Hi guys

Its been a few days since I wrote a post or even commented on any post. Had lots to say but wondered whether is it even worth? Especially since I dont like the feeling I get when i watch KRPKAB. I think the offscreen info coming out thru various TV channels is way more interesting than the episodes...starting from Friday, 23rd Sept when the whole Sonakshi health issue started. Past few Episodes have been all over the place and Characters are behaving so out of character.

1. Ishwari - Her current Primary focus is on wanting a Grandchild. But wait...isnt she the same person who till a few days back was almost borderline Crazy, overly possessive and insecure of sharing her son. When did she gather jewellery for her grand children? Oh...so she had the sense to do that but she wasnt willing to get a DIL home...be it Sona or any other girl. Wow! OK so now she has fully accepted Sona and suddenly jumped on to another bandwagon - Grandchild?

So while Dadi Bua tried to brain wash her, her silence only showed that she agreed to what was being said abt Sona. But within minutes she is in Dev's room and all considerate and worried for Sona. Really? So what exactly is going thru Ishwari's mind? CVs seem to be more confused than Ishwari herself.
During Elena and Vicky fiasco, Ishwari is shown to be convincing Dadi Bua...ki shaadi ke functions mein yeh sab hota rehta hai. Seriously?! She has 2 grown up daughters. What if somebody misbehaved with them? Wud she still say the same thing. Infact I was disappointed to see an indirect form of encouragement to such issues. Not a KRPKAB style.

Have CVs lost a grip on Ishwari's character. I dont seem to understand Ishwari any more. And it kinda breaks my thought process and connection with Ishwari. There is no flow. Wouldnt it be more natural for Ishwari to still be struggling with her insecurities of losing her position in her son's life? I think that would be more acceptable than see Ishwari mention Grandchild atleast 2-3 times in every Episode.
We get it CVs you are trying to build up the drama and tension around Dev coz he is the only one who currently knows about Sona's health issue. But it feels like this Drama and Tension is being forced down our throat. Never seen it in KRPKAB before. So its shocking and disgusting.

2. Elena - she has been shown bold but at the same time would not disrespect the elderly. But her character too seems to be going thru sudden changes...so sudden taht difficult to digest. 3 clashes in 1 Snageet ceremony. Can't imagine what all CVs will make Elena's character do in the ME.

3. Sona - We have always loved Sona for her subtle yet bold, independent personality. But Sona too doesnt seem to be in her character past 2-3 episodes. Firstly what was it abt showing Sona a lil OTT in Dev's imagination of how Sona wud behave if she got to know abt her medical issue. Dev's imagination of Ishwari's reaction was perfect. But when have we seen Sona react or Erica "act" in that manner. Then moving on to Sangeet function. Howcome Sona (aka sanskaari girl) initiates a convo abt DevAkshi kids?...that was a first. Then during the whole Dadi Bua and Elena fiasco, Sona was shown to have handled it as a matured and clever to-be-DIL without being disrespectful to anyone. But during Elena and Vicky fiasco, Dev very rightly showed Vicky his place and also shut Mamiji. Then Sona's response to Mamiji esp infront of all the guests was a lil contradictory to how Sona handled Dadi Bua's situation. Though ofcourse Vicky and Mamiji were completely wrong, Sona's behaviour looked a lil rude towards Mamiji. What i mean is ...Sona would not disrespect someone in the presence of so many ppl.

4. Dev - In Friday's epi, Dev's reaction on knowing Sona's health issue was beautifully portrayed by Shaheer. It was so emotional and one could easily relate to how Dev was feeling. But the very same scene was shown differently in Monday's epi and was a lil OTT. Dev was ofcourse worried that Sona will be heartbroken but then he also starts worrying for Ishwari? Ok ...but then what abt his own feelings? Why didnt the makers atleast once show Dev's feelings for himself. Also, Dev being a youth of the current generation doesnt seem to behave like one. He seems to have lost all hope and continues saying ...ki maa jo tu chahati hai woh main tujhe nahin de sakta. Really? Why are CVs portraying it this way?

5. DevAkshi - Ofcourse like we all know the passion and romance has been missing since long. And now add Sona's health issue to it. Great! Couldnt this have waited a few Episodes? Atleast give them a break. Give us a chance to see DevAkshi smiling and happy and some romance between them...didnt they just patch up and didnt he just propose? I don't even want to get started on the patch up and proposal epi. So as per yday epi, CVs, make Dev to follow the Out of sight Out of Mind policy so that viewers get to enjoy all the remaining functions and wedding. Would it not have been better, if as a matured couple DevAkshi discussed abt it. Its possible that Sona wud have thought of staying out of Dev's life...but would it not be better to see Dev convince Sona of how much he loves her and cannot think of a life without her. May be they need not have disclosed it to either of the families before marriage and could have thought abt dealing with it post marriage...together as a couple. I was so hoping for Dev to tell Sona abt this or Sona of her own getting to know of this before marriage. This is so not the way to start a new relationship...
DevAkshi dance during Sangeet - personally just could not connect to it. The editing seemed to be totally off. In one scene you see Dev looking sad but the very next second when the scene is shown frm a different angle he looks happy. There was no continuity of feelings. Whereas the OLVs were way more emotional and beautiful than the dance shown in the Episode. TBH when i saw the OLVs, I was expecting it to be covered more beautifully in the epi. But thanx to the poor editing...could not connect to DevAkshi's performance.
Even in yday's epi, DevAkshi's sudden dance on the street seemed eh! For me the most romantic part was when Dev tells Sona "we'll soon be husband and wife". The way Shaheer sounded while saying that (his voice modulation) was more sensual and romantic tahn the street dance. I am missing the Sona which we saw in Epi 76, 77, 78 and so on...Nowadays just dont get those DevAkshi feels :(

6. The only characters that are still consistent in their personalities are Mamiji and Vicky. Though Vicky's sudden bold move towards Elena in front of both families was a lil OTT that too under no influence of alcohol.
Mamiji's 1 statement in ydays epi was a SHOCKER - when she tells Vicky "Tere aise ghoorne se bhasm nahi ho jaayegi woh. Kuchh karna hai na toh sahi sabak sikha isse. Bohot udti hai yeh bangali chidiya. Uske parr kaatkar zameen par laa kar dikha". Shocker bcoz I never saw this much negativity shown in KRPKAB. This looked like a scene from the typical TV shows or hindi movies. Also whom was it meant for Sona or Elena? Also, the way it was said and portrayed...looked and sounded very cheap and very derrogatory towards a woman.

So I am kinda wondering whether is KRPKAB slowly taking the route of other TV shows. CVs are changing the personalities of the characters as and when needed. But dont they realise...it just makes it very confusing for a viewer. especially since we know and have been connecting with these characters for 100 odd epsiodes. Seeing a change in personality for multiple characters is not Cool. The only thing keeping me interested in watching the show is ShaRica. Past few days have been a treat w.r.t OLVs and offscreen IVs and BTS shown in the segments. These seem to be more exciting and fun than the actual episodes itself.

I first became a fan of KRPKAB and loved DevAkshi and that led me to becoming a ShaRica shipper. But now I feel I am watching KRPKAB only bcoz of ShaRica...the tight scripted storyline seems to be lost.

Anybody else feels this way????

Ps. What is the value add of Dadi Bua's character? Didnt we already have a GKB to brain wash Ishwari?

You are not the only one...go back to posts from last week, you'll see a lot of us upset 😊 so you have company !
Agree with most of what you have written - really in no mood to think about it again ( sorry, CVs are really pissing me off 😆) , but only thing to say is this - makers of KRPKAB and the channel have decided to bow to 'populist' needs of OTT drama, in order to gain eyeballs , TRPs and wider reach. Which means the show, as we know it, no longer will be seen.

Sad, but true.

Ishwari's character is in drain she has always been manipulative and mean but never confused now whether she is insecured or wants to be a grand ma is confusing I hope this was just a build up and the baby talk stops 😕 I have complained many times that the drama quotient has increased in from the past episodes but I guess this is what they are doing to stay in business. Some parts are refreshing and natural but others are OTT,I guess one has to watch with lower expectations or like just catch devakshi scenes and avoid OTT episodes 😊 .I hope the CV's are reading they have a exceptional cast at their disposal but they don't use it to the fullest it willing be a shame 😕

Only thing I can say is that the episodes are leaving a bad taste in the mouth. This is not the show and characters I fell in love with.
The Sonakshi who was so sensible at the time of Nehas marriage suddenly seems to have forgotten her own teachings. The Bose family is not coming across as modern - they are coming across as boorish rude and suffering from superiority complex. They seem incapable of understanding others feeling, customs and point of view.

My mother yesterday commented- Dixits ne mang kar ladki Li hai isliye unke sar par chadh rahe hain. Somewhere even I felt the same. What are the Cvs doing to such a sensible and open minded family

Through their own behaviour they have given others opportunity to poison Ishwari's mind. And Bijoy! This is how a concerned father behaves? By insulting the in laws! Doesn't he know that his daughter has to go and live with these people and will bear the repercussions of his actions.

He has crossed the line between self respect and senseless ego.

dev I can still understand. He is doing what he has been taught since childhood - take all the burdens on himself and spare others the pain. It will take him time to realise that pain can also be shared with your life partner.

Ishwari suddenly looking so nice- so that she can create drama later.

gkb was in character when she told vicky to bring elena down. She is a third class woman with a third class mentality. Nothing else can be expected from her.

Overall I am unable to understand where the show is going. Looks like down the drain

Definitely not the only one dear. This show was so close to my heart before because I felt like I could relate to every character. Now I feel this real disconnect from the show because the characters have been so drastically changed to accompany the new plot. In all honestly it doesn't feel like I'm watching the same show anymore, most if not all of the charm previous episodes used to have has vanished.

You are not alone, I'm thinking the same... And mamiji really gave me a shock yesterday... Just deeply think about mamiji's words... She is literally provoking Vicky to rape Elina? ... Tell me if I'm wrong!.. My words might sound harsh but this is what I thought after watching that scene!.. Pathetic!... Never seen such a downfall of a great show in Indian TV! And I agree with you completely, specially how Ishwari tried to convince dadi bua!.. Kya hoga agar koi uski beti ke aisa karega? Kya tab bhi woh aise hi bolegi? That's my question too. After devakshi marriage I don't think I can continue with this show... Enough now.. It's becoming very hard for me to watch this show...like I'm watching a different show not kuch rang ke

What is the value add of Dadi Bua's character? Didnt we already have a GKB to brain wash Ishwari?

Two things.

1. We got to know Ishwari ko gyaan kaha se mila hain. On a positive note, we got to see Ishwari practically told to shut up by HER saas. 😆

2. We get to realise Ishwari is the milder version. Imagine her being MORE like this older lady and Dev worshipping her!!😲 So it was CVs way of telling us - Thank US for small mercies.😆

And yes, there IS a disconnect. There is no denying that. I just hope they are not going to shift the theme of the story completely. From Ishwari's insecurities to Sonakshi's infertility issue.

You took the words out of my mouth Ritu. This is exactly how I've been feeling. Thank you for making a post on this. Agree with each and every word you've written.
I'm losing that connect I had with the show. I don't feel like micro analysing every small detail like I used to earlier.
The fact that we're getting happy with scenes like a one armed hug or a small dance, shows how badly the makers have failed in showing passion that is required in a mature relationship. This is not how two adults aged 26 and 28 respectively, behave. I think im going to stop cribbing about showing passion. And by passion I do NOT mean a kiss. If they want to show intimacy without them even touching each other, there are lots of ways to do it. The way Dev looked at Sona in episode 77 and walked into the kitchen to eat the carrot - it is by far the most sensual scene of KRPKAB. And that happened without them touching each other. All they have to do is elaborate on that. Is it really that hard?
I don't want to get started on the characterisation and how haywire it all seems. I will never stop.

I found yesterday's dance goofy and not something a couple about to get married would do when they have a minute alone! It felt like something 2 friends might do together while hanging out and goofing off. I didn't like it at all. As others have mentioned they are really acting like an old married couple who have done it all and there's nothing new to discover. Now with the impending infertility drama + Ishwari fainting drama + Dev's ever present guilt, its bye bye intimacy, hello couch!!

Episode 77 - the way Dev comes close to her in his room and Sona says don't come so close, the kitchen carrot scene (just the purposeful way he walked towards her and the look he gives her), the way he blows on her forehead when she gets hurt...you could feel the desire he had for her, the desire between them. Will we ever get such moments again?

Does Dev have no physical urges as a 28 year old soon to be married man? Those few moments they had alone yesterday, did he not yearn to hold her close? I was expecting a close dance where he just savours the feeling of having her in his arms, away from all the wedding madness.

As for the characterisation - that's for another post!

So miserable they have done this to this very special couple.
