guys have cheated. The real stars are being let down. And with them, we audience is disappointed too.

So no point blaming Dev, Sona or Ishwari - they all are innocent! Its the disease of TRP - the makers fell prey to it.

This is my POV. Phew!

I agree with u...I made a post on this in the morning ...Sonakshi was so much out of her character today...All Dev was needed at that time was space ..she didn't let that happen n frustration turned into anger..

But I didn't get this..If they are after TRPs, it should be noted that the past 2 weeks drama has not created any increase in TRP. In fact, our show's TRP has decreased a bit..

I agree with you.. I don't know why but what the stars had tweeted (even though was just for fun), looks unfortunately true.

I think more than Sonakshi, today Dev was completely out of character.

I am actually more annoyed with how they portrayed him in front of Ishwari, Vicky & GKB.

Why so helpless and acting like a moron!

Attracting TRPs is the motive - whether they achieve it or not is completely different 😉

But they are completely spoiling it for Shaheer & Erica 😭

So true. They have a power packed brilliant team of actors and they are totally under utilizing them. rather making them look like fools.

If they need to show complexities in relations, the same can be done without butchering the characters. Its been a while we have been seeing the characters be out of character. And its sad...

Well I felt same when CVs brought Dadi bua and her drama ..that they r doing it all for TRP
But today 's episode was seriously not OTT Drama..it happens in real.

I was seriously expecting from a person like Dev to lash out at his wife due to constant pressure from his mother.He s otherwise a very lovely person.His mom is the driving force behind his anger n brainwashed mind.
I seriously don't think that Dev's character has been spoiled.can he afford to upset his mom when it's just a matter of business and money??
In his conscious or sub conscious mind he knows that he might have to suffer loses as Vicky is not deserving but he is ready for that.his mother's happiness is much more than money.
He doesn't take decision from his mind when it comes to his family unlike Ishwari who was so eager to get that pre nup thing done.
since It's not a matter of life n death for someone and if that brings happiness to his mother then thats it ..he will do it without giving a second thought.

Coming to Sona ..I don't find her reaction in precap OTT..
She is educated and well informed.Its her responsibility to warn her husband not once but many times if he is taking a wrong decision..

That's exactly what I meant from my post. Glad we are on the same page on this.

Atleast there is iota of understanding here :) because everyone in the forum is also too jumpy and misunderstanding each others' viewpoints. In fact it is so absurd, that while both shaheer and erica remarked that the show is going saas-bahu way (though in a harmless fun way) yet everyone is he'll bent on proving that its realistic, true to life etc... Nobody seems to realise that this is not a realistic documentary- it's a work of fiction and we invested in Dev-sona's story, and they should act not how we want then to but as per the character sketch. But... the makers are only creating drama which was non-existent earlier.

This drama is all about TRP's only ,All logic , storytelling gone for toss .

They are serving this as "REALISTIC" by showing just saas always taunting bahu , bahu sacrificing her self respect . and Son is not thinking with his brain ,who Can't take his own decision 😕

This show was supposed to be about BREAKING STEREOTYPE.😕

We all knew how Dev will give in to Ishwari's demand and vicky will get promoted.. The problem is why was Dev shown so mute and helpless. Ishwari said some 3 times,' naye Rishton ke liye purine rishtey' dialogue - he couldn't ask even once who is new here? We have all seen how stern he has been earlier, but now. Sona again was again out of her character - I never said she was OTT, infact she is too submissive and clingy - so unlike her. This is not 'her real self'

All of this could be reality in many households, but this is not how Dev or Sona were characterised - we saw them in an entirely different form.
