Turning Page

Scene 1:

"Mr. Dixit is there something eatable in the fridge?"

"How do I know? Is this my department to know?" He said sarcastically. His fingers were creating storm on the laptop keys.

"Please have mercy on the laptop keys, Mr. Dixit" She said, suppressing the laugh that was escaping from her throat.

Dev looked at her amused. How dare of her? Incredibly foolish. He thought. He did not say anything but increased the pace of typing if that was possible.

Sonakshi cooed "Mr. Dixit"

"Yes," he answered in monosyllables.

"I..." She could not finish the line as the electricity had been cut. It was monsoon time and there was raining all day long for a few days and for this reason load shedding was going frequently.

"Ugggh!!" Dev cursed under his breath and threw his laptop on the couch. He had forgotten to charge his gazette. Sonakshi found a candle and lit it up.

"This is the only candle Mr. Dixit. I forgot to buy some." Sonakshi reasoned sitting another side of the table where Dev was sitting. He only nodded and concentrated on his lost love, the novel grabbing the only candle near his side of the table.

Sonakshi looked at him helplessly. She tried to adjust with the faint light of the candle. She had an exam next day but she could not tell him that because...Suddenly the brightness fell upon her paper. She looked at him with surprise. He did not spare a glance to her just continued to read.

"Thank you" she whispered, the light from the thunder revealed the other side of Mr. Dixit. The caring, Mr. Dixit!

Dev just adjusted his reading glass and said nothing.

"Strange man" Sonakshi muttered and started to read. Her exam was more important than him.

Scene 2:

"Awww...this rain" Sonakshi cooed playing her fingers with the rain. Another song had started on the radio...

Azeeb dastaan hain yeh...Kaha shuru kaha khatam...!

"Please close the window. The seat will get drenched" Dev said while concentrating on the highly risked road.

"How can one live in this country with this much indiscipline? Eww this road" He muttered under his breath. Sonakshi did not listen to him.

"Mr. Dixit, you know I love to drench in the rain" She said dreamily.

"Incredibly foolish! Please stop acting like a teenager. You are older enough than this" He said sternly.

I am not an oldie like you" She whispered, but Dev had already heard it.

"What did you say? I am a buddha" He stopped the car by the side of the road.

"I...I just only said you look older than your age. You..." She could not finish her line as Dev had already unlocked the door of her side automatically.

"Mr. Dixit there is no exact age to enjoy your life. You can enjoy if you want to. Any time, trust me" Sonakshi tried to make him understand.

"Out" He said.

"Mr. Dixit"

"Why, you wanted to enjoy the rain, right? Then go. Why you are damaging the seat of my car."

"Mr. Dixit, I mean to say..." Sonakshi again tried.

"Go and enjoy your life in your own way" Dev started the engine.

Sonakshi stepped outside by raising the side bag of hers. Dev zoomed off his car and went ahead without saying anything.

Sonakshi stood there dumbfounded trying to gauge the situation. She could not even complete to ponder upon that Dev backed off his car and handed an umbrella to her hand. He had again zoomed off without saying anything. Sonakshi just shrugged off her shoulder.

"Strange man! Mr. Obhodro." She stomped her foot. The water on the road splashed making her dress dirty.

"Ugh! Stupid man" Sonakshi opened the umbrella and walked away.

There is nothing like love...but there is something between them which defined them.

With a lazy mind and lazy time once I wrote these scenes based on the promos of other show. These were one of my favorite scenes long ago and today I just readjusted it with my new found lovely pair, Dev-Sonakshi. It was named as ''Dotted line'' that time but for the new pair I loved the name ''Turning Page.'
